A good comfortable sitbacker is to me the #1 requirement.
I use a piece of chain covered with a length of bicycle innertube for kayak anchor.
Trolley and simple rope lock are very helpful. I just run the anchor rope through some eyes I added to the boat.
Don't forget to leash your paddle to the boat.
Good luck and have fun.
I feel sorry for anybody that can't pop a squat in a little hole they dig with a collapsible e-tool. If that's you and you're with me, you're on your own.
True. My experience with the Big Cedar / TOR / Dogwood Canyon crew was nothing but good, ever. Worked with them for over 20 years.
I will never forget the little old lady that had a house on the way into Top of the Rock. Finally sold it to him when they agreed she could live there as long as she wanted. He had his people check on her every day and deliver a newspaper. Roofed the house that they knew they were going to tear down when she finally met her reward. Who knows what else they did for her. That said a lot to me.
I'm sure a lot of the C roads were sunken lanes where the hedge started car top high or higher. They sure were in SW England.
Great places to visit, not so hot for making a living. Loved the people and the hunting. And the food and drink. Made it clear to me where the revolutionary spirit came from!
I've suffered for as much as two minutes waiting to pass bike riders on the back roads around here. I'm telling you, I've about had it with those little old ladies.
I've heard that reflexes, coordination and muscle strength aren't the same as they were when we age. Our minds seem resistant to that for some reason.😎 But. I'm like Donald Trump, I really don't know anything about that. Just something I heard. Somewhere on the internet machine.
One dog is manageable (usually). Three are a real problem - they get that pack mentality going. I had to use frame pump once in that situation. Gives a dog a real headache.
