  1. Ok. Thanks. I was concerned about the void left by the missing layers so I figured I should fill it to the same depth and shape as it was originally before I place the Kevlar sheet. If I go over it without filling it, I was a bit concerned that the edge/rim of the hole I’m covering would be a wear point if there is a dip in the final layer.
  2. Thanks for the responses guys. Has anybody on here actually done this by chance?
  3. Are you saying that I should not fix the whole first and then put the Kevlar cloth/skid plate over the top because it won’t stick?
  4. Thanks yeah I found that gflex a couple of places on the web as well..
  5. My buddy who now lives out of state called and told me I could have his canoe he doesn’t need anymore. It’s a Royalex canoe. He told me to get some Kevlar skid plates. When I picked up the boat there was a worn spot on the bow. I’m m guessing that I should patch the hole first before installing a skid plate/Kevlar fabric? Does anyone have any advice on repairing this? I’ve never done one. I thought I read a thread here on the subject recently but I couldn’t find it..
  6. So cool that was all on video
  7. Beauties
  8. People who keep horses or livestock tend to have them laying around as feed and supplements sometimes come in 7 gals…
  9. Targeting carp with the fly rod when you can’t chase the gamefish is also pretty great. There is lots of crossover in the gear. The large grass carp can feel like you’ve hooked an ocean fish at times haha.
  10. Fold out drawers with one side of the mechanism broken. Rusted shut cutting pliers. At least five broken Zebcos just in case.
  11. I’d have to say that is extremely impolite to stop a man fishing out in a stream and order him to stop what he is doing an walk over to you to prove he isn’t committing a crime. I have no duty to walk over to you at your command as my license is here legally in my hand. If the matter is urgent enough to rudely interrupt my pastime then surely a short walk into the water would be appropriate.
  12. When I was young and fished with bait, a dobsonfly larvae (hellgrammite) was the best owing to the fact that every fish that sees it tries to eat it and the fact that it’s body is very durable. You could catch 10 smallmouth or goggle-eye with one hellgrammite. When I lived out west I caught a giant water beetle in a pond at my house. This thing was terrifying. About four inches long with pincer-like front legs holding a big frog it had captured.
  13. Nice job
  14. It was a red ribbon area
  15. 5wt. Full sinking line 7ips. The final one took an hour to catch but I wasn’t goin home without that round number haha. Missed eight. Not one rainbow. Caught one big ol shiner as well. They smacked it like a bass. No fish pics, kept the phone in a bag as it’s on its last leg. Wasn’t gone risk finishing it off unless I had a trophy 😁
  16. That’s the exact opposite of what I’m looking for
  17. I second this post haha. Bump
  18. That is one realistic crawfish. Would love to try that hellgrammite the way you did the centipede in Cajun Melon as well.
  19. Last summer, on the Black River, I floated over something shiny. I back-paddled the kayak and dove in after it. Someone had dropped their waterproof pouch with an iPhone wallet and keys. The phone screen was shining because it had just missed a call and that’s how I saw it on the bottom. When we got back to the car the phone was locked but I hit the Siri button and said “call mom” and it dialed mom. I gave the lady who it called my number and she told me her son lost his stuff he day before. The son called me and I gave him my address and he and his dad showed up promptly as they live nearby my home. They couldn’t believe I had all their belongings. Turns out the dad had a bug spraying business and he insisted that he spray for bugs at my house and my brothers house( my brother was with me when they collected their things) no charge.
  20. I’ll check those thanks.
  21. Thanks. Yeah I’m not trying to go deep, just trying to keep him dry during cold weather and be able to cross at low spots. Muck boots are no match for this kid near any kind of water 😉.
  22. I’m looking for some waders for my son. He’s 6 and wears a youth size 13 1/2 shoe. I’m guessing anything from youth size 13 1/2 to 2 would work? I’ve had trouble locating any to try on in the St. Louis area. All the stores are order only. Does anyone on here have any to sell that your kid has outgrown? Also if someone has any good experience on ordering new one that would be helpful.
  23. Fresh water Cabazon. It even has the blue mouth 😁 Or maybe it’s a baby Ling….
  24. Those martins are great. Bought two last year of the counter for $11 apiece.
