  1. In Eastern MD, lots of field hunting for geese. think I may even sent BH a photo or two from my last trip. No reason to bother breaking ice when the birds are in the fields. Now getting permission to hunt where the geese are is a much different issue! I believe that some of the leases get passed down through estate wills !
  2. QB - congrats on a decent couple of days of fishing! Great info and photos. Maybe it will help me if I ever get down that way !
  3. Ness - Very nice! I'm sure that Mitch would be interested in an enlargement of that crayfish photo and possible location to match the hatch for his HiDef craws ! There needs to be a little more information provided about the one photo that looks like a reproduction trout.
  4. With the Urban trout catch and keep coming up on Feb 1, thought I would post a few photos of Livie through the years.
  5. Baxter Bluegill are great fun when they spawning and most other times as well☺. There is lots of panfish information in the posts on the panfish forum. Many of us like to use jigs or small lures for bluegill and other panfish, but should also be info on flies and poppers.
  6. This may have been the fish that started the micro-obsession. When I caught this sculpin I didn't even know that there was more than one species besides the banded sculpin here in Missouri. This was one of many Ozark sculpin that I have caught since then. Even with long arming this fish, it was still a micro ! Livie and I would have competitions on the largest and smallest fish down at Bennett's.
  7. These are even older fishing photos from one of the first times that they opened the lake at Bass Pro Shops here in town for kids fishing. Livie never minded holding her fish. Sean never really liked holding his fish !
  8. Very nostalgic. Got me thinking of a few photos as well. Here's a few from a local crappie fishing trip many years ago. There have been many crappie that Livie has caught from this lake since this photo. This may have been one of the last times my son actually caught and held a fish. Not his favorite pastime. My oldest even got into a few crappie that day.
  9. Those are very nice looking smallies. Thanks for sharing! Looks like some from Al's paintings.

Mistake reading this post before making breakfast. My oatmeal won't be the same now. Thanks BH😞.

    Get Out!

Wow that was quite a story. Glad that it turned out well. Very nice bass photo☺!
  12. Congrats Marty! Persistence paid off for you and the Mrs☺!
  13. I threw that in to get a response out of you Marty☺! You know that I want to complete the cutt slams in many of the western states. Looks like that may be more challenging where I am likely headed this year.
  14. Great trip buddy! Would have loved to had been with you catching those cutthroat even though they aren't ibeing caught in their native range☺! Doesn't sound like you got into any brookies. Maybe next trip.
  15. Congrats guys! Great bunch of fish.

    What's Cooking?

If I shot a second deer tartare was on the menu. Love carpaccio. In fact my Betterhalf and I shared Octopus carpaccio Thurs night. They did cook the octopus, bundled slices, then wrapped them to bind the pieces. Sliced wafer thin and served with a little olive oil, avacado and red onion. Was very good☺.

    What's Cooking?

I had some of the risotto. It was delicious and the lobster was cooked perfectly. The risotto had a bit of cheese, possibly parmesan, but the majority of flavor came from what we assumed was good lobster stock.
  18. The guy next to us on our flight into Baltimore told us about how the deer would come into their orchard and eat the fermented apples. They would stand spread legged to keep their balance or lean up against the fence. He said his daughter would walk over to the drunk deer and take selfies. He said once they sobered up a bit they would head back to the apples☺!

    What's Cooking?

The Mrs had lobster risotto. That plate looked a lot like mine. Secret chef's recipes. I could show you the step by step photos but would have to kill you ☺! Too tired to head back to MO over that so I'll skip posting those photos.

    What's Cooking?

What a seared rockfish (striped bass) fillet with lemon and capers served with broccolini looks like in Maryland ! Also had a glass of Tramin Pinot Grigio with dinner. Might have been at Ness' house!
  21. Most of those wrecks occur in convenienve store parking lots☺!
  22. I was just focusing on our trout fishing. Definitely glad that the girls caught fish or else that would really had become a death march☺!

    What's Cooking?

How did it taste? Looks interesting.
  24. Very nice bunch of bunnies BH! My dad had an old sixteen ga side by side. Shot it a few times but never hunted with it. Don't remember much about it. My mom sold it after they divorced when I was 17. I did shoot his old Colt 22 mag squirrel pistol. She sold that as well. I did get his Mossberg Chuckster 22 mag. Haven't hunted with it this year. Been shooting game with my scattergun this year.
  25. I fished with you for one night. Can't imagine what it would be like to fish with you for several days or a week. Don't know if I could keep up☺! Wouldn't mind trying maybe in Louisiana or Florida!
