  1. It is absolutely certain for sure possible. Webster did the meter base. I wired in the receptacle. Pretty well fail safe, even for a hillbilly like me. That wing ding under the meter is a whole house surge protector. Which is a joke, but again, all I had to do was ask. None of the local power companies do those anymore. They don't work very well and the companies selling and warranteeing them are GONE.
  2. I'm going to have to be really really hungry before I ever learn what a possum or an armadillo taste like.
  3. I recommend a young skunk over any coon or possum ever hatched. And then once it's been cleaned and cooked, snagged in outlet 3 has a dinner invitation. They are kind of like a cat, but more tender. Or so I've heard.
  4. We're on Webster Electric Co-op. They put in a new meter base for me that has a manual transfer switch between line power and generator power. All I had to do was ask, don't think it cost anything over the usual electric bill. Apparently they care about their line crews. Which is an understatement. Every power company I've ever been associated with has been very, very safety conscious. For their crews and their customers. All it takes is paying a little bit of attention and some common sense.
  5. You mean I can't just plug a generator into the dryer outlet and call it good?

    What's Cooking?

And a lot of mashed potatoes and a lot of rib meat.😎

Lovey said mashed and what lovey wants, lovey gets. I expect I'll enjoy those few bites as though I'd eaten hearty.🎯
  8. Any decent whole home generator does an auto start and transfer on it's own. Usually one time per month. Run on load for about 30 minutes. Keeps fuel fresher in the engine, dries out the windings, confirms the transfer solenoids work, all that kind of silly stuff.

I thought they were a gimmick and then started thinking about how well stuff I bought that was vac sealed did in the freezer. Not the first time I've been wrong. With any luck though, it might be the last.
  10. Diesel draws water. Be sure to have a good fuel/water separator in the line before fuel pump or injectors. And drain/change that bulk tank every year. Or you will wish you had. From a person who's got a fair amount of experience with diesel fired generators, from small to run a sewer plant, to large to run Big Cedar Lodge.

Heart tartare? I've always characterized as a great steak. Pure muscle. I have an elk heart and half of a second one frozen right now. I'll give that a whirl, trust me. BTW, I bet you already have a vacuum sealer. If you don't, get one. I didn't but got one for the elk. Super useful.

Looks and sounds great. I wish the person I share my life with liked more wild game in her diet. She has yet to eat an elk burger which as I've said, is no doubt the best burger I have ever had.

    What's Cooking?

Yeah it's starting to smell pretty good. I was originally thinking mashed potatoes and peas to go with, but I've got some Kluski noodles that were really good last week in a tuna casserole. So I'm switching it up. The peas however, are staying on the menu. For Ness, cause we all know how he loves his peas.

Perfect nasty day to do short ribs. Browning to get that tasty glaze in the bottom of the Dutch. Ready for the oven. Braising liquid is about a cup of Cabernet, about a cup of vegetable stock, about 1/4 cup Lea and Perrins worcestershire, about 2 teaspoons of minced garlic, three bay leaves, some onion and some carrots. In the oven now for 3 hours at 325.
  15. Yeah, I meant Mazda...
  16. I heard Mitsubishi used to make Ford Rangers. Any truth to that?😲
  17. Road hunting for rabbits. Much easier to load. Plus no decoy problems. Back when I was a poor starving college student, popping two or three rabbits in the head when the snow was on was a big part of Sunday dinner. So, guilty, road hunter, I confess.

  19. It's wierd. When I finally became an adult with a little income, neither my mother or grandmother ever paid for a meal out again. Ever. Now that I'm a grandparent, once in a while kids buy. Grandkids - even the adults - spend money like they don't have any or ever expect to get any. The good thing is it's not a problem for us. But lovey and I do notice.
  20. Tape? What century do you live in?😎
  21. I still really like watching NFL football. Guess we all know what that makes me.😇
  22. I prefer watching High School and College baseball to MLB. Get to see people I actually know which increases my enjoyment.
  23. I'd be willing to help you out there.... I'm a potential customer. Never know when I might want to build a bridge or something.
  24. Not a hip hop fan so I cleaned the kitchen at halftime. Enjoyed the game even if it did cost me $20. Would have liked the have seen Joe Burrow become the first QB ever to win Heisman, NCAA Championship and a Super Bowl. But he's young and might have another chance to complete the trifecta. Needs a better line and is going to have to learn to get rid of the ball quicker. Gets sacked way too much and sooner or later that may get him hurt. First team ever to lead the league in sacks given up and appear in a super bowl.
