Went to brown town tonight. Started off with the fly rod and stripped a @BilletHead clouser in sculpin colors. The brownies seemed to like it along with some bows. First fish was first brown of the weekend on a fast strip. He hit and launched straight into the air but I was able to get keep him buttoned up. A bit later I got a great hit on a pause and landed another brownie net filler just shy of 21in on the tape. Non triploid too with his fin intact. Both fish fought better than the bows and got them both in quick and released after a quick pic. A few guys were fishing and I just missed one landing a 10lb bow or so. Was chilly tonight in the low 40s and I was not layered up properly despite my fatness... That last brown got my arms wet so I called it early as were doing SDC tomorrow and gonna try to fish with Blake tomorrow night. I'll take quality over quantity though any night.

Both of those bigger ones were a bit sluggish. I kept them in the water and they did swim off strong, but other than the initial take they just sort of wallored in. Might be the lower DO at night?

Dang that's some bummer timing on my behalf lol. I like fishing with that Doug character, but gotta watch him he's shifty 😄 You guys be safe getting home.

Found a few this evening. A few on plum crazy jerk, but they are midging so much i switched to a black and purple jig. The rain and wind was annoying but was lucky to find a few net fillers that were worthy of a pic. Had a good one on for a bit. Hit solid, started peeling drag and popped my 4lb like it was nothing... Wish I could of seen that one. Family trip so I'll mostly be hitting it at night.

Hang in there Mic. Spent 3 years of my life doing one of the biggest mergers ever on an IT level... It truly burned me out. I left my 20yr career shortly after to consult during the covid years. Fishing kept me going through those rough times. I can't say I'm any happier now, but I'm cutting years off until I can retire... Good luck, and just get out there and make time to fish.

Now that we have a corum, shall we discuss our road to staying pleasurably plump? For the new comers Jigfest food is number 2 on the list of things most loved and treasured. Fishing is number 3, Commaraderi is number 1. I heard the following Rick say he's bringing chili Cody's up to bat for Crawfish etoufe Brett's got fryer and catfish I'll take dessert request for the sweet toothed? Wifes cheesecake and maybe some chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes, and muffins for breakfast. I think we're gonna starve again...

Umm i think we'll be in dire need of sustenance if we don't have no chili... We should likely start a food thread. I'm down for bringing kale and humus...

If you start practicing now with gorging yourself and then sleep deprivation training it will make things allot easier on yourself... Stretch out that stomach and start cranking red bulls now to build up that stamina. I'd suggest growing a beard and start sleeping outside to prepare for fishing in 13 degree weather, but last year spoiled us with warm sunny days. Good to see some new blood coming. Cody if you're making craw fish again, let's quadruple the batch haha.

Very nice and congrats on a successful trip. I try to catch trout in every state I visit and know that feeling when you just can't connect... beautiful samples you caught there though. Thanks for sharing.

Was great meeting you and fishing together Friday night. Wish the fish cooperated a bit better. We found some tonight, only 1 over 20 and a chunky brownie. Jig bite was on fire for a bit tonight. 1/32 sculpin.

I love me some spiders and reptiles... never understood the fear of them. I do dispatch recluses inside and one year I killed a black widow on the kids swing set one but I try to let most live...
