I'm kinda new around here(the forum, not the area), but I'd like to get in on this and meet you guys. I've fished Capps several times but havent done much good.
  2. I don't know about that, but there's a great thread on fish finder interpretations in the general forum:
  3. Hey Old Plug, You can go to settings and turn auto correction off for the keyboard.... Worked for me, I hated that.
  4. Saw this sign a little bit ago while we were at lunch. Had to stop and snap a pic.
  5. Good point. (Although it's gonna be difficult to not get peeved when they lose some games)

Great job by the D again today. This has been a long time coming, gotta love it.
  7. So, this thread has gone waaaay out in left field( no pun intended), and came back full circle to a bit of a wildlife discussion. Impressive!
  8. Well, at least there are SOME important issues being discussed: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10/05/obama-open-to-name-change-for-washington-redskins/?intcmp=latestnews Gotta love the priorities.
  9. I've just finished all the books in the "Blanco County Mysteries" series by Ben Rehder. Had never heard of him until I was searching the Kindle store for a new book and ran across one of them. Very entertaining, humorous, and well written not to mention just 3.99 or so per book. I thought I would miss having an actual book in my hand and didn't do the Kindle thing for a long time, but I really like it, have read a lot more since getting it.
  10. At the bottom of the text box, there's a "choose file" button that will let you attach a pic, works for me on the Ipad.
  11. Just chllin'? No, we're still working. Just not getting paid until this is over.
  12. My boat is not on Craigslist yet, but it's on here. It was for sale before the shutdown happened though. Maybe you're in the market for a used Tahoe? My car's on Craigslist. And THANK YOU so much for paying my salary. I know you have options when it comes to who you want to "give" your hard earned money to, and we appreciate you choosing us. Seriously, I agree with some of you. I do however feel the need to defend this job, and the way we in this office/district do it. Hard work pays off? Huh, never thought of that. Maybe you should come down and go to work with us sometime. Bring your steel toe boots, hard hat, electrical PPE, and climbing gear. See you at 0600.
  13. No more resume updates for me, I've done enough of the changing careers thing. My coworkers and I pay taxes out of our checks as well, so the foods off our tables too. Why I tried (and FINALLY succeeded) to get this job? It's what I've always wanted to do. I think the job we(myself and the folks I work with) do is important, and I feel like I've done something worthwhile when I go home at night. And my prior military service counts for something again, mainly 7 years toward retirement someday (yeah right...). Call me selfish... To satisfy anyone's curiosity who wants to know, I work for the FAA at an airport in SW MO. I completely agree with most of you about the complete failure of our "leaders", but I don't agree with the generalizations of federal employees being overpaid, underworked sponges on the economy. Not in this agency anyway. Congrats on the puppy Ness. I'll go with 11-5, Denver being 2 of the 5. Scott
  14. Gee thanks. I got a Fed job 5 years ago, after trying for many years after getting out of the Navy (And working 19 years in the private sector). Now, I know I'm just one of those nameless, faceless, darn Federal workers, but I take a tremendous amount of pride in my job and I'm now doing it without pay. Still required to go to work, but no check until the shutdown ends. Comments like yours annoy the living crap out of me.
  15. FYI, anyone with Dish Network, NFL network is free preview right now through October 10th or so. I get to see a Thursday night game for once.
  16. I did that float a few weeks ago. I wanted to do a shorter float so I could fish some (delaware to shelvin or shelvin to hootentown) but my two buddies wanted to do the whole thing....so I got to throw a cast here and there, but not much chance to fish with trying to keep up. 4 hours and 15 minutes is what it took us, we were in kayaks and didn't really have an issue with dragging but the river may be a little lower now.
  17. 2-0, but the penalties and clock management drove me to the maalox again....
  18. Mine also. That's awesome!
  19. Hey Buzz, What fly reel is that? I'm thinking I need an upgrade to a large arbor, and I really like the looks of that one. (Another great aspect of flyfishing...you get to spend your hard earned money on more stuff you don't need, but it's just too cool looking to pass up)
  20. It's up in the fishing events forum. Ollie posted a report on it.
  21. My stepson works in Golden City and has known the girls father for a long time. There is a story going around (hearsay at this point) that her father had a relationship with the murderer's wife while he( the murderer) was in prison for his previous conviction(s) of domestic violence. This was supposedly some kind of sick twisted "payback" for that affair. I for one hope the bastard never makes it to trial.
