I found this box floating there wasnāt any water in it, but everything was already kind of rusty. Are any of these good? I noticed thereās a countdown Rapala in here and a little floating rebelā¦. Might throw some hooks on these if itās worth it ha ha,if not, theyāll just go on the wall of the man cave.

Guess Iām planting juice tomatos next year. My dad finishes concrete at 77 almost every day and likes it. Still sits up in a climber stand for 12hrs when itās snowing and single digits waiting for the big one.

FW is 100% correct about certain ethnicities and tipping. I worked in the front of the house, many places before and during college, and this was so well known that the industry had adapted to calling them a ātable of Canadiansā to prevent any possible blow back from mentioning specific ethnicities. As in āaw man who gave me the table of Canadians?ā I believe the tipping is the opposite of barbarism. It maintains a higher level of customer service because itās commission based and people are incentivized to provide you the best service rather than just spending hours to get a paycheck on a job that they hate. That said, many wealthy Asians either donāt understand or don't believe in tipping culture. I tip almost any trade or service persons that I feel deserves it even if itās not customary as restaurants, hospitality, drivers, fishing guides etc generally are ⦠On a side note. Having been friends and coworkers with many ethnicities, in my experience āwhiteā people canāt hold a candle to the distain harbored by Hispanics and Asians toward Africans and African Americans.. My parents had a couple from India and a couple from Bosnia move in on their street. They would fight so much we thought there would be a murder inevitably. Might have been a Muslim vs Hindu thing though. Who knows.

Iāve seen them a few times. I resent the permission-less intrusion into the natural starscape. I get that there are already airplanes and satellites that are visible, but these starlink things are pretty obnoxious. Iāve heard that they werenāt supposed to be visible, and that was part of the clearance that they received. Imagine every other nternet service provider, putting their own train of those things up there.

Which one is best to smash the barbs down after being imbedded in truck headliner and upholstery? Asking for friend. -
I brought some buddies to the stream with me last time and we absolutely had a blast fishing every spot out my kayaks. Kind of gave them my technique for jigs and Ned rig and bottom stuff because itās such a sure thing and I wanted to make sure they had fun. Even though Iām certain I would have caught more smallies fishing the bottom, I decided to stick with the plopper/bait caster setup and just wait for the blow ups to happen. Sometimes Iāll do a the entire run even though itās less productive, when they slam that thing aggressively, it really feeds my addiction haha. At times they catch me off guard and startle me, thatās the best.. Or when they smack it as soon as it hits the water š

If the bass arenāt biting Iāll try for them with a some kind of weightless white feathered streamer. They snap at it reflexively if you pull it past the side of their head. I would say that my hook finds purchase in that face about 2 of 10 strikes⦠Im not a fan of the slime so if Iām on land I usually pull the hook and let them do that slither back into the water on their own.. Iāve had a few dudes lately tell me that they are good eating.. I looked it up. Itās a thing.

Great report. How did you get those two bass to lay flat next to each other without being tethered to something.. Did they die?

Wow nice job! Had to have the ticker pounding on that one.

Thanks Mitch! (Hellgrammites)

I have used just a regular jig head and Iāve rigged it with a small offset shank gamakatsu Texas rig. obviously, I get the best action out of the jig head but I was wondering if you do anything different. I did the best with the maple syrup color at this spot. -
I took a couple buddies of mine out to a stream somewhere in southern Missouri, and absolutely slayed the smallmouth and shadow bass (I think). Brought down a bunch of your Hellgrammites @Mitch f and had a blast. I stopped counting after 50 smallmouth I put at least four over it 16 inches into the kayak but I missed an absolute donkey that went under a branch and dragged my kayak cross the river before she got off. Rigged them up with a plain ol lead jig head and also used them as a trailer on a jig. Good times. Cheers fyi in another locale, earlier this spring, I caught an 18 1/2 incher during the spawn with the gray colored shark tail but I did not have my phone with me (sure)

Stirring the pot but there is much truth to this.

We met Steve Rinella at Scheels a few months back at a book signing for his new childrenās book about getting involved in the outdoors. My son came across the Meateater show on his own, surprisingly, as we donāt allow him watch very much unsupervised. He absolutely loves the show and we were amazed about how focused he was on it considering that itās relatively low budget compared with the shows that they try to push on children these days. Anyway, we bought the book and got to meet Steve with the whole family as a birthday gift for my son. He seemed very genuine and I got the sense that he recognizes that heās been blessed with a great career, and he knows he has his audience to thank for a lot of it. My son was starstruck, and we had him sign a crank bait. As a bonus we got to meet Clay Newton, who is Steveās friend and has been on the show a few times, and coincidentally is the subject my sonās favorite episodes. Clay makes a habit of finding mules on craigslist that are āuntrainableā and training them to be used for hunting trips in the Ozarks of Arkansas. Pretty sweet. Clay just happened to drive up to see Steve and surprise him right when we got there and Steve made him stand up front and shake hands with people ha ha. -
Do you have a jetty where you are? If you want a low budget unique experience go poke-poling for monkey faced eel on the rocks⦠A wire hanger. A long pole or piece of bamboo. Some bait. good time

Yep sticking your digits in an ocean fishās mouth is not a good idea. Good call.

What is on the end of your line for smallmouth?
Hawg replied to ElkHairCaddis's topic in Smallmouth Talk
Small jigs Ned rigs prop bait/top water early and late crank bait like wrench said, once you figure em out itās pretty easy in the creeks. -
I had a brown recluse outbreak in my garage. They were everywhere tiny ones you could barely see and big quarter sized granddaddyās under just about every object in there. Iām reluctant to use bug bombs because I have young children(I even transplanted some broadhead skinks from a job site to my garages to knock āem back)but this is one of the last warm days last year and they were moving around again and I had had enough. The instructions called for one bugbomb this size for my space. I set off five lol. Havenāt seen one since. Skinks are alive and well.
