  1. It means that's what the Flippin Fireman who sold me the boat and motor said. And it is the best running 9.9 I've been around. I'll be 74 in April. It won't need much more of a lifespan to outlast me.
  2. I've got a 2006 Yamaha 9.9 on my trout boat. It's been rejetted. Ask anybody who's been out with me how it does. I also had a Yamaha Pro 50 on an 18.5 deep wide jon. It did me right too. So there's that, not to disrespect in any way a long running Evinrude.
  3. Weird here. I crossed the upper Finley about 3 hours ago and it was still gin clear and no rise. In town it was up about 18" and colored. My ditches needed attention due to leaves. That's done so ready for some more rain, the more the better. To a point.
  4. We need all the rain we can get, no matter how it comes. A wet week sounds wonderful.
  5. And if you keep hangin' in there, some bright shining day, you won't even need that. I'm pretty sure anyone can get a lifetime permit. Cost varies with age.
  6. Life of Chuck Trust me on this one. It's based on a Steven King novella of the same name. But don't worry, it is most assuredly not a horror movie. It will really make you think, at least it did me, lovey and grandson.
  7. Last time I looked, a firearm was a gun.
  8. I can't believe you said he was on her and got away with it.
  9. Jeff, Sir, bibs are a shirt.
  10. Where are the offending holes in these bibs?
  11. I've eaten plenty of bass over the years. Mostly on float trips or from farm ponds. They're OK but I'd never target them for a fish fry.

    Wind

Yeah, it's windy. But maybe 7 years ago I drove across Western Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle and about 150 miles of New Mexico dead into a headwind that varied from 50 to 70 MPH. Tumbleweeds were a real hazard in places. Stopped for fuel in Amarillo, got out and lost every map and piece of directions to the hunting lodge in less than three seconds to that wind.
  13. They're a bit much. Please fix my feed. And THANKS.
  14. Turns out that people who don't like the same things you do are really stupid and they just need you to tell them how stupid they are to start thinking right.
  15. I've had that same experience at the Beaver Creek access near Forsyth. It'll drive you nuts.
  16. That's how all the cool kids slaughter paddlefish.
  17. So is a 4" swimtail on the right weight jighead. I like a fiber hook guard on the jig. 1/4 low flow, 1/2 high flow.
  18. Kastmaster has been a classic for good reason.
  19. I don't know what lake you plan to fish, but going south to Louisiana is a solid plan. Better than any of those other directions.
  20. 54 and sunny here today. But I will tell you there's a LOT of snow left. There will be some left at the end of this week with similar conditions. Winter came. It can stay gone now.
  21. Everybody knows how I felt about Michael. Sorry I won't be able to attend. Carry on in my absence.
  22. At -20 wind chill, that ramp would be nothing but ice if it was cleared that way. You guys better get some electric gloves or a case of hot hands.
  23. I got up about 5:30 to take a leak. Checked the outside temp display and it said 13. I missed the minus sign. No wonder the house was a little cool at the time. So me being the always prepared type, I turned up the heat a few degrees and went right back to bed.
  24. My buddy told me about his former neighbor who was telling him he had three reasons he would never have to shovel snow again - a 14 year old son, a 16 year old son and they moved to Florida.
