  1. How do you rig your tubes QB ? Looks like a round jig head in the pic. Personally..I go Texas rigged with a 4/0 and 1/4 oz bullet weight.
  2. I may be considered an outcast for this.....but I've been an Okuma user for years. Very affordable reels and never have any trouble with them.
  3. WOW and double WOW !!! Never seen the lake like that. Looks like a frozen wasteland up there. Nice job on the pics Zarra. Thanks for posting them....saved me a trip. Been wanting to see it for myself
  4. That's was a good event at Fin n Feathers. Went Saturday and bought a Lews rod and Lews baitcaster. Stood out on the driveway with it Sunday casting an old spinnerbait across the street into the neighbors yard. Been more fun if the boat was under me and water was on all sides. Come on spring already !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Yep....forgot about the maribou jigs Duck. Y'all got me thinking of night fishing now !
  6. I never meant to cause any alarm about the campground launch ramp. As I said...it was an error on my part. Only time it ever happened in 30 years of using that ramp. Strictly a miss calculation. Lol. But believe me I will always have it in the back of my mind from here on.
  7. I haven't night fished Taney for several years and I'm no fly fisherman either but when we did we would throw small rattling rogues (blk/gold or blk/orange) on spinning gear and usually did well. Had better luck up at the cable but anywhere from there to the ramp was still good. Hang on for a good fish or two. Bigger trout like these.
  8. Can't blame the Heron though. He probably didn't have a sledge hammer. Smart bird....let you guys do all the hard work. Lol
  9. No sweat. Good luck and hope you catch a bunch !
  10. Wow !!! That's insane to have to pay that to stay warm ! You have my sympathy !
  11. Yes strat....mutton no longer has that heated dock
  12. Ha ha....that's funny stuff. Be a good way to test his loyalty !!
  13. I hindsight I've figured out what may have happened. I've always launched at this ramp with someone (wife or dad ) holding a rope tied to my boat. This particular time though....my son.(his boat) is already sitting in the front to lower the trolling motor once clear of the trailer. I watched in the mirror til the boat started to float not realizing that the trailer was.going to go further down the ramp thus rolling off the end. Weird thing is...never felt or saw any indication that it had done so. Like I said....been launching here for 30 years and never had this happen...but...never had someone weighi!ng down the front end of the boat either. Lesson learned on this one ! Launch away.... you'll be fine.
  14. I'm about half tempted to spool up with this Nanofil. Worth a try.
  15. Just got back from BPS and looked at all the fishing line everybody is talking about. To those of you using Nanofil.......it is an interesting looking line but does it just stand out in the water ? I mean...looks like it wouldn't " blend in " with the water/color. Unless there are different shades....I was looking at the whiter color.
  16. Ha ha ....that's a good one. Hmmmm......think I could winch it down to the water......
  17. . Which model do you have ?
  18. You'll be waiting awhile on that warmer weather Duck. Forecast sucks for this week !
  19. This may seem trivial but I get peeved with the launch fees. Always wonder where that goes or who just pockets it. Be nice if it could go towards putting in lights around and over the tops of the ramps. That stupid single one at Aunts Creek hangs away from the ramp. What idiot hung that up ?!!?
  20. I like the Trilene XL in 10 lbs. Throws good and has low memory. It does well for me when tossing tubes and seems plenty strong enough to pull loose a hangup. Haven't tried braid...what's the best for that guys ?
  21. Sorry for late.reply Phil. I was throwing a gold Cleo at that time and the trout couldn't get enough of it. Was casting at a 45° into the current and enough retrieve to keep a tight line. No big ones but would had strung a few if it wasnt the trophy area. Stayed up at the cable til I couldn't feel my toes anymore...sometimes the "pain" is worth it when the bite is on !
  22. Sounds like a good day Ham. Nothing wrong with a multi-species fishing trip with those kind of numbers....good job ! Was coming down this weekend but weather doesn't look to good right now.
  23. Good report Phil. I was wading at the cable (dam) last Sunday....throwing a Cleo. You and a buddy were up there in your boat and I hollared at ya about the videos. Did you do any good that day ? Saw you picked up Richy.
  24. Happy Birthday Bill. Hope you have many more !
