  1. What does the mussel "nymph"(?) gain by being attached to fish gills ? Verses just being expelled into the water ? It doesn't feed on the fish in parasite fashion, right? And it can't function as a filter feeder while being clamped onto anything. Therefore the mussel is not dependant on the bass in order to effectively reproduce. Correct? Cute video, but what have we actually learned here ?
  2. It's all speculative, and not anything you can depend on. Falling lake levels truly only dependably effect fish that are occupying large shallow flats. And the mild current produced upstream during dam generation does NOT herd shad out of the coves and onto main lake points. I know this is a long held belief, but if such was the case, then every shad in the lake would eventually be located within a few miles of the dam. Shad are inherently riverine creatures, and are far more prone to pointing their nose UPSTREAM. Only DEAD FISH go with the flow !
  3. Where'd that name come from? Are there new owners, or something?

All the more reason to support hard working, tax paying, vegetable farmers.
  5. What's it say ? πŸ€”
  6. A tiny snap that would allow you to change your trailing fly might be an improvement.
  7. Fly floatant. Fly line cleaner. Car wax. Tire Shine. Kills fleas on a dog. Cures athletes foot. Pomade. Treating the fancy cutting board that you made your mom in Jr. High shop class...... The list goes on & on. WD-40, Duct tape, and CRISCO...... That's all you need ! Oh, and TIE STRAPS !!!! You could build an empire !
  8. Crisco on carpeted bunks is an old hack. Melt it, and paint it on liberally. Lasts a good long time.
  9. Not Capitalized. 😁 And only in the Scrabble dictionary I think.
  10. There are 2 ramps in Cartwright, and 2 in Blue Cat cove. (135-3) that I use fairly frequently. Nobody cares, but you'll need a lake level of 657.5+ for any of them. And then there is Mallard Bay in Proctor cr. (J Rd. off 135)
  11. Now wait a minute boys. All we know about Vladimir Putin is what our media feeds us. Are y'all ready to suddenly start believing every story they spin? If so then there's ALOT of people, events, and things to consider. For all that any of us honestly know, Putin could very well be a kind, fair, and generous man. Don't you think that if he truly was the evil monster that he is portrayed to be, that someone would have taken him out by now?
  12. Holy cow! That White needs to either spawn or poop, not sure which. πŸ˜… What a pig !
  13. Yeah it was a rush. Started out with the typical freight train sound that everyone always describes, then begins to sound like a 747 headed for the house, then about 2 minutes worth of the highest pitch scream that you can imagine. Followed by immediate dead silence. Creepy as hell. It all plays out in my head over and over, even 15+ years later.
  14. Look at the freight on this one !
  15. Guys get plum ate up with this kinda stuff. When I worked underground cable construction they had to fire guys that couldn't keep from sifting through our trenches and earth saw cuts. We got paid hourly PLUS footage.....and if you had several guys on the crew that spent all day picking around in the piles of dirt, you couldn't get anything done. It never failed, things would be going along fabulously, and then all of a sudden somebody would notice "flakes".....and our footage quota for the day would go straight to hell. πŸ™„ Somebody would fail to show up, and you'd ask "Where's So-n-so"? "He got fired for being an uncontrollable archeologist". πŸ˜‚
  16. Form your loop horizontal instead of vertical when casting flys that are heavily weighted. You do that by moving the rod tip in an elongated oval path. A straight inline (dry fly style) cast will get you hurt, or break your rod. Once you get to 1/40oz.or bigger barbell eyes it pretty much takes a 7wt. line to get the job done.
  17. The loudest thing I ever heard was an F3 tornado in my living room. My ears have been ringing non-stop since March 12 '06
  18. When was the last time you filleted a mess of fish, hotshot? As much as you like to post stolen internet photos I'm sure you wouldn't pass up the opportunity to take pics and brag about your latest bucket of fish. But for the life of me I can't recall a single report as of late. Just pics of you when you were like 12 or something. πŸ€”
  19. As long as he remains hunkered behind a pile of sand bags there probably shouldn't be any claims of victory. πŸ€”
  20. LOL, try telling your wife you are going to stay at one of their houses overnight. Then she says what's his name, and you say @Ketchup . Then have to explain that you dont know his real name, nor met him. Hell of a good dudeπŸ‘ Doesn't put out on the first date though. πŸ˜…
  21. Are you within my 3 county travel zone? If so please post a pic. πŸ™‚ I'm in Morgan co. (West side of Lake O)
  22. Outboard motor noise is coming from the intake as much as the exhaust tube. Do you know why a 4-stroke is inherently quieter than a 2-stroke ? Because there's something more solid than sets of metal or carbon reeds between your ears and the combustion chamber. That box mounted to the front of the carb(s) or air intake on a 2-stroke is called an "Air Silencer" for a reason...... although many insist on calling it the "air filter". It ain't a filter.
  23. I tinkered with something similar for White bass, and determined that if they wouldn't bite any of the usual offerings then they wouldn't bite that either. Came back a couple hours later and it didn't matter what you had tied on.....you were gonna load the boat. So I scrapped the idea. I'll stay tuned in hopes that you can figure out something I didn't. πŸ‘

For the cost of that contraption you could buy enough premium veggies to get you through 5 years. You "gardening types" are a sight to behold. πŸ™„
  25. I'm a certified outboard tech., (last certification was 2012) with a distant background in Mercruiser and OMC Stringer & Cobra stern drives.....and all sorts of marine repair BS. I've done work on single Crusader engine, as well as dual and quad-engine SHIPS. Basically a SHIP is a vessel capable of carrying a load (whether cargo or passengers) without need for ballast.....but having ballast capability as an option. Technically a Wake Boat could be considered a "ship".
