Sounds like a tough day Jeff. But you got some fish caught and it was a much better day than working π

An elderly couple walks into McDonalds. The gentleman orders a hamburger meal. They get their meal and sit down. The man unwraps the hamburger and cuts it in half. He gives one half to his wife and keeps the other half. He picks up the fries and counts them out and evenly splits the fries between himself and his wife. The customers around them notice this process. One customer says to his wife that it must be terrible that they can only afford a single hamburger meal. The gentleman begins to eat his part of the burger and his fries. He will take a drink from the soda and then his wife will take a drink from the soda. The woman does not take a bite of any of her food. The other customer gets up and comes over to the couple and he offers to buy them another meal. The gentleman refuses saying that what they have is enough for them both and that they share everything. He then takes another bite of his burger while his wife sits without touching her meai. The customer pleads with the couple to buy them another meal. Again the couple refuses and the gentleman states again that they share everything. Finally the customer gives up. He turns to the woman and asks why she has not touched any of her food. The wife responds that they share everything and she is waiting her turn. "Your turn! What are you waiting for?!?" asks the customer. "The Teeth!" π€£

Saw that someone has posted photos of both species on Roughfish.com. Here is a guy that was catching them this summer.

Hey Dave get ready to have to catch a couple more. There was a paper that re-established Lepomis solis and Lepomis aquilensis from the Longear sunfish complex. L. solis is found in Alabama, GA, and upper FL. L. aquilensis is found in southern AR, LA, TX, and OK. There are also two other potential species in AR and MO, OK that the authors felt need more investigation. Hopefully you can open the paper. Not sure how I feel about this, but kind of like when all I needed was a suwannee and guadeloupe bass then they added four more redeye bass species. And now the bartram, choctaw, Alabama, etc.. Just more to chase I guess. Kim_et_al_in_press splitting longear sunfish.pdf

I don't want anyone to think that I didn't enjoy helping. I really enjoyed as each of them were successful on our trips. Favorites was Ham catching that bluespotted sunfish and Livie catching her mountain redbelly dace! I would do it all over again in a heartbeatπ And trolling Dave with the redbreast sunfish π€£. @FishnDave you should ask how many redbreast Ham caught while trying for his pureblood pumpkinseed.

If she was willing to fish more in Missouri when they were out that way she might have completed 100 out there. If she gives me a couple of outings it shouldn't take too long to get her over the line.
-
She gives me some attitude at times, maybe teen angstπ. I may have to drag here if neededπ
-
I spent some time figuring out spots to maximize Hams opportunities. Livie is so close herself that I am still pushing her towards that first 100 as well as some targeting for building her life list.
-
Unfortunately most were outside ot the time windows that we had to fish together π. Still you made due at every spot that we did fish and had a very successful trip with well over 100 species for the year! I hope that we can do it again and get over to the western side of the state or more southern parts of MD.

Flounder are one of my favorite marine group of fish. They can be very aggressive predators. The sight of the channel flounder coming off my hook in FL still haunts me. It was great that you were able to catch one from the pier buddy. I need to catch some of those southern Flounder or halibut that you have caught before.

Great day @Daryk Campbell Sr! Would like to hear more about that pontoon boat. Maybe I missed a thread. Looks like it is working for you.

I do enjoy cooking venison but not frying it like a chicken fried steak. Not all cuts will be good cooked that way. It will just be tough and difficult to cook it well. How about just salt pepper and lost a little oil in a cast iron pan until medium rare. No extra malarkey. Is delicious to me. Again only certain cuts will work with this type of cooking. I will use venison for a lot of recipes not to cover the taste but to enjoy it even more. Actually much more a versatile meat than most folks give it credit. I have always processed my own deer.. I get rid of all the fat and silverskin that I can which will remove the gamey taste. I wrap the meat tightly in plastic wrap then butcher paper. I have pulled out "lost" pieces from the freezer that were more than a year ago and still don't have a gamey flavor.

These guys were a guarantee fish. So was catching spot but I was the only one to catch a spot π

Anniversary Float with my lovely wife

Looks like you caught a great keeper and the bass was nice as well!π -
Congrats on catching some beauties! Won't be long and some browns will be in that mix.
-
Congrats buddy on a job well done. So glad that we were able to make it happen on this trip! You and I know that once you achieve a goal it's likely on to the next π. If they have been paying attention to your posts maybe on other threads,, then they should know that more are coming. And it's worth noting that I did not catch a pigfishπ.
-
Thanks and just know that I really have enjoyed getting to guide/fish with you in my "new" home waters. Keep posting to get these guys off our backs π!
-
Hey I was working harder than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest working on Ham's list as well as Livie's π€£!
-
He got that one on his own! The spot on Silver lake that I took him to only yielded one brown bullhead π.
-
If you have been following Ham's accounting in the Push for 100. We got a little lucky with the right tide on the bluespotted and also some luck with the white perch to end the first day with 8 new species for the year. Still pressure, but far less than if we still needed 5 or more species going into day 2.
-
Glad that we made the run down to the Lebanon Landing at dusk to get these guys out of the way. Before @JestersHK says it yes these guys are typically used as bait for flounder and other species π. Left you two to go as we did the transition to the brackish/marine species.

Not likely to get much more than a hand slap. Game fines really are weak even for big game animals that are poached. For squirrels I doubt the group gets anything more than $800 to $1000 in fines. Hopefully we can get a follow up.
