  3. i hate those things, hey wrench was your organ damaged ?
  4. I bought 2 boats used in missouri, the numbers stayed the same, my son bought one of my boats, the numbers stayed the same until he moved to texas, then he had to change them, when he moved back to Mo. they changed again. As I understand it the numbers stay the same until you title it in a new state.
  5. The wife and I drove around that lake yesterday, and had a brief visit to hot springs. Question to anyone who might know the lake, is it worth a 4 hour drive to fish and stay ? I am an hour from Beaver, Stockton, Capefair, and 1.5 from Beaver creek Bullshoals, other than a huge natural park. Is lake ouachita arkansas worth the drive ? Thanks
  6. Me too, he is fun to watch !
  7. I am no expert, I would bet the big girl are suspended in open water just over the thermocline most days, and probably hiding under a bluff ledge at about the same level. Those of us who do the jerk bait thing in the winter have seen them, come in under the boat, from the deep on thier way to the bank. Just my opinion, I am going to give the sharp shooting thing a whirl one of these days. Check out Uncut Angling Sharpshooting on YouTube.
  8. My boys and I hunt and fish local private property near our home, I like being able to walk out the door and walk to my favorite coyote spot or whatever. It's all in the raising. I told my kids stay off others land, ask expecting nothing. Whatever the answer thank them, wish them well. move on. Don't trash the place !!! My kids are grown, one neighbor said yes you can hunt, but only you. Which should go without saying. Don't bring other because you have permission. Stuff like that, that we all know, right ? I get wound up, about this ! That neighbor should have scolded their children for trespassing and apologized to you, and cleaned up your pond. I would have been HOT if my kids would have done that ! Dang it now everyone knows what I get mad about. Wrench will be pulling my chain now.
  9. Only adds to the trouble, I have lived it. But that is a different discussion.
  10. I always thought that I would love to live on the water, I have been on and regularly fished many or all the areas mentioned in this thread (I haven't been to Mc Natt since the flood ) 25 yrs ago I would fish places that you would seldom see anyone, and there was big fish, now not so. I was fishing the bank of spring river, a few miles from my house when a man floated by in a kayak, I asked "Hey where did you put in" (thinking that I might be able to the same some time ) he barked back "Why do you want to know, so you can brake into my truck !" I thought wow, jerk ! Thinking about this, on the way home, he has a point, he didn't know me. I think if I want to live on the water I might just have to dig a pond and settle for that. I don't get why someone would enjoy going to the water or anywhere else, trash it, then think that it will be clean for them next time they visit?? So now that we have discussed the problem, what do we do ?
  11. Nice, great picture ! I see one of those crooked backed walleyes, I caught one once where the tail was turned straight up it was still over 20", it must not affect the health, or ability to feed. I wonder what causes that ? I have caught at least 2 like that both were larger.
  12. You did good, very nice !
  13. Best answer yet, add a 1/2 oz silver Binks pro spoon. Try casting it (many people don't cast them) but try it on a point in the morning. Cast it up in the shallow work it out into 25 or 30ft of water. Pick it up fast, drop it on slack line until it stops, while it falls reel the slack out, repeat, until you get it under the boat, bounce it under the boat a couple times, then cast again. If you are not getting hung up, you are not doing it right. If you find that this works, don't take pictures until it is over (usually about 10min). One thing don't be afraid to use an off set worm hook on your drop shot.
  14. I hear you but I would still eat the one on the grass, I mean if that guy didn't want it
  15. Nice, I have learned a lot !
  16. It's about the money, but hey if I were hungry I might eat them, so what can I say. Thick juicy bass filets, yum😜
  17. That's really amazing ! I wonder what the magic bait was ? I also wonder if the fish all survived as specially the one in the grass? It is still amazing ! There are huge schools of shad everywhere, it is a wonder any of us can catch anything.
  18. Thanks after having my self esteem trodden over on Beaver, I thought that I might try to find it again on Stockton. I feel better about myself now😁, no therapy needed.
  19. Had to work for it, tried a little of everything, dropshot trick worm 25ft deep on a point at 4pm brought up a nice smallmouth 3lb 9oz 18" long. Tried the old erie dearie, at about the same depth to produce a 21.5 inch walleye. Got checked by the game warden (very nice guy ) dropped the erie dearie down just after he left us, with the warden still in sight, I just knew it was a BIG walleye nope...catfish. Still hunting for some sort of pattern, I tried some long line troll with my new trolling combos, and found this one 12 inch crappie. I did find 4 short eyes and a drum at about 7:30 on a point with the Bink 1/2oz silver spoon, I caught 4 walleye, and one drum in about 5 minutes, it was great ! All fish released and still swim. BEST OF ALL, I SPENT THE WHOLE WEEKEND WITH MY WIFE OF 31 YRS ! GOD IS GOOD !
  20. I'm just a hillbilly mechanic, but was my thought. Lets just say that I have seen it done and leave it at that😃
