  1. You don't want to be smaller than a turkey😁.
  2. I hope so buddy. I may have the stripers figured out by then. I can catch a bunch of small ones. Don't have the big ones figured out yet.
  3. This is the third "Jigfest" that I have attended. Pretty intimidated on that first trip. Wanted to fish the White for those trout that I had seen throughout this forum. That was a great trip and I began learning how to fish jigs in current, fish from a boat, etc. Got to meet lots of guys that I read all their posts. After the third trip still learning. Got to fish with a consummate guide Duane on this trip. Lots of stories amd lots of smack talk and Duane catching fish from spots that I just ran a bait through. I get a lot of grief for hanging my baits. Even have my name being used as a verb. But as Duane said clench both butt cheeks and cast as close to the bank as possible. If you hang up we'll go get it. He helped me not only by fishing advice but it was his sculpin pattern that got that first Taney brown😀. I ended up catching a night time brown again using a Duane rainbow scented shallow running baits! Having been around these guys over the last three years has been a great time. Lots of great guys on this forum. I can never repay these guys for their knowledge, gear (family were impressed on the color coded trout magnets😁), willing to share their time as well to help others to get on fish and help them catch and achieve their goals. I have tried to pay it forward when I can. Going to be harder now that I am in Maryland. I have no reason to not continue to be active on this great site that @Phil Lilley has created. Anyone heading out east look me up and we might be able to get you on some fish. Especially if you want to target some of those "other"fish. Also if you ever catch something that you need help with figuring out "WT heck" is this I'll do what I can or ask folks that can help.
  4. Why do I feel that there should be a brushpile or rock structure under that tree😁. Happy Holidays!
  5. You have those crappie figured out! Great catches!

    What's Cooking?

Looks good. Live chicken wings. They started breeding single winged birds to keep them from flying away. Also makes for a meatier wing😁!
  7. Holy smokes Duane! We found the boxes this morning. Thank you very much. Now I have to keep them color coordinated😌
  8. Still have one last MO trip planned for the 11 point tomorrow with @Ham. That should be a great trip as well. Thanks buddy for putting up with me and my stoic nature.
  9. Did catch one more Taney brown tonight while fishing with the big brown trout boys. @JestersHK says that he guided me to that fish so we're good on his promise😌. Not a Taneycomo ironman so headed back in. Never get that chance to fish with everyone. Had a great time with the guys here at Lilley's and lots of memories. Lots of great food cooked up by @grizwilson and even food and sauces left by @Terrierman and @BilletHead were enjoyed by all. Just wish that they ran some water. Thanks to @Phil Lilley for boarding us for the weekend. Duane @duckydoty you're a great fisherman, one hell of a multitalented guy and severely OCD about your jig wraps😁. It was great fishing with you. If I tied a better nanofil to fluorocarbon leader knot we might have seen that other fish. I somewhat doubt that I would be able to make it to the White in Feb. But we'll have to see. Tight lines!
  10. Hey I smiled when I caught a redspot chub in the Spring river above Stott's City. Caught them in the spot that I first met @dan hufferd for the first time😁. That was my 64th species since March. The most number of different species in a year 😁. Also got Ham on some new species. Smiled then as well.
  11. I smiled quiet a bit. Maybe just on the inside. Had a great time with Duane. He did catch a few right behind me. His baits look great in the water and that brown hit the Doty sculpin.
  12. Nice fish guys! Haven't had a sniff at a brown hoping to get that done this morning. Bowed out last night and missed out on a OAF fishing legend story.
  13. Congrats guys! Put me in my place to back out last night. Would have been special just to see you two wrestling that giant brown! Great job and well deserved you just can't make this stuff up.
  14. All sculpin were released unharmed. We were granted an event only pass to go for micros in these typically restricted waters .
  15. We're getting a wintery mix here in Columbia. Just a warmup for this weekend.
  16. I have plates, utensils, paper towels, and sime bowls. Can someone grab cups and trash bags? Have the last two boxes in this store of the Don's chuck wagon onion ring batter😂.
  17. Good luck on your elk hunt. A bit jealous. My first and last trip was a bust on seeing elk. Found a decent skeletonized 5 by 5 that I brought home the antlers. It's been almost 6 yrs ago. Can't either put away the money or make the time to get back out west. Anyway good luck again and like @JestersHK said looking forward to the report.
  18. @shrapnel Congrats sounds like a good bite! I just can't see the photos😢.
  19. They scare off girls because they have armadillos in their trousers😂.
  20. One of my goals now is to catch that Taney brown trout. Another is to not have my name become another verb .
  21. I had the advantage, I got to pack last Sat/Sun in order to head to Missouri. I even got to pay to fly with my fishing rods .
  22. I brought five rod and reel combos, waders, two headlamps, hand and foot warmers, hat, jerkbaits, zig jigs, plastics, and will likely pick up some redworms in case I get the itch to run to some creeks for micros! And with all of that maybe I will catch a fish or two and not lose all my tackle getting Follyrigged on the bottom !
  23. Hey did you try to fish the Mad River? Didn't know if you had caught a trout in Ohio already.
  24. Let me know if you are willing to put up with me for a half day Friday after I get down to Phil's.
