  1. Don't eat the raw livers or gizzards and you won't have a single cell of the hormone transported into your body. The proteins from the meat are just fine. Premium actually. They best not mess with my deep fried lizards and givers. One of my favorites. Only second to liverworst and onion on rye.
  2. Which wine would pair well with braunschweiger and onion on pumpernickel?
  3. Brings back some memories.
  4. I'm having the same issue as Billethead but if I go ahead and click forums or unread content then it logs me in automatic. Weird and confusing.
  5. I've caught a few, but they're far between. Did get a decent smallie of the rip rap along route 3. I recall Bassmasters had a tourney out of Pierre Marquette back in the 80s and those guys struggled even though some were fishing the mouths of the Meramec and Salt rivers. Good Luck
  6. IMHO the high dirty water will be to your benefit.
  7. It may be a bit late but decided to try some home grown smoke. Ordered a sack of Kentucky Burley seeds from Victory Seed Co.
  8. I've had a Shimano Nasci a couple years now, it's been great but I'll never buy another spinning reel without a free spool switch.
  9. It seems it's happening with everything. The price and availability of wood, and now steel. Steel sheet has tripled in price and now they're saying inventory is so short certain sizes and grades are likely to be almost impossible. You can't quote a job with a firm price.
  10. I'm thinking the Daiwa will blow the Revo away.
  11. Florida man stays busy. Check him on Google. https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ALeKk02zRPPy23SwJ354MjYlb1LRv2XV-g:1618979663282&source=univ&tbm=isch&q=florida+man&client=firefox-b-1-d&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjRvumdwY7wAhXVQs0KHXueC_IQjJkEegQIOxAB&biw=1366&bih=665
  12. I'm just guessing but about 2 miles up from HahaTonka there's a kinda delta area with a bunch of islands and slews. When you get much above there it becomes much more riverine, although it's about another couple miles to the first riffles when the lake is full. In my 12 years hanging around that area I've only seen a conservation officer once and that was when I had Illinois tags on my boat. Anyway, 660 would be about 2-3 miles up from Tonka
  13. I do have a permit for my buoy, and the water patrol occasionally checks it. In fact they've been very helpful. Once when the buoy was washed away in high water they returned it about 2 years later. A second time I lost it I found one in a logjam and brought it home and installed it. An officer cane by, checked the numbers, told me it was previously unregistered and put my permit number on it. I wish they would spend that much time enforcing the rules of the road.
  14. Being both a dock owner and an angler I see both sides. I don't care if someone fishes my dock, or even my backyard for that matter. I do get aggravated when they decide to do circles with the kids on a tube just off the no wake buoy and a couple of times I've pulled my boat out and anchored where they're tubing and rocking my world. Anyway, what should be the proper etiquette when I hang a Megabass 110 in somebodies thousand dollar boat cover? What if it's just a 1/16 oz. crappie jig?
  15. The French Broad has always intrigued me. Really would like to check her out. Looks beautiful from the hiway.
  16. I also hope Tim is recovering well.Although we haven't met in decades I have great memory's. We went through school together, K thru high school. He once saved the day for me when my Suburban expired on a launch ramp at Table Rock. . I hope he makes a full recovery.
  17. The gauge says it's flowing 10700 at Tunnel Dam. I know it's ripping past my place by HahaTonka. Lots of trees going by yesterday afternoon but less debris now.

    What's Cooking?

Interesting, I do my grits exactly how RPS does his polenta.
  19. Don't ignore the upper sections. I'd set a home base at Greer, float above it one day and below the next. If Richards Canoe is still there they've always been good to us.
  20. Time for a new boat. I take a look at the bearings at least once a year, and before every long trip. I keep a bag of bearings and seals and the proper tools in the truck if I'm going a long ways. I once watched my buddys wheel come off and go so far into the woods it couldn't be found.
  21. A view looking across to Haha Tonka Cove. All the folks that speed thru here and pull kids on tubes would crap if they knew whats a few feet down.
  22. Don't use the right side lane as you are facing the ramp.
  23. Check this site. Apparently every radio station everywhere. http://radio.garden/visit/springfield-ma/6DzFy6dn
  24. That's 2 doors down from my house. I looked, and it's not really there.
  25. I'm thinking about making an ice pole to push my canoe across the 100 yards of ice to get into Tonka. Got cabin fever bad.
