1. The delay happens for a reason. Either weather conditions or water conditions are such that egg depositing (ON TIME) would be a huge fail. Mother Nature knows best.
2. I'm real curious what the recruitment percentage is for this year's class of graduates. I bet it has plummeted drastically.
3. That's fine, I'd rather give the money to the victim of that shooting, than to spend it all on examining mail-order ticks...... or whatever else stupid project they've dreamed up to waste money on.
4. I always preferred the South fork ramp because it has the best access to the lower Middle and Elk fork arms.....which is where you want to be in the Spring. It is also the quickest area to settle down and clear up (if you can call it "clearing"). Forget that the lower end of the lake even exists, and you'll do better on MT.
5. Probably because they are tired of playing the game. More IMPORTANT things to do.
6. Outside his 5 County limit. That's right. I'll pass on being a tourist angler. No desire to fish where I'm afraid to swim. I look too much like a 200# Zara Spook.
7. Does that guy even get on here anymore?
8. Told ya you'd be fine in the morning. Chalk up another one for Dr.Wrench ! 👍
9. Definitely. There was a nice long spell of warm-enough weather.....but they can't get up into the creeks until the lake level stays at 657.4+ for a couple days.
10. The Whites at Lake O are just now beginning to run up the creeks. First run of males started 4 days ago. Pretty much a full month later than usual.
11.
The Missouri Department of Conservation was managing a turkey hunt at the time of the shooting, and a sign near the entrance of the trail stated that the hunt was ongoing until 1 p.m,
Was this one of those lameass special MDC things where they give a seminar, and then take urbanites out so they can "experience outdoor sports" ? If so, then I hope the hiker sues them for so much that they can never afford to do it again.
12. First thoroughly wash your hands and face with soap and water. Flush your eyes with some of this.... Then do 2 shots of whiskey, drink a full glass of ice water, put on some Conway Twitty and think of the saddest thing you can imagine, cry your @$$ off, and then go to bed. You'll be fine in the morning.
13. The way everybody is "packing" these days.....that dog is going to end up bleeding out, right there in your driveway. 😥 Nobody that has a gun on their person, is going to just let a dog chew on them.....or even act like it might chew on them.
14. Yep they'll wear you out, for sure. After battling a 10-12 pounder I'm not exactly in the mood to immediately do it again. Same with Gar.
15. A big part of sport-fishing has to do with where you're doing it. Carp are notorious for living in ugly parts of the country. I can only take so much of prowling around in mucky nasty stagnant backwaters before I get depressed and start drinking heavily, and looking forward to taking a shower. I got all excited about fly fishing for carp, scouted out several good places, tied up flys and made special leaders, ect. I had some success and lasted about a week or so at it.....then I got sick of it. I couldn't care less if I never do it again.
16. I'm assuming you're referring to the top one? 😳
17. If you can get a dealer to agree to a 100 day service contract (most will if pressed) without upping the price, then that's about as good a deal as you can get. Just don't insult them by offering less than 90% of their asking price.
18. Kinda depends on what a person is looking to buy. Waiting time on a specific model with specific options can take 2-3 months for delivery. Tons of overpriced used boats out there. Plenty of fairly reasonable deals on boats in various states of dis-repair. Mostly situations where some shade-tree mechanic attempted to fix something and just made it worse. The only problem with that is that by the time you buy it.....then pay someone to fix it RIGHT, you've spent more than it's worth. Unless you're familiar with the boat & motor in question, and know what to look for..... you're probably gonna get hosed. That's just the way it is.
19. Thanks Mitch! 😊 I agree 😁
20. He's actually a really good guy, there's just something I've done or said in the past that he can't seem to get over. I'd apologize and attempt to make it right with him IF I knew what I did/said....and if I was actually sorry for doing/saying it. But I don't think I've done/said anything to be sorry for.
21. I went nose to nose with a polish dude in New York over how to unload a truck. I was sho-nuff ready to fight ! Plus had 2 other near donnybrooks during the 4 days I was there. The people there are confrontational as all hell. It wasn't just me either, because a fight broke out where we were staying 3 of the 4 days. People screaming and throwing things at each other everywhere, all the time.
22. No, but I've seen similar scenes acted out in numerous movies. I think my favorite was in Steel Magnolias. Or maybe it was Sweet Home Alabama.
23. I've seen more than enough people and their cars already. I'm sick of them all.
24. I finished work early and was going to go fishing last Wednesday, hooked up and headed to the ramp, and when I got there the parking lot was nearly full and there was 5-7 trucks/trailers waiting to launch. I'm SO GLAD that I was only a mile from home. I spun around and went right back home. Could have driven several miles to a different ramp, but what were the odds that they'd be any different? And once out on the lake, there they'd all be. Screw it !
25. What I hate most about traveling, and what truly sucks the fun out of it for ME....is the ridiculous number of people that are always doing it at the same time. I don't care how scenic or awesome an area is, driving through it, or visiting it along with an armada of 50,000 other vehicles and 200,000 other people just makes it suck worse than staying home and cutting grass. Have you ever wanted a hotdog at a State Fair, but when you got close to the hotdog stand you decided that it just wasn't worth fighting through all the people to get one? Everything is like that now. Every place is a State Fair. Every day.
