Like RPS said, work it like a crankbait, keep contact with the bottom, if it snags a bit I twitch the tip of the rod, give it a good snap, a lot of the bites I get is when the bait is moving pretty quick or after a good snap of the rod, there are times it can be amazingly difficult to detect a strike as well, I think they suck it in so fast and not strike at it. I caught one good one today but had trolling motor battery troubles, going to Golden Mo. in the morning. After 3 hours one of my batteries drops down to 11 volts while the other one reads 12.4
