  1. A bargain at twice the price !
  2. Swap the coils and see if it moves the problem. Or did you already confirm that? If not then it's the primary voltage to the coil.
  3. That's a great idea if you only fish lakes/pits/ponds.
  4. Sure, if you want. Just be gentle with those precious high dollar O-rings.
  5. I've been in a bunch of swaps. The only fly I ever actually used (for real) that came from a swap was a fly Fox Statler tied, called a "Spinner'd Minner". I just had to see if it worked. I have a collection of truly famous ones living in Altoid tins with their little toe tags still on 'em. I have a Trout Crack from John Wilson, a Cock'nBalls and a rubber legged Prince from Brian Wise, a wine colored Condom worm from Jimmy T., a Sparkleminnow from Greg Coffey, a Mohair leech from Mike Kruse, a Professor from Davy Wotton, a crawdad from BigDaddyHubbard, and a few others I can't think of right now that definitely belong in the fly-tying hall of fame. I even still have one from a dude on the old Conservation Cafe that absolutely HATED me. I mean that dude hated me so bad that I actually thought he might show up at my house one day and shoot me in the face. I kept the fly and told my wife, at the time, that if I ever got murdered unexpectedly to get the DNA from the dude that tied that fly and track him down for questioning.
  6. So basically it is running on #1 and #3. You have already verified good compression and good spark, so that leaves nothing to cause the loss of cylinder#2 but fuel and air. Either the spark plugs is bad, or the #2 fuel injector is either failing or is not being fired. You can unplug the injector and fire it manually with a 9v transistor battery to see if it clicks, but to test the primary voltage to the injector requires a peak reading voltmeter (which you probably don't have). The air injector is an unlikely culprit BUT there was a recall once upon a time on the black air injectors, the new ones that replaced them are blue. Personally I've never run across a bad air injector....just read about it. My understanding is that a cylinder drop test done at idle will not show a problem with an air injector. But having never experienced one actually failing I'm not sure about that. A broken reed valve is a possibility, but that usually causes some noise (whistling/popping) that you would have noticed and mentioned.
  7. Which Opti are you running? Not a V6? Should be 90psi/fuel.....80psi/air. No? If it's a 3 cylinder then I'll have to research it, I don't know off the top of my head. Have you taken a fuel sample from the VS to be sure there's no water in it?
  8. If a guy has been busting his rump fishing tournaments for 7 years, bucking the expenses all along the way, and then FINALLY has a good day and gets a fat check.... it's a genuine kick in the nuts to have Uncle Sam standing at his mailbox with his hand out demanding a slice of it. Interest on boat loan=deductible. Tackle expenses=deductible. Fuel & oil=deductible. Mileage (or fuel) on tow vehicle? Maintenance? Lodging? Entry fees? I had 1099's up to 16-18k in '93-94 and I didn't have to pay in anything. And that was with a little old lady down the road filing my taxes.
  9. They are dandy little fishing crafts. I had a Bass Tracker version when I was a teenager, caught a lot of fish out of it. I used to put a sandbag in the back so I could stand in the front of it.
  10. Yeah you did! You typed your reply into the Quote box. It's ok though, I was able to decipher it.
  11. I can't believe we've made it through April almost without at least one good gully washer. These creeks need a flush badly.
  12. Yeah they are stressing me out with that crap. I went yesterday to make sure no whites had made the jump, but nope nothing but some big old gizzard shad up in the creek. They won't make it across the flat until the level gets closer to 658.
  13. However y'all caught'em last year will probably work pretty good. If you can't catch some bass in May then you might as well take up golf.
  14. As long as you don't let them get dirty, slimey, or wet, they seem to perform ok.
  15. I despise trailer hooks on Spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. I have had a few occasions where I missed a big bite that I would have undoubtedly hooked if I would have had a trailer hook on, but I'm not gonna fuss with the stupid things just because of that. Odds are if the fish didn't get stuck then it will take a swipe at something else, and that time maybe I will get it stuck. I like a plastic trailer on Spinnerbaits/buzzbaits, and a trailer hook interferes with that terribly.
  16. Didn't the MDC agent tell you "they shot it"? Yeah a quick round to the head is the way to dispatch a critter that is in a bad way. Lights out nice and quick.
  17. You're on speed dial for roadkill ! I hope they tested it for CWD.
  18. Woops, forgot which thread I was on. My bad.
  19. I've got one better....
  20. It's as if some think that without 70+ tournaments per month the whole industry collapses. Wouldn't even be able to sell a rain coat because nobody would ever go out in the rain. Definitely no reason or desire to go fishing if we can't haul them 15+ miles and "impress" everyone with the fact that....."OH YEAH BABY, WE CAUGHT SOME! WE BAD!"
  21. You can scrub/buff/polish a stain away and make it look pretty as long as it stays on the trailer, but in my experience the stain always comes right back after a couple of trips out. I keep the part of the boat that I spend time in neat and clean, but I don't care how discolored or stained the side that the fish see is.
  22. He wouldn't be loosing 40% of his bookings. I'm an ignorant hillbilly and even I know that. If he thinks that then HE is dumber than a sack of flour. Probably only been in the resort biz since he got out of rehab and his uncle fell ill. If his welfare depends on a few bass clubs....he ain't managing that place worth a hoot.
  23. It is a bit tricky at the current lake level. I'd make plans to go up there with ya but my schedule is such that I can't plan anything. All of my outings are spontaneous. If you might possibly be good to go on a short notice (like 3-5 hours notice) then I'll shoot you a text sometime.
  24. Too many options for the lower end fish. If you'll study the weigh-in stats you'll see that the upper end crew was darn steady with the 4's and 5's, and I'm sure they caught a good number of just solid keepers as well. My old buddy Bill Hickman had a pair of 5+'s and plenty of shorter ones. The upper Osage fish don't have the option of going deep.....they are REAL bass in a REAL BASS'es world. Unlike these perpetually lost and homeless green stripers of the lower end.
