  1. Apparently that color works well on those 10 lb brush monsters!
  2. Just based upon location it is more likely a shadow bass. Would have to look at it again with one of my field guides handy.
  3. Yeah we would all like to go back and be "that guy" again. I'm still impressed with those fish! Congrats again buddy!
  4. Nice brown! Who caught that one? You guys are tearing them up compared to my day. Trout fishing this morning - 0. I had several browns short strike but no hookups. Micros this afternoon - 0. Saw only a handful of fish. You know its a rough day when you literally put the bait on a sculpin's head and it won't bite. Drive over 2 and a half hours through a wintery mix. Sucked! Can't wait to get on some desperate Missouri fish !
  5. So you'll be airing in central MO just as I am moving East. What online options are there for your show?
  6. Yeah. He said that he was the one that shot the fish, but that guy in the photo had hair ! Ok I'm a bit jealous of BH's alt state record. I've been trying to catch a state record sculpin using a limb line!
  7. Nice mixed bag of winter fish. Congrats buddy! Were you filming on this trip?
  8. Have to ask BilletHead how it feels to hold a record fish !
  9. Now you know why I thought that I had a brown when I hooked into that white sucker back in June. Those Native fish have plenty of power. Congrats and Keep channeling the Folly mojo ! Makes for a much more interesting trip or at least your posts will be more interesting !
  10. And they call me a microfishetman! Giving you props for gettting out and fishing. Good luck with the long rod!
  11. I may start to take some offense to the "old man" naps ! I feel very strongly that naps are wasted on children!
  12. I feel sorry for the guy from Poplar Bluff that gigged a 2 lb 8 oz northern hogsucker in Oct to break the state record at that time and then have this guy gig a bigger one in Jan. Reminds me of the state brown trout record a few years ago. I believe the first guy broke the record in July and the current record fish was caught in Oct.
  13. The alternative methods record smallmouth is 4 lbs 3.92 oz. They say that it was caught on while jugfishing (RIGHT !?! )
  14. Stay safe buddy. We are having weird weather. It was 60 deg today, but may only top out at 35 deg on Sat and expecting rain or snow in the afternoon and evening. I am hoping to get back out and maybe catch a brown or two more, but also hope for something new ! We'll have to see who gets more impressive catch photos posted on Sunday !
  15. Continue to take care of your wife. Glad to hear of the good prognosis. We'll keep you guys in our prayers.
  16. Congrats Phil on a couple of nice browns. I do like the more heavily colored diploid browns. Still wouldn't mind hooking a big beefy triploid brown. Thanks for posting this video!
  17. Congrats Quillback! Those are some nice fish. Even though they are bass !
  18. That's a great bunch of Feb crappie. Congrats!
  19. MOPanfisher I understand how difficult it is to put your dog down yourself. We had our bordet collie for 12 years. She was a rescue and never really knew how old she really was. We knew it was time as she became more incontinent, was losing weight, had hip issues and trouble getting up and down the stairs. I took her out the last time very early in the morning to not wake the neighbors. That was the most spry that she had been in over a month. Broke my heart.
  20. We went through both sides in just under 5 hours. If I do that again I would go through one portion in the morning, go out and get lunch and then go back and go through the rest. Since they scan your tickets at each part instead of tearing it shouldn't be a problem going off site to get lunch. Only issue may be parking !
  21. Good to see some spring poking through after the ice issues. May mean some Missouri darters may be in their spawning colors when I get backthere next week! Sorry didn't mean to bring up fishing on this garden thread !
  22. Good luck! Can't wait to see if catch some more fatties.
  23. Congrats on those bass! They are pigs or did you just fill them with shot ! Those babies have been eating well or are full of eggs.
  24. Congrats on the new boat and your success on the trout and those stinkin bass! Hopefully get to see it in Dec.

    What's Cooking?

Agreed. Got 7 days before heading back to MO, but will have to be back in MD 2nd to the 7th. Should be able to work in a possible Hank Shaw book tour event before I get back out East !
