  1. Everything about that day, and the weeks following, struck me as odd. The fact that they kept playing the clip of the first and second plane hitting OVER & OVER & OVER AGAIN. After a couple of days I said to my wife at the time, "somebody is trying to sell the public something". Then there was news coverage of the firemen talking about how the towers had to be rigged to go down. The one described it as it looked to me. Boom, boom boom boom....and then collapse like a pancake. Then a second building.....then a THIRD that wasn't even hit by a plane. Then the mayor or whoever it was (wasn't Rudy) reported that he gave the instruction to "PULL IT" (building 7) in order to control it's collapse. And I was like "Oh!" So the buildings were built with an option to immediately destroy them at any given time? Interesting! That sent me on a search for the REAL STORY. But I've come to the conclusion that we'll never truly know. It's like a religion..... believe what you wanna believe, I guess. But the official story that all the political figures and news outlets are sticking to..... is BS. No doubt in my mind. So since I (and you, and everyone else) has been BS'ed and lied to..... I'm not gonna play this game. I've 100% removed myself from it, and really (sad to say) don't even feel right about flying the stars and bars, because I am not PROUD of what we put up with AND PAY FOR in this country. Go ahead and tell me to move, I'm sure that several of you are dying to say that. I'm prepared for it. 🙄 I love this land..... but I despise the political system and the people who regulate it. It's not cool. Not cool at all. Hate it. It's stupid. Why ANYONE would join the military and be willing to die for the ignorance that is going on now......sickens and saddens me. Poor, hard working, innocent, brainwashed people, "Patriots", being 100% devalued and taken advantage of. 😢 And it's not going to end, or even start to get better, until everyone wakes the hell up and recognizes it.
  2. It was quite large 😊 28" is my guess. Swung a bugger past its face and didn't really expect it to eat right away....but Bygod it DID, on the FIRST drift. Solid hookup in the corner of the jaw, and I had 4x on so I was leaning into it pretty good. Powerful fish! It ran under a bankside brushpile, and Piper ran in there like a beagle after a rabbit......but also with a net that was too small for the job. 😂 Hey, it's only proper that the fish win occasionally. That's why we love the sport so much. 👍
  3. I was down just below rebar yesterday and Killin'em on a crackleback. A guy above me came down to ask what I kept putting on my fly. (Frogs Fanny) He said he thought I had some kinda secret potion that was causing the fish to eat it. I said ",Yeah kinda". 😁
  4. It was leftover funding from the didymo study. They had to spend (waste) it somehow.
  5. It is if you're trying to make perfect looking presentation quality bugs that you're dying to show off to all your friends. Don't do that ! 😅 Slap that stuff on there, cinch it down firmly, give it a rough trim.....and take it fishing. 👍
  6. I like them. Nothing wrong with resurfacing some bigger stones. What depresses ME is seeing a stream completely graveled in, with all of the bigger stones buried under 3' of sand/silt/gravel. Anytime someone has the energy to uproot a larger stone and bring it back to the surface of the earth....I'd encourage them to do it. Those stones aren't going to be good habitat for ANYTHING after they are buried. I build rock piles in the winter when the lake is drawn down, and I am still catching fish on piles I made before my oldest daughter was born. Way better than sinking brush, that's for sure.
  7. The Amish around here aren't supposed to own things like powerboats, but they have figured out ways to skirt their rules. All they need is a non-amish friend to form a "partnership", and they can have whatever they want. I have no problems with them.....they are always friendly, and they pay CASH. 😊
  8. Those look good. 👍 For whatever reason the ZC never made the cut for me. A big hunk of Marabou instead of the matched mallard flank.....and it's game on.
  9. The poor have it.
  10. He was looking for a place to put down a power stroke too ? 😅 Gotta watch'em, their wirey ! 😁
  11. Shimmed the mainspring ( makes it a bit harder to cock, but gives it more punch). Stuffed the piston with a pair of Merc tilt/trim O-rings and added some moly-lube. Then I opened up the transfer port a bit (not sure if that helped much). Also disabled the safety so I can rapid fire (bump stock style). I need to tear it back apart and see if I can increase the load size. If I can then I'll really be able to pursue some bigger game. 😁 It needs a bigger bore.... because it stretches out a shot string like a .410 I may tinker with it more this winter. I might be able to use ice maker tubing for the bore (which will open it up a good bit) but unless I can increase the load size there's no point in that.
  12. Can't speak for hornets, but wasps and mud daubers are toast with mine. It's the lawn&Garden version, and I've modified it a bit. Mine will blow holes in HD aluminum foil out to 3ft.
  13. Perception is a crazy thing. You can have 6 people on a pontoon boat, and each one will tell a different story about a boating accident.
  14. You have to modify and re-load from a sea salt grinder if you're after anything bigger than a housefly. I'm good out to 4- 5 ft.
  15. Ewwe! Ok, I'm picking up on the aquired hate now. More contagious than the Covid around here these days. So you've known about "Blister Beetles" and how to identify them forever. Gotcha.🙄 Sorry I posted in YOUR thread bro. Won't happen again. 👍
  16. I was sitting in the shop the other night and a rather large arachnid came strolling in like he owned the place. I grabbed my trusty salt shotgun and proceeded to unload on him. He went to dancing and I went into rapid fire mode. After 4-5 direct hits he finally gave up the ghost. My heart was POUNDING. I now suffer from PTSD. 😏
  17. This year it is Blister Beetles. Last year it was Buffalo Gnats. The year before it was Oak mites. Going back another year it was the Emerald Ash borer. Everything else on earth is dying or in peril, but the insects are taking over. 😦 Seems as though each one is only problematic for ONE YEAR. Nobody has mentioned buffalo gnats or oak mites this year. And now that I think of it....I haven't been invaded by horsefly's out in the shop, or around the pool this year. I actually miss Gerald. 😟
  18. Just curious. Did you know about blister beetles before the published article?
  19. Sure. Pick them off by hand and throw them in a bucket of water. How many could there possibly be? If there's so many that picking them off isn't an option..... Then scrap the plants and go buy you some 'maters. For what you are prepared to spend saving them, you could support your tomato habit for the remainder of Biden's presidency.
  20. Ya know what blows my mind? I've lived 57 years without ever hearing of a "Blister Beetle".......Then MDC writes an article about them, and suddenly EVERYBODY has Blister Beetle issues. 😂
  21. Appreciate that. Thanks 👍 Right now she needs a boyfriend with a good sense of humor and a strong back.
  22. Yeah Well, Dad of the year had to set her and a couple of her pals down and point out that everytime that they were planning to go do ANYTHING.....the #1 consideration was always what they were going to drink, and how they were going to aquire it. And how it concerned me and her mom that no fun can be had without liquor. What good is a higher education if you're dead or in jail ? They didn't have an answer. Hopefully it made them at least think about it. 🙄 Of course I had to answer to "You know you did the same thing".....and yeah I did. But there's a big difference between being out on a big lake in somebody's parents yacht, and being out in the middle of somebody's corn field on a country road. And we didn't ALWAYS drink, we did plenty of things 100% sober.
  23. The middle kid was loading her car yesterday to go set up her apartment in SPFLD. I was tending to some things in the shop. I noticed that after each trip from house to car she'd stop in front of the shop and just stand there, hands on hips, like she was about to say something....but never did. When she got all loaded and was ready to leave she gave me a hug and sarcastically thanked me for helping her load her car. 😂 Why the hell she thought it was MY JOB to be her pack mule, I have no idea. 🙄
