  1. You just need to know how to cook them😉!
  2. Sorry that we weren't able to get together when we were passing through KY. Looks like you are/were having some fun. I have been on a tour of the Bushmills distillery in Northern Ireland. Absolutely loved being in the barrel/aging room breathing in the "angel's share"😉
  3. Assuming that this is not a nutria, here on the Eastern shore of Maryland they have a special name for muskrats, Dinner😆😉! Lots of folks around here do trap, having skinning contests, and eat muskrats.
  4. Where did you see this elk?
  5. Valley Falls - WV
  6. Great trout catches Pete! I would love to be fishing Taney right now. Have to live vicariously by you guys😉.
  7. I would put those in the same hereditary category as the blacknose crappie. and the hand painted bluegill down in FL panhandle. I would still want to catch one😉😁
  8. In my opinion, I prefer brown trout fishing over rainbows mainly due to the fact that they are more predatory in nature which to me makes them more exciting to fish for and to catch. That being said, I will never turn down the opportunity to catch big rainbows 😉.
  9. Retread of this meme but still makes me laugh🤣🤣
  10. @FishnDave I would consider both of those as three-toed box turtles. The ornate box turtle which is also in your area tend to have darker scutes than that first turtle with less and more defined yellow markings. Also they are opposite in terms of having orange/red scales on the legs and a green/yellow head.
  11. I just couldn't find the time to try and fish the creek for gar and grassies😔.
  12. Persimmons need to be really ripe for me to try them. To many puckers from less than ideal fruit. A little grove of persimmons surrounded by oaks can be a great spot to hunt deer. Especially after a frost.
  13. I agree with Ollie that many of my best days for browns have been overcast, rain or better yet snow storms😉. I have fished for them at the crack of dawn but find that I have done better on some rivers between 10 and 2 pm. I have always wondered if that was due to the fish picking up their feeding then or if that was about the time that I reached water that that gets little pressure from others.
  14. I caught them at crane with a 1/64 white Marabou jigs and a 1/16 oz white rooster tail inline spinner. Hope that gives you another option. Good luck.
  15. That is a big Chesapeake Channa😉. Will be hard to beat. Our largest so far was a little less than 7 lbs. I may have more opportunity with a record fallfish.
  16. I would love to go to an event like that someday😉
  17. I have seen lots of articles about using and rigging ribbonfish for king mackerel. Would like to try it some time.
  18. Love hearing about goal setting and their completion. Pretty cool accomplishment for such a young girl. https://www.bangordailynews.com/2024/09/04/outdoors/fishing/young-girl-reaches-goal-many-experienced-fishermen-have-not-joam40zk0w/
  19. Congrats on a nice Grassie!
  20. Nice bass Pete! Sounds like a good day.
  21. I have only eaten bear meat from bears killed in PA and NY. Blueberries made up a big part of their diet. The meat was like beef but a bit sweeter. You do have to cook near meat until well done since trichinosis.or.other diseases are still prevalent.
  22. For those of us that grew up watching the Price is Right when we were home sick from school,😉
  23. Will do. Going to be busy with the grand kids most of the time.
