  1. Whilst in England, Swede was often served with roasted meats, other veggies and gravy. Every time I was there I ate like a horse and still lost weight.
  2. Who am I to tell you even one thing about deer? Nobody, that's who.šŸ˜”
  3. It's SWEDE!. Came back from England first trip over, had never had it before but loved it. And could not find it here anywhere. And then, one bright shiny day, I figured it out. Gently noticing you are wisely not planting turnips. Those bitter grainy tough dang things are good for a food plot but not much else if you ask me. Deer like them. But it's weird, they don't hardly touch them until one night and then they are all gone. Good luck with the seal, the garden, the mowing and life in general!

    What's Cooking?

Poor folks has got poor ways. We like grits around here. I use chicken base and Lawry's Season Salt in the water. I've settled on Quaker 5 minute grits - but it takes more than five minutes for them to be right, more like 15 to let them fully cook. Leftover grits go on a small plate covered with plastic wrap and in the fridge. Polenta patty!
  5. I've got five tomato plants, one hill of zucchini, one yellow crook neck and one hill of cucumbers in the ground. Tomato cages are in and tied to a t stake. That's it for in the ground. Lovey has a little herb garden and two tomato plants in the old water tank. Gotten lazy here in my dotage.
  6. And everything is close.

Did you ever have better restaurant pub seafood -of any description, than a country pub in England/Ireland? I have not. Freshest and done right.
  16. One of the guys I fired told one of the guys still working for me that he just wished I would hurry up and die. Since then, we've made up. You might want to search your soul for Limburger forgiveness too. There's always tomorrow.

    What's Cooking?

We've got a big one in the oven right now. Big enough to split and still have too much. Grilled chickie tenders and steamed cauliflower to complement the obvious main course.

  22. Public course golf when you walk is under $20 for 18 holes. I can't drive to the lake for that.

    What's Cooking?

Clotted cream in Devonshire always seemed just slightly sweet to me. Very butterfat rich and smooth. But man. Scone with clotted cream and a proper cup of tea. Righteous.
  24. Surely. The world in September will be starting to show a shakeout. I hope U.S. has the staying power to put us on top again going forward.
