As a side note, I saw that Baitmasters in Aldrich carries Binks Spoons. I picked up a couple in the 1/4 ounce, havent tried them yet. They have really made that a nice place to stop.
Headed up Wednesday to look for crappie has anyone been crazy enough to go out in this cold? Look forward to my first winter crappie trip. Have heard lots of good things about this time of year. Any tips on depth and structure to target ? Will post a report
About when do crappie start heading for their deep water winter haunts? noticed that usually, around this time of year they are in shallower brush. I was wanting to get out the week of thanksgiving and have no idea what the pattern might look like. Thinking about putting the boat up for winter and doing some shalllw kayak fishing up river. Thanks for any insight!
Went early morning with the intent on fishing brush piles for crappie. Launched at Cedar ridge campground ran up near high point. Couldn’t zero in on them. Caught 1 keeper and a short. Decided to try to for some walleye. Ran up past state park and caught 2 shorts on Secondary points with jig and crawler. Very light bite.
Hey there. I was looking at the MDC brush pile gps coordinates and comparing them to the Navionics app on I phone and found they were slightly different. I have a Garmin sonar with gps but no mapping cards. I know how to mark waypoints but haven’t mastered entering them by coordinates. The question is are the mdc coordinates dead on? I guess just going to the general area and watching sonar?
