  1. Nothing at all wrong with that toad, I wish i had ponds i could take my boy in to catch something that would really give him a fight...We have a neighborhood pond but he has caught enough bluegill to last him a lifetime
  2. I wanted new Batteries, asked the guy at the trailer about the deals they were suppose to have, and he just wanted to sell me new ones. Which is fine and all but they advertised a bunch of scratch and dents
  3. Facebook, i know a lot of people hate it but it is def. a good way to see stuff like this pop up. I think they did it last year too
  4. Yeah it is, i got it rigged up on a rod that is 8" longer than i was using and went down to 15lb mono. And not to mention the bait is almost 1.5 ounces. I was 50ft shy of where i needed my sexy dawg which is only 5/8 oz, on 20lb and a 6'5" rod. I think the new set up will get it there
  5. 8-5. And it was packed at 8 this morning
  6. I went to Baitwrx in Springifeld and picked me up the 150, It should cast a mile
  7. There is the big Tackle swap meet at Extreme Outdoors in Branson West. Im going to check it out instead of getting beat up on the lake on a holiday weekend. HWY 65 southbound in Ozark is bumper to bumper this evening with people heading down
  8. I may give that a shot, play the thing out with that extra line I will have. Once this thing finally gave in, it was easy to reel up. And to be honest im just using normal bass gear so i have my drag locked all the way down with 20lb, because why not with the the black bass we have around here. I actually just hit the thumb bar to let line out when it was running, then once it got a little tired i let turned my drag down a bit
  9. I may look into one of those, I feel like i can cast the sexy dawg pretty far. I could also go down in line size a bit, i always just use 20lb mono, felt like i needed every bit of it today Also thinking maybe a 1 oz underspin with a swimbait
  10. For some reason i always do well in Sept for walleye so i decided to go give it a shot. Started the morning at 7:30 right by the ramp throwing topwater, the bass were just going nuts. For a solid hour i caught them pretty consistent on top with a walking bait, only 2 keepers out of a 15. Went over to a dock and dropped my spoon and caught a 17 3/4 walleye. Decided to go troll the bluff and caught 4 more walleye 3 were 17" and some change and one was just over 18. Trolled a new bait i found from Spro called the MadEye Diver 85. I trolled it next to my favorite color Flicker Shad and it was the only thing that i could get bit on. Decided to run up to the dam and the stripers were busting surface like crazy right up against the dam. I couldnt quite cast that far but i got close enough to call one out with the black one knocker sexy dawg. This thing flat wore me out, spooled my 20lb test and drug the boat past the line your not suppose to go past, I had the sirens going off at me a few times before it finally gave up and i got it to the boat. The blue bump board in the pic is 23". Now i need to figure out what bait i can cast to them, it is a long ways to the dam from the imaginary line. Water temp 82 at the ramp 67 at the dam
  11. My dad had a 48SPL it always ran great for us, it did not have trim. I remember how it had a ton of mid range power you could punch that thing on that 16' Lowe and it just seemed to take off
  12. We fished yesterday around Aunts to KC. Topwater bright and early was pretty good on a really shallow point, we were throwing walking baits up in 8" of water, the boat was only in 3-4'. They were hitting my buddies lighter color sexy dog really well. I was throwing a black one knocker and never got a sniff. His had a more suttle rattle. Other than that we just fished flutter spoons and its funny you said you caught one chasing it, because almost everyone we caught was on the retrieve in, they were really biting weird yesterday. The fish were just loaded under docks but not biting very well. Most docks seemed like the fish were only 5-10 deep over really deep water, and right in the middle of the dock so it was tough to get a bait to them. The bite wasnt that good around KC so we went all the way to Cape Fair and had much better luck. And bait fish were everywhere which we didnt see mid lake.
  13. has anyone used uhaul to install a hitch? I have a new rig and i dont want to mess with it. It involves removing the bumper and cutting a notch in it and i dont really want to do it.

  16. Well ,i only have had 1 day home in the last 3 weeks so i asked him what he wanted to go do and he chose the lake to swim. It was never meant to be a fishing trip.
  17. i went to Cape last Monday with my little boy, he didnt really let me fish much we swam most of the time. I did hit 3 docks and the fish were absolutely loaded under them, bait, bass, and crappie. I an a deep crank right down the front of one dock kinda crawling it over the cables and caught 4-5. Hit two other docks and caught a few more. Didnt really try anything else, it was mid day and almost to hot to not be in the water
  18. Ive been diving in Bull Shoals before in a brush pile spear fishing and have gotten so wrapped up in braid, We always keep shears on us, i literally had to cut my way out
  19. I heard on a podcast they thought either Duckett or Klein. Cant remember which podcast, i listen to a lot of them while driving. I remember they were saying Duckett had to much stuff on his plate to focus on the actual fishing.
