  1. The lifespan of fuel these days appears to be about 3 months in a sealed system, and about half as long in a vented system. It's normal for people to expect to get back out.....but Life Happens sometimes.....so it's common for folks to go out and notice that their outboard is running like crap.
  2. Here's the deal: With a carbureted engine that has adjustable idle jets.... Tuning with fresh fuel that has any type of additive in it, you can turn the jet almost a full turn before noticing any change. Dump that out and get fresh fuel with no additive at all.....and immediately 1/4 turn makes a noticable difference in how the engine idles and accelerates. Now, what does THAT tell you? If you're going to carefully calculate and measure the amount of additive, per gallon of fuel, each time you get gas...... then fine......but honestly, who wants to do that?
  3. I can tell you THIS: On a computer controlled, fuel injected engine.....it shouldn't matter whether there is any additives in the fuel, or not. On analog carbureted engines.....any type of additive in the fuel.... is detrimental.
  4. Right on, man! 👍. What part of the lake are y'all picking on ? We need more rain here in the Gravois. I'm starting to notice a pattern..... When this arm of the lake rises from backwater, here come the Hybrids. But when we get a good flow from these creeks, that's when the Whites really show up. Right now the Whites are kinda spotty, and Hybrids are scattered everywhere.
  5. Right on👍 Tell him to be sure to DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE, and rectify that along the way.
  6. The rain helps ! 👍
  7. This is a thread about Badminton. What are YOU talking about. 😅😂😁
  8. I ain't believing that. 🙄 Dig deep.....DEEP...... No, DEEPER! Find one with tooth scratches all over it, and post a pic of it ! 😅 I've got several FLOATING Rapala's with tooth prints on them. 👍
  9. Everybody has THEIR GAME. For some it's Billiards, Basketball, Cornhole, ect. My brother is a genuine wizard on a Foosball table. (The best I've ever seen) For me it's Badminton. I just groove with it. Been a beast at it my whole life, and never really met a worthy opponent. 🤷‍♂️
  10. After pummeling every college kid, and high school athlete that came around, as well as everyone from the local Pickleball club..... Nobody will play me anymore. 😢
  11. Ah yes, the lovely SINKING RAPALA 🙄 Is there ANYONE in the history of sport fishing.....that has EVER cleaned out the peg of sinking rapala's at the tackle shop ? The longest living worthless lure of all time! Yet everyone owns a few. 😅
  12. Well because their "Choir" (as if you could call it that) is "performing" there .... they were supposedly getting a grand deal 🙄 Yeah....So much for THAT ! Those girls are wanting a new BIGGER pool and all kinds of other coolness this summer, and they are going to be devastated when they realize that they shot their whole wad for the entire summer during a week long trip to Disneyland. The level of disappointment and pissiness throughout the remainder of Summer around here is going to be epic. 🫣 What I need to do is make a giant collage of all the pictures they are taking, so I can hang it on the living room wall....and point at it everytime they want to spend money this Summer.
  13. Sugarbritches and the youngest kid are currently at Disney with her choir group. This has cost almost 4k so far....and last night they called to inform me that their spending cash was going FAST. 😳 I'm blown away that almost 30 families from this area could afford to do this trip. According to the school it was going to be 1400.00 back in February when the reservations were being made.....and it has been going up exponentially ever since. They've taken another kid under their wing because the poor girl ran out of money the FIRST DAY THERE. It cost 118.00 for the three of them to eat last night....and it wasn't anything that fancy. What is it with that place???!!! I'd like to kick Mickey Mouse, and whoever planned this trip, right in the face !
  14. The way I see it, it is a huge gamble otherwise. So many companies go tits-up, or eventually sell out and the guys/gals that actually made the company what it is/was... get the shaft. The marina owner that I started in this business with made the bad mistake of leaving me to run the place while he and his bride went on an extended vacation. At that time I got to experience the actual income the place was pulling in, and then it dawned on me that I WAS the one doing most all of the actual work. I realized that even if I had 1/10th of the clientele that they had, that I would be making 5 times more money....and would get to call my own shots. I hung in there for 15 more months....and then started my own business. Never regretted it for even a second.
  15. I wasn't trying to talk you into it. I was merely pointing out that there are ways to make money on your own. Independent of any present employer.
  16. You've dragged your feet too long I'm afraid. Those boys are booked solid until well after the best bite window.
  17. Depends on where you're guiding, I suppose. The boys around here are making 400-600 a day, plus tips. And not burning much gas. A few have already paid off their loans for the entire year by Livescoping Spoonbill.
  18. If you're bass fishing, a #1 or #2 hook usually results in a fish hooking itself....at least partially....which makes strike detection alot easier on a crawdad fly. Of course that's with standard hooks and dumbbell eyes. Not sure about using jigheads.
  19. Cool !
  20. What all are you going to be selling? We'll have to stop by. 👍
  21. Everybody has their price.
  22. From what we've seen from you lately....you could be doing guide trips. 👍
  23. Damaged props are INSURANCE CLAIMS so I just replace them. I've not worked with Cool Breeze personally, but I've never heard or been told anything negative. To my knowledge they are the ONLY prop shop we have here at Lake O.
