Locking Orvis Display Case For Sale
Phil Lilley replied to STLbassbuster's topic in Buy - Sell - Trade
Yeah I got tons of groupies... tons. We've actually had some reels disappear lately. Spinning reels. So I've been thinking about a locked case. -

**OA One Bass Tourney moved to March 19**
Phil Lilley replied to Quillback's topic in Table Rock Lake
I’m not going to make it Saturday and neither is Babler. So if there’s anyone That lives this side of the dam I can run the plaque over to let me know please. Thanks -
The bite has been so weird. Bad for 2-3 days, then great for a day maybe 2. Today almost everyone did well.

I wish our trout hit streamers like the White River. Maybe as they mature they will someday.

I bunch of us went a couple of years ago. It's pretty amazing how big they are.

Shout out to Brian wise
Phil Lilley replied to trythisonemv's topic in Fly Tying Discussions & Entymology
Brian helped me get this forum started. Great guy. There are a lot of social venues to keep up with... I don't think a lot of people realize how much traffic this forum really gets. If you look at just the posting, you'd think it's pretty small. My stats show about 25,000 different users hit the site per month. Not sure you can get that exposure on a group FB page. -
What are you listening to?
Phil Lilley replied to Bushbeater's topic in New News and General Discussion
I don't follow this thread and someone may have posted the Peterson's before... but if not, check them out. Nice family and very talented. I know Matt and Ellen. -
Lilley's Lake Taneycomo Fishing Report, March 12
Phil Lilley posted a article in Taneycomo fishing reports
Generation pattern has held steady. They're running 4 full units in the morning and 2 units in the afternoon every day. Lake levels above and below Taney are close to their power pools but with snow and rain, although small amounts, it's held those levels stead despite these releases. The 10-day forecast says not much rain for our area so we may see less flows next week. Water temperature continues to inch down. We're reading a flat 45 degrees coming out of Table Rock. Water is fairly clear. We're starting to see a little of the green stuff flowing down in the water column from Table Rock but not enough to cause issues with fishing. Trout fishing has been slow but we are seeing a bit of an improvement the last few days. Our local, state hatchery did stock a truck load of rainbows off the Cooper Creek public boat ramp on Thursday evening, witnessed by one of our guides, Captain Brett Rader. Generally, freshly stocked rainbows hit about anything they see. Throwing spinners and spoons work well as well as Powerbait. These fish will move uplake against the current. If you see a school of fish hitting the surface, that's probably them. Most of our guides are still drifting with scuds and eggs and catching their limits of rainbows. And most of these fish are being caught from Fall Creek to Short Creek. More to come as we have more and more fishing traffic. This week will be busy with spring breakers enjoying what looks like a wonderful warm break from the cold, winter weather. -

We did have reports of threadfin shad flowing from Table Rock into Taneycomo through the turbiines -- actual pictures of shad found in the lake by our guides. And we have caught some nice trout on white jigs below the dam but it hasn't been very consistent telling me that not many shad have come through. More to come as we have more and more fishing traffic. This week will be busy with spring breakers enjoying what looks like a wonderful warm break from the cold, winter weather. View full article

He's good - great for almost 11 years old. Jackson only eats dog food. If he eats ppl food, he gets sick, throws up, bad gas and diarrhea. Once some guys fed him a bunch of meat scraps and impacted his stomach and intestines. Almost killed him. For this reason I try to keep track of him on the property, esp in the evening. Ppl love to give a dog a "treat". Would you give a strange kid a peanut without asking a parent? Why offer a pet anything without asking. I've had ppl give Jackson chips, cookies... whatever is handy right in front of me thinking they're being kind. Sometimes I say something... sometimes I bite my tongue. This is a pet peeve of mine... I'm not saying you'd do that, Glen.

I told him a jerk bait would work on a day like today. I take all the credit
-
It's a setting... I don't think I turned it on. It must have started on an update. So it's 2 "badges". One for posting new content and one for replying to content. I can turn it off....
-
I deleted the video. Language. Had to delete Petes quoted post too.
-
I’ve done that. Not every time but I have, publicly and privately
-
You misunderstood. I didn’t say I’d delete it. I said it could go in a “the way is society going to the dogs” and everybody has a different opinion, and some could be political and then it gets personal. It’s happened before and it’ll happen again.
-
I try to most of my reasoning behind the scenes. I learned a long time ago, a rebuke from me is taken much harder than anyone else. Although I have been guilty of my own rules, ie, a few weeks ago with Wrench. I overstepped and let me emotions get the best of me. We're not perfect, but we're trying.
-
This one is a trouble maker for sure!
-
So this one - This has to do with fishing, but not really. It definitely has the chance to go south because it could drift into politics - probably will. So should I just delete it before it goes south? No I won't.
-
Thanks. I have a tendency to give ppl a benefit of the doubt - too much lead on the rope. And it turn ugly almost every time. I hate it we can't discuss other things but you're right - this is a fishing forum and we should keep it that. But some of it may be that there's not enough fish talk and ppl get bored. FB has taken over and there's no way to battle it. We use FB because it's a free tool and it works.

I share things here that I don't share on FB simply because I know this place, although there are those viewing the forum who aren't members and don't have a vested interest in it, this place is more intimate than Facebook. I used to think the opposite. FB groups were small and the forum was big. Now FB is universal and the forum has shrunk.
-
I think that's the first time anyone has called me a liberal. I'm smiling.... if you can't see through your device. And it's funny to say that fishing isn't talked about enough by members.... please, please by all means please talk about fishing! We can't have enough conversation about fishing. I do love Glen's response though. This place is much more than just about fishing. It's about friends sharing life. And if it's not about that, then I will shut the whole thing down and you guys can go back to Facebook. But I will say this - Scott is on the top of my list to go on a river smallie trip with!

I put rubber cement on mine years ago but it came off. It did make them slick though. Didn't like it. Problem is you can't get all the sand out of the felt to make anything stick long term.
