Took him two days to pack for a day trip to Bennett. Many times he would never fish. He would string up 6-7-8 rods and just cast them. That's where I developed my liking for fast action, tip flex rods.
My mom had no idea how much stuff he had until he died. Took us two days to get it all out just to see what he had. Probably 10 high end fly rods still in the plastic in addition to all the other rods. What most people don't know, is that he really wasn't a good fly tier. But he had 4 shipping trunks of materials in a cedar lined closet in the basement.
