  1. Looks like I'm going to Times Beach . Have never stepped foot there, hopefully I cone come back with an extra one . Thanks for the tips guys, I will wet a line and return with a report.
  2. Thank you for the link. I know that Flamm City is to low to launch. I'm curious how far up until I will have access to the water.
  3. In the St Louis area, where can I launch a canoe on a trailer? Have a trolling motor, would like to use it. I want to take advantage of the clear water just to look around. A fish caught would be a bonus. Just was told that I have the next two days off. Have to burn vacation.
  4. Sound neat.
  5. The machinist jobs I've seen, don't pay like the jobs of yesteryear. The benefits are hollowed out, and the ones you will work with are not the quality of the past. You are typically hired on as a temp, and they pay just barely over some restaurants.
  6. Yes, I know that it could be significant, and am aware of the apps. I have a hard time ethically deciding whether or not it should be work related. I mean, if I go to a local mall while I am visiting a customer 20 miles from the office, should that be split in half.....? Just one of the mental challenges. Again, my contribution is small compared to my usage. I really don't mind. Then trying to recap all of the stops I made in a week, etc. It's much easier now to track, but I am stuck in my way.
  7. Very neat to read this. Thanks for sharing that. This is one of the things that keep me lurking.
  8. I don't have much as far as income is concerned. I have 3 kids and two working adults. We mortgage our house and have a vehicle payment. I own an insurance agency, and do not file for everything that I could to minimize taxes. I do a lot of driving and have for the 12 years that I have owned it. I do not take mileage deduction. It is to much to keep track of in my opinion. I don't mind paying taxes. I love the roads that I have access to, and could not afford to maintain them with the little amount that I pay. Not to mention the public schools and services that my family uses. I do like the idea of flat tax and that is it. No property tax, sales tax, estate tax, gas tax, cell phone tax...etc.
  9. Congrats Phil and family.
  10. Found Holzer this afternoon. Happened to meet Harris122 while there. I really hope you are able to catch whatever was playing with your line.
  11. I haven't fished at Flamm City. The water has been super low. I haven't caught any whites in The Meramec. I haven't been able to catch anything there. Just usually walk around the area during lunch break. I work in Arnold at Advance.
  12. Ok, I will check that out. I have sat at the bridge, under 55 and fished in the rising waters with no luck on lunch a few times. I will venture to that side sometime.
  13. Thanks Harris. I think I know the park. It has the big walking trail just off the highway?
  14. I really enjoyed many of his posts. I' glad he is doing well. Thanks for the update.
  15. Please update us with the details from the bands.
  16. Where is Lower Meramec Park? Haven't heard of it.
  17. Wow, not even tax season yet.
  18. These tests show line that is below the water line end to end. I am curious if the line transmits light from the sun from above the water similar to the effect of a glow stick, down to the bait. The argument of red transferring less ofthe the light would seem plausible.
  19. Sorry to hear this.
  20. Yes, got my streets mixed up. At the tee, across from the park. I have been in the store, never bought anything there.
  21. Lol. Are you referencing the one on Wyoming, or South Side Cyclery? That is where I grew up (sorta).
  22. We need an "east coast " day. I am generally off on weekends. I live in Festus, but am no stranger to the whole stl area.
  23. Been wondering where you've been smalliebigs. Nice report.
