  1. Did you explain to her that the fist pounding was just an actor acting? And that Dora, Swiper, and the Grumpy'ol Troll are actually friends that hang out together when off the set.
  2. Regardless of who you strive to go to work for there are going to be goods/bads. If you're self employed there are risks and drawbacks, and if you choose to take a government job there are goods/bads. Factory workers never know when they'll be cut loose. Being self employed I often work for months without a paycheck. You just have to adjust the way you live for awhile, it's not THAT bad. As hard as I try I can't work up a single tear for the furloughed few. Enjoy your stupid vacation, or spend it looking for a "more secure" career if the anxiety is upsetting you.
  3. That's the solution right there IMO. When masses stop showing up to "vote" it gets their attention. Only THEN do they realize that folks are not playing the game anymore. Voter turnout in my area was way down last time and the constant encouragement to PLEASE GO VOTE through local media was annoying. Yeah Yeah, "go vote". Whatever. KMA! Anywho, I just turned the weather radio on....it's running.
  4. Yep, good (real) kids. They were hard at it the last day my g/f and I were down there. Mom and Gramps on the bank and 4 polite and well behaved kids wrestling stones and having a blast.
  5. If there's no sign on the river bank then you're ok. Not everyone listens to the news.
  6. WTH does it do that makes you lightheaded? Make sure it's the phone doing it and it's not just a coincidence. KnowhatImean? How else can I put this?.....Ummm....Oh to hell with it, just say it Wrench ! Ness, Don't stroke out on us, Bro !!!
  7. Noooooo ! Some energetic kids just built a little dam out of stones off to the side of the old milldam run. I'm proud of them for leaving the X-box alone long enough to do it. No harm done at all.
  8. It's a dang shame that every tax paying "citizen" won't stay at home and not spend a single dime for a day or two EVERYTIME some $#!t like this goes down. Id' love to see the result of that. Turn off their lights, build a twig fire in the back yard and heat up leftovers or thaw out some game. Use no electricity, use no fuel.....and buy nothing. That would be frikken amazing! Hell I'm gonna do it just for fun
  9. Hey! Free puddin' They said I had to stay home TODAY though
  10. Tongue News. Arkansas exclusive?
  11. Yeah really! A ticket for what.....Trespassing? HAA!
  12. LOL Ok So who's gonna watch the "gates" ?
  13. Say What!? Why? The FS trails to the Gasconade? There are NO gates....so I guess they'll have to build some before they can close any of them.
  14. I thought that Judges became "Judges" by leaving the "assuming" to those with far less authority. Interesting lesson, Hoglaw. Thanks.
  15. I live to feel the bites. Do y'all hold your rod when your towing crankbaits, or do you stick them in a rod holder, grab a beer and scratch your balls until one starts bobbing up and down?
  16. The way I understand, and it corresponds with my experiences over the years, is that it takes a pretty substantial cold snap to initiate a genuine rollover. And that usually happens in late October right before the Chamber of Commerce annual derby. During that time the mid-lake fishing is pretty slow, but the upper-end bite can be awesome.
  17. I'll give them ONE pass, then I'm going in BEHIND them. THAT'S as courteous and ethical as a caster needs to be to a troller AFAIC.
  18. Typically the mid-lower lake area turns over right around Halloween.
  19. Every single one of those needs googly eyes. Jus'sayin.
  20. Where's the squirrely one?
  21. Great stuff, RM! I know a striper/hybrid fella (or three) that fish gurglers on a sink tip. I haven't played with that yet myself but but just last week I discovered what a crease fly can do on a 5.6ips sink-tip.....so I think I 'get it' now.
  22. There's no question that giggers PREFER a sucker fry. But once the shindig has been planned, the cooking oil and cornmeal bought and all the gear loaded there IS gonna be a fish fry regardless of whether the suckers cooperate or not. If the suckers happen to be scarce that night they aren't just gonna eat jerky and frito's and call it a nite.
  23. Well IMO it would take a heck of a lot less effort to bust a outlaw gigging party than it would be to infiltrate a small town drug cartel. Sad fact is that the payoff isn't as good.
  24. I have never put a torque wrench on a spark plug...and I have installed thousands of'em. You can feel when the sealing ring seats firmly, and that's all you need to worry about on your 2-stroke Yammie.
