One of the guys who works at Sam’s tackle shop, Chris, had just landed a shark on an 8wt in the last week. -

Built my first shark rig and hooked a three foot black tip but it broke loose in the surf before I could get my camera out and my son was getting chewed by black flies so we called it a night. 135# steel cable to 80# mono to braid… We were running steel leaders when fishing for reds because the sharks were thick for some reason, maybe all the recent rain…. Also the Crappie Magnet proved to be just as strong of “catch everything” type lure for my son in the salt as it is in freshwater (baby reds, croaker, specked sea trout, pinfish, lady fish, needlefish) -

Probably because we’ve all had the experience of laying comfortably in bed for the night in what we’ve assumed to be a safe place to rest when something minuscule scampers over your face completely shattering your sanctuary as well as any hope of sleep that night and possibly the next. Doesn’t happen nearly as often with snakes..

Batteries, I found this interesting.

“Very Impessive!” I have been subscribed to this guy’s channel for a while. Good stuff. -
I’m right with ya. I’ve got so many pins on my phone map my brother said I should become an urban fishing guide. St. Louis county as well haha.

Awesome. What would I set up my 5wt with. I only have a floating WF. I guess I should just get a sinking line? Also I was thinking of trying to catch Mullet or other bait with the fly gear out of the lagoon across the way? -

Thanks, I’m guessing baitfish patterns and poppers? Yea I’ve made that walk a few times. I like it but because it’s much more wild on the way out to the point but those mosquitoes are brutal if the breeze is slow haha -

Thanks! How do I catch a mackerel?!? -
A buddy of mine and his friend started that TV station. I think they made more money selling the viral video after dude decided to test their new camera by putting it on this boat and letting it record. Internet classic. Nuts. Even made it to Family Guy.

Headed down to Gulf Shores to stay in a condo.. Looking for any tips or advice from you guys that I can use on the trip as far as bank and kayak fishing the bays lagoons lakes or Gulf nearby (Gulf Shores, Fort Morgan, Orange Beach etc) I like any and all types of fishing action haha. Yeah I'm in good shape physically and have taken my kayak with me before and fished the grass around the island. Most of my stuff is for bass and trout (fly rods, various sizes of spinning rods and reels) but I do have a couple of 10 and 11’ surf rods and spinning reels that I have taken down previously. I also have a Shimano Curado Hg 201 baitcaster that I believe might be ok to use in the salt (?) paired with a nice 7’1” Dobyn’s Medium Heavy bass rod.. I’ve had some success fishing for redfish and black drum at night with live bait. Can I rent a fly rod? All I have is 1wt 2wt and 5wt all cheapies and reels not made for salt. Are there any go-to lures that I might have already that I should bring? Last year I caught mullet and crab in a nearby lagoon with a cast net that I used for bait at night. Any help is much appreciated!!

Nice!

Last week I got caught in a root just as I was leaving the water (one more cast) and I decided to reel down to shake it loose. When it came off my rod tip was dangling there as well. I said more than one naughty word. All the way home in fact.

One nice long float will make all seem much better.

Good post. I wonder why they they don’t order the enzyme test immediately for all chest pain in men?

I’ll put this here. This guy is great. Hell go out and compare and test just about any tool on the market that the viewer suggests..
