  1. I have no experience around big high profile areas like NYC or LA but I have watched in awe and disgust as a "STATE" backs up highly questionable activity by one of its Counties. It can be pretty darn scary. I have noticed though (and maybe this is a misconception) that it is very rare for a County to back up the goof-ups or shady activity of a City. Those two branches of authority almost seem to be at odds with each other.
  2. Did anyone actually confirm that? I think there was alot of "allegedly's" left out of this whole fiasco.
  3. Except maybe those of us who like flyfishing for stripers.
  4. Yeah, and I think it's wrong that the outfitters clog it up during Summer weekends. How convenient for them, yet inconvenient for others.
  5. Oh great! We've gone from liquor to peyote.
  6. Looks like a fish shaped cabnet or drawer handle. You sure it's not metal?
  7. Shouldn't be any reason that you couldn't drive through the park with fish caught elsewhere, but I could see where you might have to defend yourself in court for doing so. Personally I'd avoid that possibility because it's just gonna cost you money.... More money than a box of Mrs. Pauls fish fillets at Price Chopper.
  8. Yeah it's a veritable free for all in zone 4. You mean to tell me that after all these years you haven't wondered out of the park? what's up with that?
  9. I know where mine are, but I have taken a chainsaw file to the blades on my electric one about 3 too many times
  10. If I could only have one rod it would be a 6
  11. I totally understand not wanting to bother with mailing it, but if nobody close to ya wants it I'm due for a fresh one.
  12. LMAO. I almost forgot about this Oscar winner!
  13. None right now but here in about 6 weeks I'll be able to get you all the gar specimens you need, about 1 1/2 hours from Columbia. You could even witness hundreds of gar in the act of courting and spawning. It would be really cool if you shared the nature of your studies and the findings here.
  14. In my experience the cloudiness is not only on the surface of the gel coat but throughout the layer. At least that's the case with all Champions, Chargers, Rangers, etc. that have had their fair amount of days out in the sun. I kinda think that it begins deep down next to the glitter (the source of the heat) and works its way up. You can work your butt off and hide it for a short time but the cloudiness always comes back within a week or less of normal use.
  15. How cool! So if the eggs wash into an eddy, or let's say they drift less than 10 miles and end up in the still water shallows at the upper end of a lake tributary arm (even though it is oxygenated well from wind chop or whatever) then hatching could still be possible, just substantially reduced? Or can it theoretically just not happen at all?
  16. That was friggin' GREAT! I was waiting for it, but it never happened....what a climax! Thank dog for old fashioned land cameras!
  17. I've never done one, or had a boat with a wrap....but I like the looks of them. Saw a camo wrap on a jon boat that had been "used like a jon boat" and it seemed to be holding up surprisingly well. That might be the way to go.
  18. I think those porous graphite looking parts like the foot pedal are dipped into a dye, or stained somehow and start looking gray when they dry out, yet look black again when they are wet. So I dunno. Maybe a light coat of spray paint (just a dusting, no buildup). The aluminum alloy parts can be prepped (cleaned) with alcohol or brake parts cleaner, hit with aluminum oxide primer, and then painted (not too thick on the paint). A coat of car wax when the paint is still just a little tacky will give it a nice hard finish. That's how I refinish outboard lower units, mounts and exhaust housings and they stay looking good for a long time.
  19. If its in the clear gel coat and there's metal flake under it then No. You can shine it up and make the cloudiness disappear for a few days but that's about it. Once the clear gel coat has turned cloudy it's there for the duration. The good thing about that is: once the boat starts looking like that, and its owner just accepts it.... they usually start catching more fish
  20. Oh man, those underwater release shots were AWESOME! Just can't get enough of that. Seriously, it made me wish I was there..... so how much better does it need to be?
  21. Are you talking about the plastic head cap & tray, or the lower motor housing and synthetic shaft ?
  22. I keep THIS link on my phone http://www.calendar-365.com/moon/moon-calendar.html
  23. A pond/lake full of honker gills, half drunk guys sloggin' in the mud in hip boots, and a half dozen angry beavers that don't want them there ... that's oscar winning material. All you need is someone good at editing/producing.
  24. How exactly does an "accidental stocking" happen? "Whoops, those aren't hybrids, who loaded this truck?! Oh well, too late now".
