  1. Some avatars showing incude quilback, slothman, and Phil in this thread. Not the others.
  2. I will have to "sharpen my pen" but if memory serves me right, it is the same as auto insurance. Anything lost from the boat that is not permanently attached, would be covered on your homeowners policy, not your boat policy. I.e. tackle, rods, reels. Etc.
  3. Yes. I have 3 licensed craft. None have insurance as I stay on creeks and rivers. They don't have enough monetary value for me to consider a policy. My family and I are all who use them.
  4. That was the last time Billy told Bubba that his trout ......(insert caption).
  5. What's the story with the trophy?
  6. No.. say it ain't so. Lol. She can back it.
  7. I didn't realize you were leaving so soon. I thought you still had another week. Glad you have already got into them. Keep us updated on the NE. Glad the family is back together safely.
  8. As well as reported on the micro fishing Madness topic John and I went micro fishing. Firstly I wanted to thank John again for taking his time of his day and showing me how to do this really cool sport. Secondly I looked on YouTube to watch some videos to see if there was any other tips or tricks I can find, but all of the fish they were catching were much larger then the fish John taught me how to catch. So just wanted to put this out there, when John is showing his micro fishing pictures he's working a whole lot harder than the videos on YouTube. He's putting it in a whole lot more dedication then what I can find online. So if you were watching the micro fishing videos online thinking that is what he does, he has it fine-tuned a whole lot more, and better than what those guys are doing. He taught me how to find, and catch single fish. Not just throw out a line and bobber. Just wanted to give credit, and thanks. If he didn't offer to bring me out, I would not have seen the detail, and specific way. Nor would it be as enjoyable. Can you tell I'm excited!?
  9. I will be looking into that. You are the second person who I heard say that. Was that a pun? If not, great use of auto correct.
  10. Great reports! Thank you for sharing.
  11. I believe Ronnie has a tank set up with creek fish.
  12. I really had an excellent time. I got to meet Livie in person, and meet John again. Upon arrival at the creek, John handed me some parting gifts. The tiniest fishing hooks that I could have imagined, but even then, tinier. He also gave me a bag to hold and picture the fish caught. Livie told me how the bags are acquired, and explained how to respond to the clerks who inquire about the "party". We proceeded to get ready for the water. As was stated above, I finally got to use some waders I bought from another member on here. They worked beautifully. Once we got into the water, John and Livy where showing me how to tie these little bitty hooks , and John was showing me the massive amount of worm that he used. I asked many questions, and John was more than happy to answer. They were showing me fish after we got in the water and fish that they could see right off. I seen movement, but could not focus on individual fish. After a few minutes I was able to focus on the fish. Livie jumped right In after a mad Tom, and got him. She showed that she was not afraid to get wet or dirty as she caught him with her hands. While John and I talked, prepping me for what I would be looking for and how to do this micro fishing business, Livie picked up a pole and brought in a few fish. We proceeded to chase fish, and John could tell right off what they were just by how they were moving. John and Livie had the best focus of anyone that I have ever met. They could see these tiny fish, when just the head would protrude out of the rock. It took me awhile sometimes to see what they were showing me, but towards the end of the day I felt very accomplished by their teachings. I told John once of the story of seeing a very colorful fish that resembled a tropical aquarium fish when I was a teenager. John then told me what he thought it was, a rainbow darter. I have heard of darters, but never thought I would chase after them. I looked the picture up and believed that he was right. He told me that he could show me how to catch one, and said if we could meet up one day he would really enjoy showing me. Yesterday was the day and I am very proud to say that after 20 years I was able to catch the fish that I tried to catch with my hands in front of my girlfriend at the time and failed. Livie is a true sport, she enjoys fishing and even more, she enjoys turtles. Especially turtles named Greg. Thank you John and Livie for inviting me to fish with you, and for teaching me a new way to fish. I really think this will steal alot of my time on lunch breaks, and I I am very grateful for the knowledge that you have shared.
  13. I camped there Friday night. I did not fish. Seems passenger in a 4 door car holding a stringer outside of the window.
  14. The good on top always made me uncomfortable. Other than that, I liked the cooked version.
  15. That is cool!
  16. I had a great time. DBlades was very nice in letting me ride with him on his boat. He took me to some great spots, and helped me fish. We got fish at most of the locations we went to. I really couldn't tell you where they were if I wanted to. He told me which bait to use, and It performed for me. The weather was great, the food was better! Thanks to Quillback and Muddy Water for holding down the fort for us at the "pavilion". To bad it was just big bass, because DBlades caught a 250 pounder out of there. Maybe a few more pounds including the water logging. I managed to fall out of the boat (within the first 30 minutes), and he helped me back to safety. The water was cold. Very cold. Luckily I was camping nearby and did have a change of clothes. He drove me back to the dock, and made sure I was ok and we went back to it. I cant wait till next year, and I will have a change of clothes from now on. LOL. but very serious. OH, and yes I did have on my life jacket. No he did not push me. I was on the rear casting deck picking up a rod, next thing, I was grabbing for the boat. No rods were harmed in the making of this blunder.
  17. We had a lot of rain come over the last couple of weeks, after the creek was ultra low. Big water started flowing through. I took my son to the creek to our secret spot. The bank is steep and was still very soft under the first inch or two. We decided not to try to go down, as we would hae a really hard time to come back up. And the bank would probably suck us down into the mud. We decided to fish ibn the hole by the bridge, where everyone fishes. I snagged on something and broke off my HD Craw. Then I tied on the Ned. I had something play with it,probably a sunfish. Snagged and broke off around the same area I lost my HD Craw. Sun was going down, it started cooling down, we rode our bikes back home.
  18. Of course!
  19. You don't like Vick's? You haven' had it prepared right. Lol. We Eastsiders know how to cook Vick's. Come on over and I will serve you the best you've ever had. (Kinda taste like tide pods when done right).
  20. Got some great smiles this morning. YOU guys rock.
  21. Yep, that time of year again. Renew your license by the end of February. Stop in and see your favorite tackle dealer and support the small business.
