Love the tape holding it up @ness -
Just need to add a couple of springs or million dollar chiller system for each pond to keep the ponds cool enough to maintain the DO needed for those trout.

Actually sounding more like that garden gnome that was stolen and the former owner would get photos of the gnome next to world famous monuments as it was taken all over the world. -
That was one of the concerns with the nutrient loading going into the lake.

I would bet money that you hadn't even looked at the report before you commented. The biggest reason is that this study was done in 1987 and it was performed to try to understand fluctuations in the condition of the trout in the lake at that time. Trout are kind of a big deal in Lake Taneycomo. The fluctuations in fish condition was attributed to a decline in the amphipod and isopod populations. What was also learned from the report was evidence that the potential cause of the reduction in amphipods and isopods within the lake between 1980 and 1987 was attributed to the runoff surrounding the area. Based upon that information there may have been attempts to reduce the runoff impacts due to nutrient loading and siltation into the lake which should have had a positive affect on the amphipod and isopod populations.

Seems to be the leading thought on what this object was. You would think that the producers would chime in. Second thoughts are some sort of performance art. I stated on the What are you listening to thread that Kansas was the first concert that I have ever attended. I enjoyed the show! -
Lately it seems that we either loosely regard definitions in our reporting or make up new definitions to suit our narratives. I have been casually paying attention to the Metal object found in Utah. In case you haven't seen it, here it is (was). Every article written about this has referred to it as a monolith. By definition a monolith is a stone object and not a metal one. monolith [ˈmänəˌliTH] NOUN a large single upright block of stone, especially one shaped into or serving as a pillar or monument. synonyms: standing stone · menhir · sarsen (stone) · megalith Cambridge dictionary definition - a large block of stone standing by itself that was put up by people in ancient times Merriam Webster - Definition of monolith 1 : a single great stone often in the form of an obelisk or column A granite monolith stands at the center of the park. So it just seems that the reporters either don't know what the true definition of monolith is or that they want to invoke 2001: A space Odyssey, suggest that this is either alien, or that it is(was) ancient. As more was said about the object, it disappears. We may never know what this really was, but in my mind it never was a monolith. Rant over !

@laker67 sounds like a good time regardless of the rude folks. There is a lack of respect in a lot of public areas. Sucks. Glad that a couple of lunkers came to hand.

All I can think about is the old gypsy saying "Whoever is bitten by a werewolf and lives, becomes a werewolf himself!" -

So would this happen today? In 7th grade we had a Halloween costume dance. I made my own costume and went as an Iron City Beer can that was cracked open and with cotton "foam" coming out of the top. I actually won best costume and the prize was the 45 of this song. Though the song is pretty tame compared to today's music. Still seems like a kid wearing a beer can outfit winning a song about losing you virginity would probably be frowned upon in most schools now. -
