  1. There is an updated version of CFSWater mobile application available. It now has current weather conditions with radar and forecasted weather. Just touch the sun icon located on the scheduled and current tailwater generation screen. Search for CFSWater in the app stores if interested. Here's a couple of screen shots.
  2. Thanks! that is some great history and intel. I'm going to spend some more time there. Also, I have seen lots of largemouth hangin around our docks in the spring, summer, fall. Some very nice sized ones. I've heard Taney is a pretty good largemouth fishery, I've seen folks pull some hogs out.
  3. It's done. In season they dump trout once a week usually on Tuesday... good fishing for the Herons and Humans
  4. Yes, I think Is a sheet pile wall, the thing they are building around the water treatment plant?
  5. Ditto @snagged in outlet 3 but I will add, my place is below Kanacuk and I mostly fish the Trophy section and I always check the temp while I motor up to my fishing grounds. When the water is off or low it can increase or decrease gradually, depending upon time of year, as I'm motoring up river. But I don't think there is really a distinct line even when what is off for a while, not sure it's big enough for that. I'm caty wampus from the MDC dock and Water Treatment plant, it's wide and deep, holds lots of trout and there have been some big browns caught against the bank, I just have not fished it that much. Also, if my memory serves me right some Winter trout tournaments have been won by folks who went all the way to Powersite, could be wrong just thought I remembered hearing this?
  6. Shameless plug...I guide for Trout on Taneycomo out of Lilley's Landing, I'm fly only, but if you give them a call they can find someone for conventional gear/Tablerock if required. David Pitt kcflatsco.com
  7. Each unit produces a set amount of MHW Units this is what the schedule reports. (how much power they plan on producing for that hour). running units produc CFS mhw. I think of units as a turbine that is opened to accept pushed up water that turns the turbines, the total outflow is reported as CFS. So you can take the current generation (units or mhw) and divide by CFS to get a feel for how much CFS is scheduled to be produced. At Taney, 0 mwh means 20 cfs wil be released and this when you can freely and safely wade up at the dam at Taney. A half unit you can wad a little, much more than that, no mas. The white has a minimum release of 7 mhw can't remember the CFS, but is wadable at the dam a other places. Hopefully some folks will chime in, on this post about the white, at minimum flow for both the white and Norfork there are mutliple places to wade, not sure where to wade if they have a half unit or more running. Your guides should give you some insight on this.
  8. You are correct in your desire to understand generation it's key to fishing the White and Taneycomo for safety and good results. I mostly fish Taney, so going to let others chime in on best approach to the white. But, here's a free app that will make it easier to see current and scheduled generation. Just search for CFSWater in the app stores.
  9. Put a video together for this pattern that is easy to ty. I've had pretty good luck fishing this as a point attractor fly with a smaller midge/scud fished in the water column or bouncing the bottom, usually a decent size fish will eat it.
  10. Cash Money!
  11. Love fishing the Keys, thanks for the report.
  12. JACKKNIFE!!!
  13. Had good luck this year on the the White and Taney with black body and copper wire and bead
  14. Me and a Buddy will be down Thursday on the water in the afternoon, will try and stop by Lilleys later to say hi and drink a beer. Also fishing Friday am, but need to hit the road after lunch.
  15. Bad weather is when the big browns come out to play, big flies and jerk baits can be on their menu
  16. Accessing the Everglades at Everglades city is definitely is doable from a Kayak or Canoe, but it is a maze of canals and bays, so bring a GPS if you venture a long ways from the boat ramp thee. Also, Hopedale LA about 40 - 60 minutes from New Orleans is DIYable, thinking about doing it myself.
  17. Never have, but might give it a go. Thanks. Love the man crafts
  18. Beautiful
  19. A couple that ties together stays together! Now she has to catch a fish with her flies
  20. Nice! Captain Ian Slater will message you phone number, don't want the automated web scrappers grabbing it.. Also, the Angling Company fly shop is worth a visit if you have not been there.
  21. Captain Ian is your man, He won the Gold cup Tarpon tournament 2024
  22. Had a short trip to Key West, weather was beautiful came back right when cold snap hit. Totally understand why folks move down there. Still playing around with editing and camera. Here's a short video of a trip using a Johnny Cash song. Also, had a few shots at Permit, no go, I need to work on my game, heart was beating out of my chest, I get a little to excited Captain Ian is a great guide, let me know and I can give you his info if interested.
  23. I tied two versions one with flexible wire, and one with rigid wire, the flexible wire can foul, but centrifigul force mostly kept it seperated, and I think when stripped through the water they will unfoul. The rigid wire version is basically foul proof.
  24. I think so, you can mount lead dumbell eyes at the joint or on the point fly to add a little more weight. I'm planning on Taneyfest, will bring it down and you can give it a try if I can find it
  25. Yes, casts ok with 6 weight better with a 8 weight, caught largemouth with it, but did not seem to perform any better than a single clouser, however did not to heavy trials/comparisons with it, but it catches fish. Really just did it for the novelty, and see if it would work.
