JF #91 (Lifer) Bluehead Chub, Necomis leptocephalus We caught a bunch of females and juvenile males. We focused looking at the top of the heads for tubercles or scarring. I never caught a nice male with tubercles, but the scarring on this male assured that we were catching blueheads. since the scars did not extend below the nostrils.

@BassPastor Congrats on a successful trip! I've fished with Duane and had s great time as well. He's a great guide and person!

Another favorite in Missouri. Fished it for nearly 20 years with family and friends and made many great memories. Seen many changes and pressure, but still a favorite of mine.

Kampai, Sake, and Geisha were our favorite sushi places in Columbia. All are really good with Kampai being far better than the other two. The local sushi places out this way are decent. Makes up for the lack of any good Chinese places.

I personally think that you're making this a bigger deal than necessary. Don't participate. As you said it's your choice. I used the other states to present that the MDC is not the only state agency that wants to get some money on the drawing process. To an individual that is a really small amount of money maybe even less than most school raffle tickets. To answer your question yes I would put in for the lottery and have both in KY and PA as well.
-
Other states do use the preference point system.
-
It's no different than other states like Kentucky. PA, etc.

If a business were adding a new business line, you need the budget to support the resources and staff to run that new offering. Initially you work within the capital and resources within your current budget.. However, it's been my experience that you then charge your clients to cover that overhead and resources. No different here since the lottery could be considered a special use permit similar to the trout tags, migratory stamps, etc. So I still contend that the thoughts that there shouldn't be a charge for the lottery, etc. is still naive.
-
Then why have trout tags or daily permits at the trout parks? Seems like a pretty naive thought process.

I didn't either ๐. Just a few years behind yourself.

not sure if this universal soldier got those ears off of mice ๐ I have seen photos of those mice. Pretty weird looking but oddly fascinating. Thought now they were looking to use 3D printing.

Prok loin and roasted vegetables. Used warm spice blend, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, and garlic powder. Also seasoned the parsnips, butternut squash and onion.

At the halfway point of the year and we combined all of our species into one list, we would be over 130+ species. We have caught at least 17 species in common. A few like the bantam and redspotted sunfish were caught from either the same pond or general location. We all caught yellow perch, which I probably should have expected knowing that there is a population in the White that @Ham fishes. Possible that we may all catch a longnose gar (or not ๐) this year and not just @FishnDave. Out this way I only really have access to the longnose, so I would have to travel some to get a shortnose gar. Pretty sure that Ham will get a skipjack herring at some point.

I made that mistake once and spent close to 4 hours cleaning bluegill ๐. Learned my lesson. Still catch as many but keep far fewer ๐

Seems about right. That fish will get bigger the longer that the story is told ๐คฃ Priorities! She can swim and the gear can't ๐ I think we need a bigger stick๐คฃ

@Sam congrats on your PB walleye catch on a Crappie setup. I can believe that you would still be excited about landing that fish!
-
Yes to it being pretty common to have herring and also flying fish eggs on sushi rolls. I like uni sushi which is urchin roe. Delicious.
-
Out this way shad roe is a big delicacy. I haven't been adventurous enough to try it yet.

That eel sauce would make even channel catfish taste great ๐ !

Be careful. The biggest reason you don't see fully freshwater species in sushi is parasites. I've read that all freshwater fish should be cooked before using in sushi. Eels need to be cooked since most of their lives are in freshwater. Salmon do not since they spend most of their lives in saltwater.

I agree on the tasty Gills. Congrats on catching a mess!

My feelings exactly. Love picking berries, but hate ticks and chiggers ! Just now getting over the chigger bites from when I was out in MO back at the end of May.
