@phil has a way to adjust your account to have them removed. He did mine, and it works as it should. I know it's his source of revenue to help pay for the site, so I make sure to buy some stuff from the Lilley's Landing site or visit the store while near Branson. Was there last week, got a cool new hat.

I've been to Country Bob's a handful of times. It does come across as needing updates, but the quality of food and service has never disappointed.

This is one of the ponds I grew up fishing in. Also the pond a friend was found in when I was in high school. This is not the first time this pond has had a leak. It's very near Anheuser Bush, and Lemp Breweries. They are known for the caves and tunnels. https://www.ksdk.com/article/news/local/st-louis-lake-swallowed-by-sinkhole-emergency-fishing-order-fish-wont-survive/63-cbd45830-8ecd-4bd9-b577-be08e2e451e2?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_KSDK_News&fbclid=IwQ0xDSwL6NPRjbGNrAvo04mV4dG4DYWVtAjExAAEeJpI0LNwSAWNCdJnEB1Ij0QA1F__GT6HH1Yv-VdBIYiCIlTar7rGYNu3Ek_I_aem_PoyGFv9vUqVjV8SZtRCcWg

New non resident trout stamp
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
Well, I'm actually on a multi family vacation right now, as we speak. In Omaha, AR. We will be doing the Branson thing. Those numbers are quite high vs what our budgets are. My extended family dont really fish. I have a yearly NR license and trout tag to AR, I'm a MO resident. I have MO fish, small game and trout. I'm not into sports or golf, or many other things. I dont think most of the circle I hang with can justify those numbers as well. Just my take. -
New non resident trout stamp

I would reconsider taking my family due to that cost. It's really not about who's committed. My kids enjoy fishing, but not enough to pay that much for a possible 1 day (5 hours) of fishing while on vacation. We are a family of 5 so additional $200.00. That's of course in addition to the cost of NR license for 5. Then you consider the amount of times you have to try to convince the little ones this is supposed to be fun. It can really make one change their mind. Multiply that by the amount of people who are not "committed" and you can see where a business owner should be concerned. Fishing should be affordable. Camping should be affordable. Outdoors in general should be affordable. We are seeing one of the possible reasons kids dont go outside. -
2025 Flyfishing Fish Pics
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to FishnDave's topic in General Flyfishing Topics
I definitely would have been wrong if you asked me to identify them all. Especially since you said they are all different. I'm confident with the two crappie, long ear and green sunfish, I believe I've correctly picked the shadow bass and warmouth, bottom two i would have identified as bluegill. -
@Haris122, did you stop in to Lilley's and ask them about recommended baits and tackle? The fishing there is completely different techniques than in the St Louis area. Glad you are getting time to hang out down there just the same.

I bet it would still work.

I fished the Doe Run access. The water is up pretty well, considering we haven't been hit with alot of rain. I'm guessing Mississippi is up. It's very muddy and I couldn't find a decent access point. No fish caught. That's ok. I found Bigfoot in the middle of the woods. He uses a fishing pole just the same as mine. I also got soaking wet, and as soon as I got to the van, it stopped raining. Thats ok though, I got a double rainbow to make up for it.

Your style isn't wrong. If you catch fish you're doing it right. I appreciate all of the info sharing on here. As the old saying goes, there's more than one way to skin a cat. I like to see and hear about all options. If one way was "The Best" we wouldn't have so many options in the stores.

I have never shot it, bought it and it collects dust. I bought it used, but the string looks new. Everything included, St Louis area. If you have ultra light combos, or light combos I'm interested. Possibly lightweight flyrod, or other stuff collecting dust in your house may be of interest as well.

The owner was telling us about that.

Agreed, honestly.

You guys always seem to show me the things I don't have, didn't know about, don't need, but feel like I'm missing out on. This seems like a cool venture. Looking forward to the video.

Late report, my apologies. The usual suspects gathered yet again for another fest (feast). Myself, Cody @gotmuddy, DJ, Brandon @fmcbrandon, Ryan @Ryan Miloshewski, Ray, Asian Brandon, Rob, Kevin and a couple GreenHorns Mike and Dustin, made our way down to Flippin,AR to fish the White River during the Juneteenth weekend. Some great rainbows were caught by @fmcbrandon and @Ryan Miloshewski while on a guided trip Thursday. We all met at the Airbnb house on Thursday. The host warned us of the need for 4wd, but we are men.. we don't need no stinking 4wd.... famous last words. There may have been a need for a wrecker, and additional need for tow straps. Cody and Brandon brought boats, and we took turns within the boats. We had an opportunity to tie the boats off in front of the house, so Cody motored his up to the house. Greenhorn decided to take out Cody's boat Saturday evening, with Asian Brandon but neither had any clue how to operate the trolling motor. That was quite a funny event to watch. They may have even ran the boat out of fuel. We all fished Friday, it was brutally hot, the fish were not really active. Not many were caught. The ones in boats seemed to have the advantage to get lures into the deeper water where the fish were hidden. Friday evening Ryan needed internet signal to take care of a work situation, and had to drive to the top of the hill in the subdivision we were stying in. The road is a very narrow, one way gravel road, and did I mention 4wd needed? We found out why. Due to the heat, I stayed in the house Saturday Rob did as well. Rob went to town to get a cord to fix the wifi that we didn't have working in the cabin. No cell coverage either. Thankfully he got it working, we were able to watch movies as well as have wifi. We watched a few movies while talking and hanging out Saturday after dinner. Not many fishnwere caught, Asian Brandon still had not caught anything all weekend, and this was a gathering to celebrate his return home from Kuwait. Saturday evening while taking Cody's Boat back to the launch, Asian Brandon went to give it one last try. He caught one fish, the only person of 3 to catch that evening. He caught a nice Brown, I believe the only one of the trip. Sunday as we were leaving I tried to successfully navigate the gravel road out with my van, and I was not successful. Luckily Cody had a heavy tow strap, and Ray was still there with his 4wd truck. He pulled me up the hill, and we got out. On the highway on the way out of town, Cody's trailer hub started smoking, and he pulled over with a trashed bearing. Ray was able to take Cody to the parts store and they got it fixed. Oh, yeah, we had food. Lots of food. Smoked boneless, skinless chicken thighs, homeade deer kolaches, some extremely hot salsa, smoked brisket, smoked deviled eggs, amazing baked beans made with apple pie filling, huge breakfasts including scrambled eggs, bacon, deer bacon, biscuits and gravy. Amazing wild turkey and dumplings, smoked chicken wings, shrimp and pasta, deer brats, smoked trout dip, huge homeade cinnamon rolls with homeade chocolate eclair cake and cheese cake for desert. I'm certainly missing other foods. GreenHorn Dustin brought a bunch of homeade wine, it was so good.

Wife and I took a week to celebrate our 20 year anniversary, rented a lake cabin on Johnson Lake. The area is beautiful and our cabin's rear deck was over the lake. The water was very clear. I read there would be bass and catfish in the lake. The second cast on the first day produced a bluegill. I was pretty excited. I didn't catch another fish for days. I fished early mid day, evening, nothin. I seen bass, but could not tempt any to take my offerings. I wonder if they were still in spawn. The bluegill seemed line shy, as i seen them as well. I finally went down to 2 lb clear mono and got some takes, but couldn't keep them pinned, until I tried the skating caddis from our most recent fly swap. Fishing was tough. I tried flies, rubber bugs, rubber worms, jerk baits, crank baits, power bait and Berkley minnows. Nothing. We had a great time together anyhow. The mountains were beautiful. I recommend the trip. Chattanooga Zoo is small, and a neat experience, but St Louis Zoo is much more enjoyable and free. The aquariums are well worth the money in Chattanooga. My first catch. I caught someone's net, which someone else broke off a white jig. I'm no Ronnie Moore.... one of the teasing bass. this Was at Rock City Garden. Very cool place to visit. Ruby falls, beautiful, but very commercialized, and not a great customer experience. Dinner at the Canyon Grill. It was good. our cabin is on the left.

Sorry for the mis identifications. I had luck on the skating cadis this week in GA. Report on another thread.

I wasn't aware they were in there. Interesting, let us know if you got into them. -
Crazy Tuna Fishing

I wish they still made comfy shorts like the blue ones. Loose fit was always my favorite. Shirts too. -

Not really tippy, I thought it may be. I hemmed and hawed with the idea of a thwart. It doesn't seem to affect it noticeably, for now. I read people's comments on both sides of the idea, and decided if I felt I needed one I could add it later. I honestly don't have much canoeing experience to judge speed, but it's much faster and easier than the one man pontoon I made. And the 8 foot mouse boats I made.

Well, the day finally came. I got tontake it out yesterday. It did well, tracks more left while paddling. When cruising downstream it ends up floating backwards. I believe it may be due to seat position. I did catch 3 species of sunfish, on flies I tied on a rod I made, in the canoe I built. All in all, sucess.

Yes, it was purely awesome. It was one of those days that will probably never be repeated for me. We honestly could not get them NOT to bite. Believe me when I say Cody @gotmuddy tried, LOL. @Seth Was a great captain, it was really cool to be able to fish like we did. The water was rippping quite hard, and the fish were hungry.
