  1. I put in at Moonshine around 6:45am. I took the advice that ABK gave about the crankbait and had a decent 4 hours of fishing. I caught 12 but only 2 were keepers. One solid SM and a solid LM. SM was just under 3 lbs and the LM was 3 lbs exactly. SM was on a Rock Crawler and the LM was on the Ned. Broke my rod setting the hook on the SM but managed to get it in the boat. Returned the rod to BPS today and replaced it with a Duckett crankin stick. Water was good color 81.4. Both fish were less than 10 feet deep. I would have tried to fish some points but every point had a boat sitting on it. I left at 11 because it was very warm and there wasn't any wind. Gonna try around point 5 tomorrow morning for a couple of hours. Mike
  2. Cheese, thanks for the honesty in your report. There is always next time. If we didn't have days like that it would be impossible to get excited when we have good days Mike
  3. Bill, our thoughts and prayers are with you and Becky. Good luck with the recovery. Mike

    need advice

Jim, the search tool is very useful. You can use search terms like Cape Fair, November, fall, etc. You can also go to You Tube and search for table rock fishing reports and then find fall or November. Mike
  5. TG, nice healthy looking fish. Thanks for the report. Mike
  6. Thanks for the report. Nice walleye. Mike
  7. Bo, glad to hear you are back on the water. Good luck with the recovery. A good outing catching fish is just what the doctor ordered. Thanks for the report. Mike

  9. Quill, thanks for the details. Sounds like a solid day. Buzz bait keeper right off the bat sure does get the heart going, eh? Mike
  10. Abk, thanks for the report. I was down this past weekend but had too many projects to do so I did not get out. I did manage to set up my rods for next weekend though. Deep crank, square bill and a bone colored deep jerk bait. I too think it will be cranking time soon. I also have the usual go to things tied on. 2 kinds of Ned, fb jig, db WP, frog. I will be around the dam area too. Hopefully I can get bit. Mike
  11. The same reason sour cream and yogurt have an expiration date. Mike

  16. Bobby B, I was fishing Sunday morning in those short coves between Indian Point and Point 5.  When we came out of one we went to the longer cove by point 5 and passed a few bass boats and a pontoon way off the sloping point.  it looked like they were bunched up fishing the same water.  Were you in one of those boats?  We were in the maroon and silver older model Ragin Cajun.

Mike, No I was not one of them - several boats are on that point everyday - I have fished it on a drop shot but only when others are not there - there has been the same boat on it very morning lately from first light for hours- there is a 27 ft flat way out in the middle - can't tell if they are doing any good out there but I hope they are for the time spent.

I have a fish and ski (Nautistar deck boat with a 4 stroke Yamaha) - stop by if you see me out there.

will do.  I usually put in at Moonshine as our home is closer to that ramp.  I am trying to learn this part of the lake.  We had a couple of really nice 3 lb small mouth on a secondary point inside that deeper cove near point 5 on Sunday morning.  we fished that area from 7 till 10am.  then the boats came out so we left.

hope to see you out there.

I'm not sure if you read about it but this forum usually has a big fish tourney for the members on a Saturday in March.  I fished it last year and got to put faces with names.  Each member weighs in one big bass.  no entry fee.  it is a pot luck lunch so everyone brings a dish. there are very nominal prizes and a braggin' rights trophy.  We go out of Eagle Rock which is pretty far up the white river.

  17. My advice would be to hire one of the guides that is a regular here on the forum. It will be money well spent and you can pick his brain for the entire day about different species and different areas of the lake. Just sayin' Mike
  18. SplitG2, thanks for the report. nice healthy looking fish. Mike
  19. Cheese, nice picture. Sounds like a good day. Did you see many shad up shallow? Mike
  20. I prefer a good pair of wool socks and the waterproof boots. But if my feet get cold I'm done for the day. Mike
  21. I've always wondered about earthquakes. They say that they are caused by the plates shifting. I wonder when a plate in Oklahoma shifts don't you think that the other end of that plate would also shift? And wouldn't that cause a quake at the other end? So does anyone think the plate in Italy is connected to the plate in Oklahoma? Just wondering. Mike
  22. Quill, thanks for the details. Sounds like a decent morning. Mike
  23. richy, that is what i was going to suggest also. I remember seeing pictures of the Kayak weigh in and the fisherman all had a wrist band from that day and a sealed identifier on the board. Both had to be in the photo for the fish to count. Especially for summer tourneys. Mike
  24. BC, I sent you a PM. M&M
  25. The lake level is at 912.49 according to the Corp today. If they have a winter draw down, I plan on taking video of some areas for future reference. Mike
