  1. They read it, but they'll never admit it. Not sure why that is. Same reason alot of big-time pro types pretend to not even know this place exists. They read it every stinkin' day, you know they do, but when you mention it they act like they've never even heard of it. Stupid (too cool for school) head games!
  2. There are two ways out of your predicament. 1. Identify the switch manufacturer and request a circuit diagram. 2. Obtain a ohm meter and figure them out yourself. Typically you are going to have one post dedicated to Battery power, Another dedicated to the switch light (assuming it has one), a jumper from switch light to Nav. Light position. A seperate post for Anchor light. And 2 posts for Nav. Lights. When the switch is down it powers up the post(s) on the opposite side.
  3. Sounds fine. I haven't got a clue as to why it is running crooked if the motor is straight and the load is balanced. Doesn't make sense. The outer chines on that Revolution hull are definitely going to try and make the boat run in circles if it goes through the water with a list, so steering torque is a given. Weird.
  4. Yeah I start back where the trolling motor hits bottom, then work my way out to 7-8'. My number is 573-569-5406 Be glad to help with the boat, but just for the record I don't do service calls.
  5. If it is real shallow I keep the rod up high and fish it just fast enough to keep it crashing into stuff along the bottom. The one I throw is Chrome and I will wear the chrome off one pretty quick. Otherwise just kinda mix up the retrieve. I never just reel it in steady. The Redeye has a certain vibration when it is doing its maximum thing, so I just play it along at about that speed, throwing in lots of pauses.
  6. It has been over a month since I've caught a 4+ pounder......So I'm not sure if I want to fish it or hang around the shop and make money THAT way. I made over 4k last year during the bash weekend.
  7. Which check-in spot are you gonna fish near ?
  8. No, you won't run into anything the least bit sketchy until you get above Buffalo cr.
  9. Getting all riled up and driving across the state numerous times to "fight" for what I consider good/better regulations just seems pointless. For as many employees and as much money as MDC has they sure seem to have a problem actually DOING ANYTHING other than talk about stuff. Having all these "meetings" is just another way to keep more people on the clock longer. This is 2015 for Christ sake, why should we have to transport our bodies in order to have our words heard ? Why?
  10. I had a MG wireless on a previous boat and I do alot of dock fishing. There is a learning curve but it didn't take long. The "noise" of the rotor motor is a tad annoying, but never seemed to bother the fish one bit. I certainly enjoyed being able to control the TM from anywhere, but I'm an old-school fart and still prefer cable steer where I can operate by feel and not by having to watch things rotate all the time. With electronic steering you don't know where your going unless you keep one eye on the TM head at all times. That kinda sucks.
  11. Those of us displeased with the transformation of BS are a minority, judging by the tag sales. Apparently more folks love it than hate it. Majority rules.
  12. So all the weight load is on the Starboard, yet it still lists port ? That's crazy. Either the rigging is wrong or there is a problem with the hull. Is the motor centered and straight? Cavitation plate no more than 2" below the hull ? No dents in the bottom of the hull ? Hull ribs straight ? What is your WOT RPM ?
  13. Yeah I should have had the kid throw a buzzbait. I thought about it. That probably would have broke her slump, gained us another keeper or two.... and got her really excited.
  14. Well for starters your 185 is underpowered with a 75, especially if it's a 4-stroke. A 115 would be better. The port list at wide open throttle is either caused from weight distribution (battery's?) or from sloppy rigging (motor not centered and/or squared, or engine height is too deep). The pulling (steering torque) to the left can be equalized somewhat by adjusting the trim tab on the lower unit. But first make sure the rigging is proper.
  15. I had to go to Florida to bust a double digit bass. Lots of 7's and one 8 from Mo. Alot of guys talk about catching 10's around here, but I think most wouldn't know a 10+ from a 6-7. A 10 pounder has a mouth as big as your hat, and eyes as big as yours.
  16. Years ago Charlie Reading turned me on to "Osprey ferrule lube" (also marketed under the name U-40) and it is by far the best ferrule wax you can get. Smear a tiny bit on your male ferrule ends and you'll never have loosening or difficulty getting them apart. Excellent stuff. The cake of hard perrafin supplied by St.Croix and others is junk in comparison. I only apply it once/twice per year and it stays put just fine.
  17. Took my daughter and headed for Soap just to be sure I could back up my words. In 2 1/2 hours I ended up with 16 fish, 4 of which were over 15". Little Miss Cantfishforshit just couldn't get the hang of the Redeye, she changed up to a square bill and a Spinnerbait, and pitched a jig behind me....but she blanked.
  18. But a year later he is found next to the river less than a mile from his campsite. Seems odd nobody including the dogs could find him. Thick/rough country I guess.
  19. Prater family has a slab of concrete on river left, but I think you have to marry one of the daughters to gain access. It's 2.5 miles of frog-water further to the Lake Niangua ramp on the same side. Cherry hill camp is on the other side. Nobody around and gates are locked.
  20. I have a 2pc. 6'6" for Smallies and white bass. I like the option of breaking it down for canoe travel, or just for carrying behind the seat of my truck. If it is a quality rod it will fish as good as a 1pc.
  21. It seems they won't burn up much energy looking for ya. http://www.417news.com/2015/09/22/richland-fishermans-remains-found-in-alaska-creek-1-year-after-he-went-missing/ What a bummer.
  22. I sat my phone and cigs on the bumper while hooking up the boat a couple weeks ago. Got to the boat ramp and all I lost was my lighter. Phone and pack of smokes held on for dear life and made the ride. Go Otter box!
  23. Give me two hours with a Redeye on these red areas in Soap and I guarantee I can catch 10-20 bass.....but only 2-3 will be 15+ if I'm lucky.Jump over to the North side and drop a jig around those last 5-6 docks with mud poles and there will be at least one more keeper. After that I'd be headed to the back of another creek arm.
  24. You don't have to be all that good of a fisherman to rule the tournament scene here, all you have to truly be good at is stacking rocks and making brush disappear.
