  1. If carp are so cool then why are you calling them "golden bones" to try and boost their status ? If I was a bonefish I'd be insulted beyond repair. "Bugle mouth bass" never stuck, so what makes you mud-suck lovers think that "Golden Bones" is catchy? Lameness! They're freakin' carp. Coons and buzzards don't even want them.
  2. When you ship UPS you pay UPS for insurance. If the shipment vanishes into thin air UPS is responsible, not the federal government. The feds are the ones who are supposed to lean on them and make them be responsible. If info regarding the missing shipment needs to be paid for in order to recover it then YOU (with all your patriotic complacency) can pay for it with a smile on your face...But me, I'll be here frowning and expecting UPS to do what they took money for. When they ask "liquid, perishable, explosive?" and you say "yes" then you pay MORE. Why is that, oh man who understands the game better than I ? As if the federal government has never misplaced guns before.
  3. That was obviously before goose fajitas had been invented.
  4. The federal government is offering a 25k reward for info. Not UPS? Really? How many guns are "mysteriously" gone ? Why are WE paying for info when these shipments are undoubtedly insured. I hate these games.
  5. During a very lean period my eventual first wife and I ate gray squirrel, eggs, and potatoes almost exclusively for 3 months (couldn't kill a deer because we didn't have a fridge or freezer). And the only thing we had to drink besides water was warm grape Kool-aid. When we finally dug ourselves out of the financial mudhole we had buried ourselves in I swore I'd never eat another squirrel as long as I lived. But 10 years later I did, and it was good. My favorite way to prepare them is to bake them with butter, salt& pepper, pick the meat off the bones and mix into scrambled eggs, and put it on a bisquick bisquit. Fried taters on the side. So..... What's the poorest you've ever been and what did you eat to stay alive?
  6. There were these two twins named Joe and John. Joe was the owner of a dilapidated old fishing boat. It just so happened that John’s wife died the very same day that Joe’s old boat sank. A kindly old woman saw Joe one day, and mistaking him for John said, “I’m sorry to hear about your loss, you must feel terrible.” Joe, thinking she was talking about his boat, said, “Hell no, in fact I’m sorta glad to be rid of her. She was a rotten old thing from the beginning. Her bottom was all shriveled up, and she smelled like old dead fish. She was always losing her water. She had a bad crack in the back, and a pretty big hole in the front. Every time I used her that hole got bigger, and then she leaked like crazy. I guess what finally finished her off was when I rented her out to those four guys who were looking for a good time. I warned them she wasn’t very good, but they wanted to use her anyway. The darn fools tried to get in her all at once, and then she split right up the middle….”The old woman said 3 hail Mary's and fainted!
  7. 90% of fire extinguishers in boats don't work. I always figured it was because they had sit outside all Winter, but I kept one inside in the kitchen for a little over 2 years and after my wife informed me that she had never used one and was actually "scared of it" I took it and her outside to just let her shoot one off so she was familiar with it and not scared anymore. Guess what? It went "paaaah" and spit out a teaspoon of stuff. Worthless. I keep a big industrial badass out in the shop. I wanna test it......but it costs 35.00 to have it charged so if I ever need it I'll just hope for the best, say 3 hail Mary's and squeeze. If it doesn't work I'll go grab marshmallows and call my insurance agent.
  8. Yeah that ramp sucks. When fishing that area I use Red Oak off lake rd. 5-65 or Purvis off lake rd. 5-29
  9. Lookie what I found. Don't even need to mess with the braided tubing....just cut the leash and tie it on.
  10. By God I will ! If you feel good enough to cut/paste/post all the crap you do then you ain't getting any sympathy from me. This! ^ I'm not really the jerk that y'all think I am. I'm here mostly for entertainment, but if you wanna judge me and get all bent about posts made mostly for their shock value....go right ahead. I try to be helpful when I can to make it up to y'all for my twisted sense of humor and off color posts... but for some folks that's just not enough. Nobody loves everybody. No biggie.
  11. I don't feel like "disparaging" is accurate. They are worth alot, I just don't know that they are worth the amount they take. Why is it not acceptable to be disappointed and critical when everything I care the most about gets half-assed, while stuff that myself and very few others care anything about gets the mass of the funding and attention thrown at it ? I'd feel the same way about a wife that went shopping with my checkbook and only got a weeks worth of food that nobody wanted to eat, and spent the rest of the months grocery allotment on a pair of shoes that she'll only wear once for 2 hours.
  12. Why don't you do a weekly magazine or write a book? I mean what's stopping you....besides plagierism?
  13. I'm listening. I haven't discounted what he knows yet. He discounted what I know though, and did it right away....so I'll just shut up and listen.
  14. Naw that's really no biggie. I mean it COULD BE, but truth be known I've done quite a bit of stuff for them without compensation...and I'd do it again. Not "for them".... it's more like "for us".
  15. I've worked on their boats plenty. The last time they called me it was to an abandoned cabin cruiser at Beauty View that the 80 gal. fuel tank had ruptured and the auto bilge was emptying it into the lake. I could have blown myself up..... Sent them a modest bill and never got paid. I only get cranky when they ignore important (to me/to us) things while spending STUPID money on things that are just plain ignorant. Fine, do things for Spoonbill and walleye, but just do equally for other native critters. Just to be clear, I'm not against walleye stocking, I'm just against the DEGREE that they do it HERE because I see it as a total wasted effort and a huge waste of money. As thorough as you are I'm calling your bluff on the limit of "big walleye from LO". Pics or you're full of it. 😎
  16. Fishing for walleye at LO is a waste of time even though they've poured millions into making it worthwhile. It's way past time to give it up and put that money and effort elsewhere. The Spoonbill program......I ain't even going there. If you don't see the insanity in that then you're ate up. If anyone in Mo. has an genuine interest in elk then they go West to satisfy that itch. Nobody here gives two hoots about those collared, pen raised cows and 5x5's they are raising here. You can read the magazine online. It is Sophomore level writing at best. Not even worth the effort to print. My daughter has a Jeep Liberty. With good tires they'll go anywhere that a 3/4 ton Chevy will go.....And if you get it stuck two guys can darn near pick it up and get it some traction. Put a winch on it if you suck at off-road driving...still way less expensive to buy and to operate than a fully loaded Silverado, and considerably friendlier to the environment.. if you care about things like that. Hopefully we aren't paying for EMT training for Conservation agents. If we are then that could be cut too. There's another 8 Mill.
  17. Went full bore after the Whites this evening, all I could catch was these. Had 4 that were 15+" and 6-8 short fat ones, twitching this Airhead around shady spots and rootwads. If I was gear fishing I'd have to throw a Fluke, or swim a jig.
  18. For now I've got nothing else to crow about. I'm waiting for Susalaki to get around to posting more info about those studies. Gotta make sure that's not all just "conjecture".
  19. If you're over 25 and haven't figured out how to lay down and sleep yet, I'm afraid there's little that anyone (besides Jim Beam) can do to help ya.
  20. Absolutely not. You don't wanna open that door, dude. Because where do we draw the line? If we let this crap slide, keep hiring these people, and encourage our kids to "expess themselves" like that.... then in a few years you're gonna have a nation full of boys with their weiners on their chin, and girls with boobs on their forehead saying "look me in the eyes when you talk to me".
  21. Don't have any of those either so might as well get the good stuff.
  22. Oh man. You win after that one. I've got nothin else.
  23. Alright, now you listen here you old curmudgeon. That trout program is a pretty good thing, it financially sustains itself, and the waters they are stocked in are pretty much worthless for anything else, so I see nothing wrong with that at all. I'm so glad that you brought up the Spoonbill program and how they feel compelled to keep them around, because it gives me a perfect opportunity to point out that they ALSO ruined MORE MILES of smallmouth water than they did Spoonbill water when they started building dams....and they don't do jack ---- about that. Why not? Can't even get a regulation or some extra enforcement to keep them from getting gigged.....but get caught piddling with a jar full of Paddlefish eggs and you'll lose everything you own and do some hard time. Re-freakin-diculous. It wouldn't break my heart to see the dams go bye-bye, I'm starting to have thoughts of early retirement anyway. I'd be happy as a clam running a river resort.....or better yet, just being a porch ornament/greeter while my kids run it The White bass (if we can still accurately call them that) are still plentiful where I fish. These thick jawed mutts with oversized tails are a blast to catch, so I guess it's fine as long as they don't go Pomme de Terre on us and just suddenly die off and become extinct for some unknown reason. But if they do I know darn well who I'll blame for it, and you'll never convince me otherwise. Now whatcha got?
  24. Oh....Booooyyyyy! I'm fixin' to rip you a new one, as soon as I'm done helping my sweety make this here potato soup.....and before the final WS 2017 game starts. Go Astros !
  25. Yeah I'm fixin' to buy up a supply of my favs for sure.
