  1. Definitely not worth it. The less you can invest in that motor, the better off you'll be. Jus'sayin. 🤷‍♂️
  2. Everyone is loosing their minds around here, as if the trumpets of Armageddon have sounded. I'm just not feeling it. My meteorologist testicles haven't begun to tingle at all. I'll be surprised if we get 4" since that's all I have to support them. If anything less than 5" is going to fall....then there's never a tingle.
  3. The bassboat rental gig will never work. It has been tried over and over, and it is a loosing proposition. No rental customer is going to be willing to pay what it would take to make operating a boat rental outlet a worthwhile business move. The only reason pontoon rentals can barely make the cut is because typically you have 5-7 people chipping in on each daily rental.
  4. Utah, hu? Wow 😳. I remember years ago they were having CutBows (rainbow/cutthroat hybrids) hauled in from..... somewhere. They were kinda pretty but I don't recall ever seeing one over 14-15". Whaddya reckon it's costing for that equipment to sit there 24/7 ? I'm thinking it has to be in the neighborhood of 400.00/hr. That's 67,000.00 per week. Just shy of 300k per month.......And they say it's going to take until June or July to complete. We're talking 2mil. and you haven't even paid any workers their hourly wage yet, nor paid for any materials. If this doesn't result in the Niangua river becoming a destination trout fishery after completion....... I'll always wonder why not. Maybe ol'Charlie knows what he's doing after all...... with his neverending construction... the likes of the Winchester mansion. At the very least, just MAYBE we could get a KFC, Subway, or a McDonald's somewhere near there. I'm tired of eating Vienna sausages and SunChips for lunch.
  5. They've always been awesome in my opinion. The only problem is that the older Precision Blend models have too many NLA parts. (No Longer Available) The Pro series and newer Yamaha 2-stroke motors are still being supported, and parts are still available. I snatch up every one of them that I can get my hands on. The Pro 50 especially.... Absolutely Awesome Outboard!!! 👍
  6. Freedom of choice should be INDIVIDUAL too. A buddy/customer of mine didn't want to get the vax, but was goaded into it by his wife who happens to be a nurse, and kept bitching at him every day until finally he said "FINE". About a week after his second shot he dropped dead while running a trotline. Not overweight, not an alcoholic, non-smoker (but he did chew), no underlying health issues at all. Everytime somebody tells me they are getting vax'ed I just hope for the best. 😳 Flip a coin, I guess. I have a feeling that ALOT of those cases have happened....but nobody reports it. And you know darn well that no "cause of death" investigation is being done when it does. If they had tested my buddy..... I bet they would have declared that it was the Copenhagen that caused it. 🙄
  7. If I have to use one I choose the white Fish Pimp football shaped ones, but only because they have dimples like a golf ball that make it easier to see in all different light conditions. The smooth surface ones, in clear water, sometimes I can't tell if they are on the surface or have been pulled a few inches underneath. The little dimples help my eyes determine that. Rings or ribs around the circumference of the bobber would probably do the same.
  8. Matt Tucker and Brian Wise said the exact same thing. So I stood at the heavy run at Jack's on the NFOW and proved that it works just fine. 2 fish to hand, and another rolled to the surface in under 15 minutes. 45-55 feet away. If your line crosses opposing currents then it gets harder to do......but it's still not impossible. You just have to look for the best place to stand, and you might have to throw in an additional mend (which you'd have to do with an indicator also). Honestly, the only place where I find it impossible to "set the trap" is in really slow water.
  9. Cute little bugger 🤗
  10. It's REALLY cool. I've never installed a bunch of them, and took them out to play with them. But I just don't think I want it on my boats. I have a feeling that once guys do that for awhile they'll eventually tire of it.....but won't want to fish without it.....so they'll take up golf. Which is ok with me. 😁
  11. Possibly, not sure. Allegedly it's ok to have "dry" Teflon in the grease..... but not liquified in the oil. Who knows 😏.
  12. It doesn't get any more POLITICAL than LIVESCOPE! 😂🤣😁 Nice try tho. 😉
  13. My daughter actually does best with a #12. It's an all purpose dry. Could be a mayfly, could be a caddis, could be a ball of midges or a ball of trico's. Nevertheless it seldom gets refused. If a fish moves towards it then it's going to eat it. When it comes to fishing dry flys in the winter..... Go big or go home! That 22-26 midge or trico 7x BS ain't for me. 🙂 Especially when my hands are cold.
  14. Or..... don't read what doesn't interest you. Have you visited the prayer page today? Didn't think so. 🙄
  15. Dalmatian Trude #14 🙂👍 Or a Griffiths gnat #18-20
  16. No doubt. Slow slick water and a zebra midge bite..... it's either put on a bobber, or just go drink beer. That probably why I'm not a huge fan of tailwater fisheries.
  17. Any time you pinch an indicator on your leader it is as if your concentration stops THERE. If all you care about is catching some fish then FINE it's plenty effective. But there's something zen, magical, or whatever about allowing my concentration to go all the way to the point of the hook. It just makes the whole process immune from boredom. 🙂 If I'm going to concentrate on something floating on the surface then I'd rather be trying to pull one up to kiss a dry fly.
  18. There's been several times when I would have been willing to trade them both for a single hamster. My wife's favorite thing to say is...."You just had to have a dog, now DEAL WITH IT".
  19. It sho'nuff helps the hookup ratio. A fish taking a fly on a tightline swing will oftentimes try to take the rod out of your hands. It's not because the fish is hammering the fly..... it's because the fish gets hooked the second he closes his mouth on it, and he FREAKS ! 😁
  20. I wish they'd take one of those badass electron microscopes that they bought with taxpayer dollars, and give one of those little spikey buggers a hit off of a Marlboro, a splash of Devil's Cut, and a sniff of carb cleaner and maybe some old gear lube...... And then let's see how perky he is. 🤔 I'm guessing he'll become just another dust particle.
  21. Sorry, I've already reached my quota of biologist buddies. If I collect any more then they'll invariably start fighting amongst themselves. And I refuse to referee, or pick sides. 🙄
  22. Traditional nymphing, the way I was taught, has no bobber involved. It's all about line control and line management. Basically you are setting a trap with each drift. Just enough slack so that the fly drifts with the current.....but just tight enough that if anything intercepts the fly then everything begins immediately tightening up. As soon as you notice things tightening up.... sweep set immediately. Usually the tightening line has already started the hook point into its jaw. A 100% true "dead drift" is never necessary...... thankfully, because that's impossible anyway. The faster the water....the better the initial hookset. Takes practice but works flawlessly in everything except dead slow water. Get it mastered and you'll consistently outfish the best indicator -nymphers in the world. It's harder for a fish to eject a hook that has tension on it. 👍
  23. Well yeah, it just makes sense 👍 The germ has to get in you and make it's way to your organs while it's still alive. Kill the little bastard before he can get anywhere.....and your good. Doesn't take rocket science to figure that out ! 😁
  24. That'll never work. If you take a shot every 30 minutes then you'll pass out before noon. Ya gotta have something to kill the microbes in between cleanses. I'm only good for 4-5 shots per day. Any more than that and I'm useless. Total lightweight.
