  1. The Sparks are awesome little Drones! Lots of tech packed into a small package. I inherited a Phantom I am trying to nurse back to health. Has a bad remote after a botched firmware update... The DJI family of drones are some of the better ones out there. At least when it comes to software and easy to fly settings and such. We just had 2 of our commercial grade drones crash after some flaky software. 30 grand in sensors and hardware lost in 30 seconds
  2. Sounds like you guys had a great day buddy. Nice multi species trip to boot. That salamander is wicked.
  3. That was really cool to watch good sir! I love the new format too. A day in the life of a jig lol.
  4. You gonna be boat fishing or wade fishing? Fly fishing or spinning gear? Doing any night fishing? It's best to bring both if ya got it so you can adapt to whatever flows they are running. Hit me up on IM and I'll share a few spots with ya. The trophy area theres fish just about everywhere, but they do tend to congregate in certain spots depending on the generation.
  5. They stepped it down and by Sunday of last weekend they had cut the generation in half. Looks like with the rain they bumped it back up a bit. Plenty of wadable water at 2 units, but you just got to pick your spots and be careful. We had a great jig bite going with 2 units before we had to leave. No real pattern as of late, hopefully they settle into one as TR is sitting around 915. http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/pages/data/tabular/htm/tabrock.htm
  6. Nice job buddy! Looks like a good day out there. Still need a lesson on strippin those BH streamers!
  7. Welcome to Missourah, If you don't like the weather just wait a day... er hour... err half hour... errr 5 minutes. LOL
  8. Hang in there, Not too far from ya if you ever need anything.
  9. Nice Cutt! Thats a great pic.
  10. Great news! Sounds like you soldiered through a tough year, and I'm glad you came out of it alright.
  11. Good luck and welcome to the forums. Hopefully one of the local guys will chime in on how fishings been.
  12. Yeah I'm the same usually with finding big ones, I'm to the point where unless the bite is on fire I try to not stay out all night every night of the weekend... Catches up to ya too. Good luck with the snagging, and the Walters are still in there, We generally catch at least one on the jerk baits most trips. I may need a partner too for the CAM tourney April 7th? You gonna fish it? With both our lucks one of us could stick a big one LOL. HAHA, I still owe ya a Taneycomo Brownie Buddy. No Browns this weekend at all... Not sure where they wandered off to. Didn't see any around the outlets during the day either, but we typically stay away from the outlets unless we are messing around or slump busting in the kiddie pool.
  13. Nice! Thanks for doing this PW!
  14. Post report recap. Another trip in the books. More consistent bites though than 2 weeks ago. This was also a 1st timer trip with one of my new neighbors. Never fished with him before, and he'd never been trout fishing as he's primarily a Bass fisherman. He did have some ultralight gear, and a nice little pfluegger combo that turned out to be a nice jigging setup. He was also a trooper with power fishing, although I am 9 years older than him . My wife warned him that we fish hard and that I'd try to kill him with fishing non stop, but he hung in there great through the evenings. He looked a little worse for wear on Sunday, but we actually slept a bit more on this trip LOL. Was a great time and watching him set the hook was always entertaining! Friday Night 4 units running, a bit chilly, but we layered up good. Tough wading in that flow and you're almost bank fishing at that point. I stuck to my familiar spots up between outlet one and the cable, and we explored a bit past outlet one 2. I explained the jigging and jerk bait basics to my buddy and after a few casts I hooked up. Took him a minute of getting used to the heavy flow but he got it figured out and caught his first rainbow ever. We wandered down and I showed him outlet 2 and there were 2 guys standing on the stairs with a flyrod. One guy was swinging and the other was shining the light on his indicator. We didn't stick around too long to see if they'd hook up. Its tough fishing 4, and it was a pretty slow bite so we headed up to get checked in and get ready for Saturday. Saturday was awesome. They kicked down to 3 units at midnight, dropped it enough we could get to a few more spots wading, and it was a bit warmer with the sun out. Got out after a quick breakfast and my buddy was excited to actually be able to see what he was fishing. Funny moment as this was his first time wading and he actually startled when a trout swam down by his legs. I hit my biggest fish of the weekend pretty early into the morning and felt a little remorse that he wasn't fairing as well. He was missing the bites and hookups trying to feel the difference between bottom and bite. I got him slowed down a bit and using a bit more finesse and thats when that big bow hammered his jig. That made my weekend for me when we finally got her in. It was a big confidence boost for him too, and after that he started connecting more, albeit still a bit slow by my standards. We fished almost the whole day, I took him by Phil's place to get some jigs and chit chat for a bit and thought we might fish off the dock for a bit. Thanks to Victor for hooking up my buddy with his trophy release certificate. Made my buddy's day. Phil and Duane said the dock bite was slow so we headed back down in the afternoon and was super tough there before dark. Lots of boats up that way, but less people so not sure what was up with the bite. We did turn in that evening pretty early as the forecast said 2 units for Sunday. Sunday arrived and we overslept a bit due to my phone dying... We got on the water around 7ish and I started getting bit real good on white. Most of been some shad come through as I had 4 hookups right off the bat. Nothing huge, but bigger than some of the dinks we ran into 2 weeks ago. Sicne the water dropped a bit I took him back down past the last outflow out onto the little grass bump down there and we started whacking them on white and olive and ginger jigs. All males and they were fiesty in the fast water. We had to get home though and shut it down a bit early. Always hurts to leave when they are turned on, but thats fishing and gotta keep the Momma's happy. I think I planted a pretty good seed with this one! Can never have 2 many fishing buddies, and this makes twice now I've brought 1st timers down that catch an over 20 inch fish... Lucky ducks...
  15. Made it home safe and sound. Phone died last night as my power outlet was out which caused us to sleep in lol... Got a bit of a late start but hit the water around 7. Had a good consistent jig bite this morning though. We fished past the last outlet number 7 and caught a bunch of decent males down there. White and red 3 32nd oz jigs and also a ginger and olive with olive head jigs. My buddy had a nice one break off which I'm thinking was a male that cut him off with his teeth. Had him almost all the way in too... I'll stop some more pics here in a bit.
  16. Dang buddy those are 2 well earned fish my friend. Looks amazing out there though. That stuff you can keep. Lol. Nice job getting it done. I still need a Brook too.
  17. Yeah was slow as well besides the 2 nice ones. They def make up for a slow day though lol. This afternoon stunk. Slow again for us anyways. Heading up for some dinner and a power nap. Schedule says they are going down to 2 units at midnight! Hopefully we can get into them.
  18. A few more from this morning. One was super dark almost black in color. Cool fish for sure
  19. My decent fish wiggled away before I could hold her up for a pic. She filled my net up good. Just a tad smaller than the one above.
  20. Caught a nice 20incher this morning. I'll post a pic of that one, but we are disqualifying his first trout for this beauty he just caught. Just a beast of a rainbow. Stacked tall and big girth
  21. Thanks, good luck if you hit the sac!
  22. Turning in for the night, gonna grab a couple hours of sleep and then head back out at daybreak. Was pretty slow tonight but we picked up a handful of bows. All little guys, but one had a fat little belly starting. One bow and the Walter on the jerk baits, rest came on jigs. White and white grey 3/32. Water was moving at 13k CFS. Basically almost bank fishing... At 1am looks like they dropped down to 3 units. Cut the flow to 10k. So that will hopefully free up a few more spots on the shoreline. Fished mostly between outlet 1 and the dam. Schedule says they will run that all day tomorrow so I guess we'll see what they do. My buddy caught his first rainbow trout ever. He's a first timer down here so I'm hoping we can get a consistent bite going. We were seeing allot of fish actively feeding on the surface, which I'm betting they are hitting the shad coming through.
  23. Although I was just down it feels good to be back in the water. Heavy flow though but fish don't seem to mind so far.
