  1. Sitting here watching last weeks show. K. Short, Birge, and Wheeler are hammering the heck out of them, and some good ones too.
  2. Great. Pomme is a great fishery, that is really pretty easy to figure out for most guys. Good luck on the tonuney.
  3. Haha, thats why i mentioned "blasting" by, because you and I were out there, and trust me, in my boat at 35 i was wishing i was in a cove somewhere instead of trying to get to another spot. Wish i was in your boat or Alans Deep V Lowe that day. stockton can get brutal in a hurry. The "catching" made up for it tho. Still get happy when i think of the amount of bites i got that day. I have fishd Stockton pretty hard the past almost 20 years, and as far as numbers, that was one of the more memorial days. Ive done it on Pomme several times, but not Stockton. Jason "bassfisher as well as his other 3 names here" gets a little testy at times. Hes had some issues on this foum with guys. He left me a few PM's this morning around 2:30am that i read after i got up. Hes harmless so i just kinda grin. P.S. You going to make the Pomme tourney in May?
  4. Thats some clean water for as much as has come into the lake. Shoulda hooked my boat up this morning.
  5. Except those weighin lines have water tanks, and after 30 seconds if that, of getting weights, back in the tank they go.
  6. I didnt watch that one yet. I often wonder how many guys that fish for a living really use it. I know they plug sponsor baits on every show their on, and at every stage they weigh in at, but why hasnt Z-Man or other Ned bait making companies sponsored one of the big guys yet? I will keep my eye out for that portion of the show quill.
  7. He keeps us guessing. Lots of soft shoulders on the forum, so he keeps me guessing on if he will piss someone off today, or hurt someones feelings. Im a "say what i think" guy also, but try to keep my fingers from typing it. Now in person, uh huh.
  8. Also tho im a 99.9% bass fisherman, i would be glad to take you out and see if i could actually catch walleye while trying. We have 13 year old twin boys, and 1 of them loves to troll so when hes in the boat, we troll Flicker Shads and catch several walleye that way. Just send me a PM when your close to going to the lake, and i will take you out.
  9. Any of those baits you mentioned will work. Bass tournament last week, i caught 3 walleye slow rolling a 4 1/2" Zoom Swimmin Fluke along hard gravel bottoms. A 4" grub would do it also, as well as a C-Rig bait pulled slowly on the bottom around bridge piers. Walk the dam area throwing #7 Flicker Shads.
  10. I blew thru 3 bags of Zoom Swimmin Flukes last Sat. so i know what you mean. I was getting down on supply around noon, so started gluing the nose on to help catch more from each bait. Worked pretty slick. Threw a Strike King KVD 4" Swim'n Caffeine Shad but they didnt want it as much as the Zoom Swimmin Super Fluke in watermelon red Now the next tourney, they will be on something totally different. Love the thrill of fishing, as much as catching.
  11. huh? you stated you would be blasting by, and i just asked if you made it out, as we didnt see a Skeeter blasting anywhere. Been drinking last night? Sometimes you are hard to read man.
  12. So many articles have been written on this, by those that have college degrees, study fish daily, and set at desks typing their results. Like MO said, seems like the next 2 years or so after floods, the amount of catchable fish double. Those fish that were in 5' of water, will still be in that area, now with just 10' over the top if them. Sunlight plays a roll in the spawn as far as penetration, but the greater act in my readings, are locations and what part of the spawn the fish are in when the water rises. If their on the bed when the water rises, then they will remain. If they havent moved up, then they will follow and find wood, hard bottoms, etc. to lay on/in. Fish have been dealing with these issues for many moons, and seem to have it figured out. Can you amagine turning the tables, and fish doing a study on humans, as to why we fish the way we do, use the baits/lines we do, fish at different hours of the day, etc. They would look as puzzled as we do.
  13. Yep come join us. Those i mentioned above will be there. That boat will handle it just fine.
  14. Thats some cool info in that article. Going thru wood, metals, plastics would be a sight. Fact that its not a storm only related flash is cool. And people travel the world to see different sights.
  15. Never seen nor heard of that. Went to a Junk-A-Palozza flea market today. Weather was good with no rain until we got in the truck. Seen some of the longest streaks of bolts i have ever seen today. Such a cool part of nature.
  16. So im assuming your associated with the FLW?
  17. Our club tourney last month out of Cape was not the best. We had storms with rain. Within 15 minutes of us starting, the lightning came. By then everyone was headed to their starting spot. I stayed within 200 yards of the ramp, just in case. Within 2 hours the storms were gone. And that was us in aluminum cans holding those lightning rods. I have been in many, many if those situations, as many here have. Never have i left due to weather. As Wrench stated, if im signed up to fish, im fishing. I know my and my boats limitations, and stay within them if possible.
  18. thats fishable water right there
  19. what day was it for?
  20. Guys, this is coming from a guy that is as against hauling tournament fish, as there is on this board. Good to see his perspective on boating conditions tho. As i read these comments, it takes me taping my fingers together to not speak out AGAINST outsiders sitting on their keyboards, saying what someone else should do. So since Wrench is saying what my fingers want to type "if i would remove the tape" then i will let him keep speaking. Just against people trying to govern others when there not involved. I totally understand and agree with the rescue teams being forced to go retrieve them upon an accident, but the marshalls, camera guys, spectators, etc are not forced to ride along. They do so for the excitement and opportunity. Carry on Wrench
  21. That was a good pick Donna. He weighed the heaviest bag today and is sitting pretty. He has fish located for tomorrow, but with the water still fliwing in, doubt they will still be in the exact spot.
  22. What model Skeeter did ya get? Any pics yet? Chad seen it?
  23. How'd that Skeeter run last Sat.? Andy and i looked for you out there but didnt see a Skeeter moving fast.
  24. BT shows KVD with 18 pounds today. And this is one of the few times i didnt pick him. Go figure.
  25. Nice report Mike. Good choice in leaving those brownies for the Largemouth. Good luck next tourney.
