No need for all that covert 'nam business. All you need is a good hound dog. 😉

Proposed lead fishing tackle restriction
fishinwrench replied to BilletHead's topic in Conservation Issues
Just be sure to look both ways before you pluck them off the power lines with the FX. 😁 -
It's already happening with White bass. Breaks my heart too. I may be stressing over nothing...... but there's a good chance that I'm not. And if I'm not, was it REALLY worth it?
-
Might as well be. Listening to these "experts" resembles the VP's typical giggling word salad.

Here in Missouri they contradict themselves in a manner that makes me wanna bang my head against the wall. They warn against dumping aquarium fish into state waters, and then they totally banned the movement of crawdads from one creek to the next......but then..... Well, ya know 🙄
-
They never altered or purposely mixed genetics (created new strains). Now they are doing that, and yeah soon it will be too late to stop......if it isn't too late already. Nobody, regardless of how smart they think they are TODAY, should be doing anything that is irreversible. I'm surprised and disappointed that you guys here disagree with that. Kinda worries me. 😳

Trout aren't hurting anything, but ok fine.......if that's what it takes. 🙄

Nice, dude! 👍 I had a gut feeling that I needed to be out there today. But I also had a gut feeling that I needed to make a run to get into the right kinda water. It was hot and I wasn't in the mood for a boat ride. Shoulda went anyway.

Somebody check this boys vitals, he may be on the verge of a stroke. 🤔

Tell that to Al Agnew, and river Smallmouth. Why is there such a thing as a "Meanmouth bass"? Why do we have hybrid/white bass mutts in lake O ? Bighead carp?
-
No they aren't. They are are dammed rivers. Pretty natural. Beavers do it too. Are beavers natural? In either case dams can be removed, or will remove themselves, and nature will take back over. Dams are no big deal.... American eels have turned up in minnow ponds in Richland Mo., And Stripers prowl the pools on the NFOW.

Your screen name is what? And what about that avatar??

Beavers are cool ! I don't think my wife would make the connection. Hell, she's a city girl that actually calls groundhogs "beavers". 😅 I've never set her straight because, well..... it's kinda cute. 🤗 -

My daughter can. That's her Refrigerator art. The next time she mentions being bored I will deploy your request. 👍 🙂 -
To my knowledge there is no more diverse species of fish as the Largemouth bass. They thrive in rivers, lakes, ponds, brackish oxbows, and pretty much anywhere it's wet. I believe the SMART thing to do is.... LEAVE THEIR FREAKING GENETICS ALONE ! If you just must, then go work on bald eagles or something. Or go make a deer species that'll stay out of the road. Get busy breeding the RMSF out of ticks.
-
Ok, but the problem with tinkering with genetics and throwing them into an already healthy population is that IF it goes bad..... there's no UNDOING it. If they keep at it, then someday the original Largemouth bass, complete with it's original genetics, will be no more. Biologists don't seem to grasp the long-term potential severity of that. They claim to believe in, and HIGHLY RESPECT their alleged creator.....but yet they think they should try to "improve" upon his work. Kind of a contradiction, isn't it?
-
Did you hear him? "There are things we don't know about this strain".......BUT WE'RE GONNA STOCK THEM ANYWAY. "This should be fun!" Yep, typical. Glad you boys are HAVING FUN. 🙄

Yeah it means "Poison" (this $#!t can kill you). So that's the message all these people are sending out? Personally I'm so tired of seeing it that I might start slapping them upside the head and calling their bluff 😁 Then we'll replace it with this one... Common White Bread. 🙄 Have you noticed that you never see black guys/gals displaying skulls? Just an interesting observation. 🤔 -

I'm quite a fan of the Lizard myself. There's just something about a lizard.....but you gotta believe in it. 👍 I'm not, however, a fan of SKULLS, and it blows me away that you can't go anywhere without seeing them plastered on EVERYTHING. Cars, Trucks, motorcycles, boats, guitar cases, ect. The most popular screen saver loaded on PC's and cell phones is.... you guessed it....a Skull. Plus, every dude that is into body-ink has a skull somewhere among his permanent collection of body art. It is the first thing that a tattoo artist learns to draw. Maybe YOU can tell me......What exactly is the significance, or allure of parading a dead and rotting human head on everything you own ? I just don't get it. What does this mean ? It's as if everybody knows, but me. 🤷♂️ -
Who knew you could summon Bigfoot to kill someone? Wait..... Something just occurred to me.......of all the fear that the legend of Bigfoot has spawned, has anyone ever been harmed by a Bigfoot? Scared. Maybe even chased, but never actually grabbed and gobbled up. I think it's safe to assume that Bigfoot is harmless. Even housecats are more dangerous.

There's a ramp at the bridge. Another at Purvis (5-29). One at what used to be called Mallard bay. (It's called something else now). Then Wigwam (off 135 further up near the Buffalo's).

Vented Yamaha SHO Engine Cover ???
fishinwrench replied to skeeter's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
A mud dauber nest anywhere inside your cowling will feed abrasive material into your air intake, as vibration causes it to turn back into dust and grit. Marine engines don't have air filters....since dusty roads aren't where you operate them. It's a good idea to remove your cowling occasionally......just to make sure nobody has "moved in". -
Just wondering

The 40-75 HP 2-stroke Mercs are fine units. No issues with the oil injection system on those. Their weak areas are the tilt/trim system, and the charging system (stator & voltage regulator). Keep a good fresh battery installed and you likely won't ever have any trouble......but run it around on a battery that is about to puke, and you'll be sorry. -
Recommendations For Bass Boat On LOZ's Rough Water
fishinwrench replied to SJB's topic in Lake of the Ozarks
There's always a trade-off. The boat that takes rough water the best is the worst one to fish from, and has the most awkward storage compartments. Do you wanna haulass across rough water?......Or do you want a boat that sits down nice and level, has plenty of room on the casting decks, doesn't kite around in a breeze, and has storage compartments that are easy to organize and get things in and out of ? To ME the layout of the interior of a boat, and the way it sets in the water when the motor is not running, is what makes me love or hate it.....cuz that's where I'm living at. How well the hull handles rough water is just something I have to adjust to (speed, trim.angle, ect.) -
Got one for you Wrench
fishinwrench replied to aarchdale@coresleep.com's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
If the oil injection system was terminated properly, then the only thing that can trigger the warning horn is the temperature sensor ,(overheat alarm) circuit. Remove the cowling and post some clear pics of all 4 sides of the powerhead......So I can inspect it.
