I make a super easy but still really good pot pie. Large can of homestyle Veg All (larger chunks than original) drained. Can of mushroom soup - today was golden mushroom only because that was all that was left on the shelf - but it is good! 1.5 cup of chopped leftover smoked turkey 1/2 cup smoked gouda cheese chopped 1/2 cup milk. Mix all that and transfer to appropriately sized baking dish - maybe 9" round Cover with a pre made pie crust, perforated a bit. Crimp the edges. 375 for an hour. 425 for another 20 to brown the crust.

Christmas Day report on the Lower
Terrierman replied to snagged in outlet 3's topic in Meramec River
Kind of like fishing in the Dead Sea. -
If I was, I forgot.

When you get to be my age, you'll start driving around to look at lights again. Trust me, I was surprised too, but it's so. My youngest is 44.

For the family Christmas get together tomorrow. Somehow I always get tasked with bringing the meat.🙂

National wildlife federation photo contest

That really is a memorable image. -
I do like fishing under the lights from my pontoon boat. Big numbers usually and normally good variety.

You must be some kind of vampire or something with this night time fascination.🙃

When I was growing up we had to sleep in a puddle and we were glad to have it.

So there was this Japanese old guy at the optometrist's office. Doc tells him has cataracts. Japanese guy says "No, I drive Rincon".

My son in law actually gave a vacuum cleaner as a Christmas present. It was not well received.

It's OK. Channeling that commercial with the Doctor that just got reinstated.

Sorry Phil, I cannot make it. More's the pity. Taney in January and February is when I like it best.

minimum size boat for Taneycomo
Terrierman replied to Flyfisher for men's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
One of them was me. Rumor has it that my Yamaha has maybe non-original jets. Totally a rumor, not confirmed or denied. Excellent point about where you are on Taneycomo. I would not want to be in that rig above Fall Creek, anywhere near or below the landing, would be fine. No standing up though. -
We hit creeks Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Started at the mouth and fished our way up. Had something like 60 out of this little creek Thursday in about 2 hours. Went as far up them as we could get. Fish were everywhere. Lane caught this 22" bow right under that rock Tyler is standing on. Friday we went back to Jenkins creek first thing and caught them again. After we wore that spot out, we went to Ham's secret spot. Did right well there too. Tyler had a really big rainbow on but lost it on a jump. Had somewhere around 100 on Friday. Saturday, Rob, Lane and I started in Ham's secret spot. The river was down about 2' and the fish had pretty well left that spot. Went further downriver to the next little creek and went as far up it as we could go. It was a deep hole and was full of fish. Rob, Lane and I took maybe 40 or so out of that creek. Once they got tired of us there, we ran all the way back up to Jenkins creek again. Fish cooperated again there. I caught a beautiful 20" fish and we all had several each. Heard Norfork was fishing good, so we picked up and headed there. The reports were true, we were on them pretty good again. Rob was tearing them up on a peach colored 3/16 jig. Called it a day about 4:00 and headed in for the night. As everyone has said, it was a great jigfest. The high water made it challenging for sure, so I just took the easy way out and hid from it. And was lucky enough to find fish in my hiding spots. Truly great to see everyone, eat like kings and drink like pirates. There was a lot of memorable food, from pulled pork, through cheesecake, some of the best ceviche I've ever had, a great fish fry, Griz's famous cowboy caviar and his stuffed mushrooms. Glad everyone liked the venison for breakfast and also the chili dogs were pretty welcome too. Lovey's upside down cake disappeared too. And for me, the best part was spending a great weekend with the grandsons and all my friends. You're a special group, and I do not exaggerate one bit when I say I love you all like brothers.

There's a rumor stuffed mushrooms and cowboy caviar will make a guest appearance Thursday during appetizer time. A well sourced rumor too.

6 or 630 is my normal eating time. Later only means more cocktail hour. So whenever.

Warm days are a good way to get a puddle of cheese in the bottom of the smoker. We will not starve.

Wow, you have to be kidding

If you go to hell for killing raccoons I'm in big trouble. I've had weekends in Iowa hunting barns and old houses with terriers where we killed 200 of them. They may not be the single most destructive animal on the planet, but they are top five. You should see what they can do to a barn or an abandoned house they find their way into. -
Sriricha is my favorite hot sauce.🙂

It's four pounds of bison ground with one pound of bacon. And a pound of breakfast sausage. Seasoned with 1/3 cup chili powder. The chili proper has a load of other spices and stuff in it. It's fully assembled now and melding on the egg.

I'm bringing venison polish with cheese and Nathan's all beef hotdogs so we can make chili dogs. Don't have any buns or fritos or shredded cheese or sour cream or onion to dice or any hot sauce. I do have a jar of pickled jalapenos.

My wife was totally freaked out on the first jigfest. I told her I was going to go to Arkansas for a couple of days fishing and stay in a house down by the river with a bunch of guys I met on the internet. She had visions of me getting drugged, mugged, beaten, kidnapped and left for dead. Needless to say, now that she knows better, she's almost as enthusiastic as I am about me going and taking grandsons and good friends to meet and fellowship with some of the best people this world has to offer. And I'm just one small example of what this site promotes. Thanks Phil for all you do and support. God Bless and keep you.
