  1. I started to say that but it's more. We COULD handle it. With enough money. But that ain't happening in my lifetime or yours.
  2. FYI Rim Shoals Resort offers water taxi to get wade fishermen to places they wouldn't otherwise be able to fish. Other places may as well, but for sure Rim Shoals does.
  3. The single biggest water quality problem the U.S faces is too many people that want cheap sewer service and cheap food. Fix those two mindsets and I will fix the dead zone in the Gulf and 99% of the water quality problems upstream from there coast to coast. The article misses the big picture by about a mile.
  4. It is. Don't get me started, I won't be able to shut up.
  5. Welcome to the board! If you want to learn a little something, this is a good place to do it.
  6. Just looked at the radar. Arkansas, nearly all of it is green with little yellow spots here and there. Looks like I am going to get my wish for a good spring rain. Man do we need some water!
  7. The only thing better than Ness's avatar is his signature line.
  8. Filling Station, Hwy 13 about a half block north of H. Only go there if you like honest to pete really good home cooked food and/or BBQ. Had lunch there for the first time today and will most assuredly be back. Family owned and operated. Small place. Excellent quality. If you have to have a beer with your BBQ you need to go someplace else though. I HAD to try the bread pudding. Some of the best I have ever had. Little pieces of apple in it really added. Great little place, unqualified recommendation to give it a try.
  9. WTG Britt. Good job.
  10. Not so much fixing a problem as looking for any edge you can find. I've fished Maxima for years and never felt handicapped at all. But I have to say that Ham got me to try Nanofil. I've fished the White River a few times with it and it really does let you cast further, especially with the light jigs that are the norm there. I've only fished it once or twice for smallmouth in creeks. The jury is still out there - I break off quite a bit and the leader is still a PITA for me to tie with my old eyes. Have yet to try Nano other than there. But I do think it has a place. Horses for courses I think is how it goes.
  11. It's too hot and only getting hotter. Iowa and Kansas are also suffering declines no?
  12. You bet. I had it in my hand before I bought it. For whites and hybrids if that tells you anything. But there is no spare spool. There is that.
  13. Yeah, what a bunch of worthless drivel. You got it going on. Thanks!
  14. The 30 size Trio carries 200 yards of 6lb line and 160 of 8. That's more than I will ever need. At least here in freshwater.
  15. And generation is related to demand for electricity and that's related to weather. Kind of.
  16. Your jigs look good to me. Jig fishing on Taneycomo is a little different game. Matching weight to flow and depth where you are fishing is the secret and the only way to learn is to do it. There are tons of posts and videos on this site that will give you a jump start. Remember you are fishing in the water column and not the bottom like fishing for bass with jigs.
  17. I bet that crack is no big deal to the fish. I'd be happy too, great post.
  18. The guys at Fin and Feather in Springfield also recommended the Okuma Trio. Especially for the smooth drag. I bought one and it's a nice size reel. Can't give an action report yet.
  19. Awesome. Thank you very much.
  20. That's what I call endeavoring to persevere.
  21. Cantina Laredo is also way good Mexican. In Springfield at National just South of the James River Freeway and on the Branson Landing at the fountains. Plenty of parking.
  22. Keep an eye on the for sale part of this website. There is a very nice Supreme there right now. Right here is where I found the Shawnee that I now own.
  23. Sometimes there's just no substitute for a Sancho Enchilada Style..... Next time you are in town and want a really quality burger, try Grad School downtown. Not boat friendly parking though so be warned.
