  1. I was going to go this morning up just got done working 8 nights in a row. My sleep schedule is all out of whack woke up at 1 AM and been up since. Going to give it another shot tomorrow. What kind of water temp were you guys seeing? Any mud? I went of Lake Springfield a little bit ago and it is chocolate milk
  2. Thats the truth, i literally had a friends mom text me this morning asking if i knew these guys. geez
  3. I see some dock that have signs that say they are zoned commercial no fishing, swimming, etc. And there is no gas dock anywhere near. For example the ones on the south side of KC bridge. They are big private dock. I fish them all the time and no one has ever said anything, and i see boat owners fishing off those same docks
  4. How much lighter is the Tohatsu? Might be cheaper to just buy lithium batteries and keep the bigger motor, I put lithium's in my rig and lost speed. When you have a 100lb troller on the front and take out 70lbs in the back it screwed mine all up lol. Like wrench said though a foil might do the trick, i used to have a 175 tracker and all those guys were using them and said they worked great. I dont have any 1st hand experience with them though
  5. Wow, its a new age fish that wants to be what it wants.. Great catch either way
  6. Today around flat and Bridgeport was probably the busiest i have ever seen it, and it was all fishing boats. Had a guy in a new Nitro pass me on my starboard side less than 40ft from me, and on the other side of him was a pontoon he had to be less than 50 ft from, just threaded the needle. Fishing a brush pile today and im a ways off of it casting at it and a guy pulls up outboard running and drives almost over the top of it , he asked how the fishing was and told me i was on the best brush pile in the lake. I just told him he can have it now.
  7. All these kayak dudes get off talking about they can go where bass boats cant, yet they are in the middle of Table Rock all the time, If you Kayak needs a trailer and has graphs and all the stuff a big boy boat has just buy a big boy boat. Kayaks cost about the same as a nice used bass boat these days
  8. Im no gods gift to driving a boat but common since is just gone. My brother went to captains school in Florida and then he had big sailboat at Kimberling for 8 years and he taught me a thing or two about right-of-way. The number of people up the James where the channel is small just refuse to pass on the right side, It just blows my mind.
  9. Its crazy out today, All these out of town guys practicing. I was nosed up to a long run out gravel point and some guy in a new Phoenix, goes between me and the point, i could have casted over his boat easy. He could have went in back of me easy as there was 500 yards of water. I threw my hand up and he put a hand up and shrugged his shoulders. His 10K worth of graphs if he knew how to use them would have let him know he was in 3 feet of water. Then on the way home a guy pulling another Phoenix pop around a corner on my side of the road, i put my truck and bat half way in a ditch before he looked up and saw me. Our boats were about a foot from hitting. People just suck these days.
  10. I went to the outlet the other day and picked up 2 Lews that are brand new for $60 each and an Abu that also looked new for $30. I throw Lefty so its always hit or miss there for me, but they have tons of right and reels. Be careful buying rods there because a lot of them have the tip broken off and repaired.
  11. I was up flat which is very clear but the beds i saw were around Bridgeport. I drove all the way to McCords Bend and it is extremely clear up there. Today i put in at Mill creek and the green slime make it so hard to fish. I went from Mill to Hideaway today and around Hideaway there are logs everywhere out in the channel. Beds are everywhere around Mill creek Water was 62
  12. I was down there Monday and Tuesday. I had a couple 8 year olds with me so we mainly bobber fished for crappie and caught plenty. I did pick up a crank and caught 5-6 in no time at all. Also went back in a pocket and saw a couple beds and even caught a couple on a wacky worm. I assume they were the bed fish but they were kinda hard to see, water was a little dingy where i was.
  13. It is a little ironic, the first bed fish event they have he is back at the top. I hope Watson pulls it off, its been a while since he had a win
  14. Flat creek was clear last Thursday. Its a zoo around there with everyone out dragging bare hooks
  15. Honestly i just catch way more fish using them than a wart, not really sure if the action is much different but Table Rock has been beat up with warts for decades. The color selection is excellent and they come out of the package with decent hooks, that are at least good for a while. The hooks that come on a wart need to be changed before they hit the water.
  16. Try the some of these for shallow cranking, ive pretty much put my warts in storage the last few years after i started using these. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/search-tackle.html?start=0&count=30&searchtext=g5
  17. Its clean in flat creek from the bridge up the creek, stained at Bridgeport with plenty of floaters but not bad
  18. I fished from Bridgeport way up Flat. James is much muddier. Flat has a nice brown color and clearing fast, I saw 57 degree water. Had one bite is all in 4 hours and said the heck with it and left
  19. He is selling his boat, hes an ole' "has been" lol just kidding he know more about Table rock than most of us put together. May is good, Cheese might not have his jerkbait in his hand by then and gives us normal guys a chance
  20. I can probably make that one, I was planning on today but i am bringing my little boy and i dont think he would have liked it much out there today
  21. People on the Stockton facebook page are posting stringers of them everyday all the way up to Talyor bridge, looks like a lot of smaller males though, Also seeing plenty of walleye pics
  22. This is the best explanation i have read from a large Merc dealer cyl bore on a 200/225 Opti is 3.6265 in. (std.) The piston has approx. dia. of 3.6210... So you have approx. .0055 piston to cylinder wall clearance... Now when a motor heats up it expands...So when it's up to normal operating temp. the piston and cylinder wall are both a larger diameter. When you run a cold motor hard or up to WOT real quick what happens is the piston gets hot much faster than a cylinder wall that has cold water against the outside of it....The hot piston expands but the cylinder wall hasn't yet.
  23. I see it every time i go to the lake, people dump their boat in and fire it up and take out on plane instantly. Most people dont even think about it, just like in there cars. Hell i went to buy a boat once with a Yamaha 200. The guy put it on muffs when i got there and as soon as he fired it up he threw it in neutral and revved it to red a few times. I passed on that one
  24. Ive read that same thing all the years i had an Opti. Most failures are from cold seizure. The metal heats up at different temps and causes the issues. There is mountains of info from Merc Techs online about it. My opti had 870 hours when i got it and i put over 250 on it. I always let mine warm up too. Mine was also a 75hp which didnt have near the issues as the 150+engines That being said i was always scared mine was going to pop from all the stories you here, coils, air compressors, oil pumps, and the list goes on.
  25. A few weeks ago i got minnows in Forsyth at the tackle store and they had shiners
