  1. You caught me ! Worst part about the trip out there is that Southwest made me check the wheelbarrow at the gate !
  2. Love the tape holding it up @ness
  3. Just need to add a couple of springs or million dollar chiller system for each pond to keep the ponds cool enough to maintain the DO needed for those trout.
  4. Actually sounding more like that garden gnome that was stolen and the former owner would get photos of the gnome next to world famous monuments as it was taken all over the world.
  5. That was one of the concerns with the nutrient loading going into the lake.
  6. I would bet money that you hadn't even looked at the report before you commented. The biggest reason is that this study was done in 1987 and it was performed to try to understand fluctuations in the condition of the trout in the lake at that time. Trout are kind of a big deal in Lake Taneycomo. The fluctuations in fish condition was attributed to a decline in the amphipod and isopod populations. What was also learned from the report was evidence that the potential cause of the reduction in amphipods and isopods within the lake between 1980 and 1987 was attributed to the runoff surrounding the area. Based upon that information there may have been attempts to reduce the runoff impacts due to nutrient loading and siltation into the lake which should have had a positive affect on the amphipod and isopod populations.
  7. Seems to be the leading thought on what this object was. You would think that the producers would chime in. Second thoughts are some sort of performance art. I stated on the What are you listening to thread that Kansas was the first concert that I have ever attended. I enjoyed the show!
  8. Lately it seems that we either loosely regard definitions in our reporting or make up new definitions to suit our narratives. I have been casually paying attention to the Metal object found in Utah. In case you haven't seen it, here it is (was). Every article written about this has referred to it as a monolith. By definition a monolith is a stone object and not a metal one. monolith [ˈmänəˌliTH] NOUN a large single upright block of stone, especially one shaped into or serving as a pillar or monument. synonyms: standing stone · menhir · sarsen (stone) · megalith Cambridge dictionary definition - a large block of stone standing by itself that was put up by people in ancient times Merriam Webster - Definition of monolith 1 : a single great stone often in the form of an obelisk or column A granite monolith stands at the center of the park. So it just seems that the reporters either don't know what the true definition of monolith is or that they want to invoke 2001: A space Odyssey, suggest that this is either alien, or that it is(was) ancient. As more was said about the object, it disappears. We may never know what this really was, but in my mind it never was a monolith. Rant over !
  9. Even those stockers can smarten up a bit after they get pressured. You caught a couple of nice ones!
  10. Congrats on a decent day of trout on Capp's! Any size on the brown's?
  11. Nice crappie. Congrats!
  12. They probably have made at least one COVID christmas movie and probably aired them around the 4th of July🙄.
  13. Pretty sure that we went over this last Xmas since I thought that I posted this video but could be 2 yrs ago.
  14. Actually one of my favorites. I mentioned to Sue that we should soon be seeing the Little Drummer boy discussion on the forum 😉
  15. Some words of wisdom. For you 80s folks How I feel about my favorite fishing spot during the pandemic Tired of being inside. Corona wisdom There's hope for all of us. Done with 2020 Not a truer statement than this
  16. We had a great holiday and hope that others on this forum did as well!. This forum and the folks on here are a big part of what is great about this country!
  17. Congrats to that deerslayer! Any time that we get kids involved in the outdoors is a win for us all.
  18. @laker67 sounds like a good time regardless of the rude folks. There is a lack of respect in a lot of public areas. Sucks. Glad that a couple of lunkers came to hand.
  19. All I can think about is the old gypsy saying "Whoever is bitten by a werewolf and lives, becomes a werewolf himself!"
  20. Did have a crush on her as a teen. I probably would have laid my money down 😉
  21. So she was the gypsy?!?
  22. Yep she either cursed you or knew you really well 😁😉
  23. So would this happen today? In 7th grade we had a Halloween costume dance. I made my own costume and went as an Iron City Beer can that was cracked open and with cotton "foam" coming out of the top. I actually won best costume and the prize was the 45 of this song. Though the song is pretty tame compared to today's music. Still seems like a kid wearing a beer can outfit winning a song about losing you virginity would probably be frowned upon in most schools now.
  24. Thanksgiving day classic!
