  1. I still say anybody that uses Winkiedoodles in a sentence, much less as a handle is a heck of a man.
  2. It takes a big man to back up when he needs to. Good job rps. Don't know you from Adam but you are my kind of man. When a mistake is made, own it. We all make them, the difference is in how we handle them when we make one.
  3. Anybody who hasn't read "The Fish that Started it..." should. Its on the TAG site under the blog link.
  4. Grape Jelly Worms were a pond standby back when Heck was a pup.
  5. River is in great shape, just a little high, clarity is good. Note of caution: There are two trees that went down and are completely blocking the channel just above Green Bridge. With the two recent high water events, there are likely more in places that are not visible from bridges.
  6. Nice Dave.
  7. If this keeps up I'm going to have to get a Royals hat.

    What's Cooking?

Lovey got into it before I got the "finally it's done photo" And then I got into it and didn't take a plated picture. It was pretty darn good. Roast was super tender and the veggies were nice and done without being mush. And I did get to finish mowing the yard.

    What's Cooking?

That's a sirloin roast. Barked on a hot mesquite charcoal fire. The liquid is a pretty fair red wine and a little EVOO and some kitchen bouquet. The crystals on top are salt. There are three big cloves of garlic cut into slices and then inserted in slices in the roast. Going on the egg. While I mow. With the lid on. Roast at about 250 for maybe three hours. Then prep some vegetables. Yukon Gold potatoes, sweet onion, baby carrots and a rutabaga cubed. If you've never had rutabaga, think turnip without the bitter bite. One of my favorite root vegetables. Let it cook some more. Will post up when done.
  12. That would have been the smart move if they didn't have other plans for them. Probably needed a photo though.
  13. Buzzards gotta eat too, same as worms. Thus sayeth The Outlaw Josey Wales. In nature, there is no waste. Count on that.
  14. Way to start him out on a fairly decent beginner's rig. That's really awesome, lots more good times to come! Talk about a mini me. Dang he looks just like you.
  15. Guys like you are getting harder and harder to find. Nice job. Wrench is too girlie about those reds. Cook them good and brown like you will anyway and they are tasty and harmless. I've only probably ate ten or twenty pounds of them since I was 14 and they didn't kill me yet.
  16. Your words, not mine..... When is the next time you'll be down this way?
  17. I'm guessing 3/16oz super spot.
  18. I just found out I'm missing something else, I don't even have a favorite pro.
  19. BTW the stupidest ever clothing fad is not what I now know a buff is. It is wearing a nice warm stocking hat in the summer.
  20. I read about it a fair bit before buying a really bright LED unit that produces green light. I'm looking forward to doing it again. Went once with a friend years ago and we did pretty good.
  21. I use livestock panels for climbing beans. They work really well too.
  22. Ahh. Shoulda knowed. Don't have any. But if I did, it would be one of those things that make you look like a skeleton. Then I would be too cool for school.
  23. I've made cages out of concrete reinforcing wire. About 3' in diameter and 4' tall. That wire is heavy enough to support the vines just fine and the openings are 6"x6" so easy to see and pick whatever you are growing, be it cucumbers, squash or tomatoes.
