They were all like that.

3 guide boats were sitting behind the restaurant Saturday. Biscuit hatch. I saw em catch a few while we got our walk in.

Like Ricky Bobby said if you ain’t first your last. I was first up there around 5:30. It was lights out for about an hour and half. Literally every cast was a big fat rainbow. A couple grabbed the jig as I was pulling it out of the water. Short-lined them and they would go nuts. All of them around 18”s and fat. Nothing busting the surface though. Never saw a shad. The boats just keep getting bigger. One of them made a wrong turn out of Puget Sound. The armada showed up and when I took a wave over the bow I left about 9:30. At one point I counted 17 boats between the cable and the ramp. . WT on the spillway side was 67, generator side 48. Ginger jig again.

Don’t worry. The 200 plus people going there each week beat you to it. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

The fly casting on those is so pitiful I can’t even describe it. 😆. Makes me wanna go without the drug just for that.

I was with Gary Flippin years ago down by Crooked Creek on the White. We watched a bunch of browns coral some stockers against the bank while they took turns charging in and picking them off. Some of the rainbows literally jumped on the bank to avoid them.

One day if I catch one big one out of the trophy area with a bulging belly I’m going to keep it and see what’s in there. Stockers maybe? I haven’t kept a trout in at least 10 years. And those were for a fish dinner on a camping trip. For nostalgia sake.

Those were caught on a ginger jig. No bites on white.

I woulda bought one but the handle is on the wrong side.

Stone-cold killa!!!

I was on the water at 5 and left at 10:30. Cooper and ran to the dam. Took a while in the fog. Caught a bunch of nice rainbows biggest one the 20+” er below. The brown is only 17-18”s but a tank. Everyone was catching. Probably 6-7 guide boats and myself. It really died about 9:30 or so when the fog cleared and the sun shone bright.

That second one this morning was a doozy! It absolutely poured for about an hour.

Look up otter attacks. Unreal!

I had my alarm set for 4 to go fishing. Woke up by thunder and lightning at 3:30. Looked at the radar and went back to sleep. We got quite a bit with another big front on the doorstep right now.

Nice gentle rain here for a couple-3 hours. Creek in the back of the cove barely a clear trickle. Level is just slowly creeping up.

I heard someone cut one open and its stomach was full of crawdads. Not saying they don’t eat trout but that’s what was in that one.
