how did y'all cook them? The only time I butchered carp it was as good as any fish. Or maybe my wife is just an exceptional cook. Lotta work though, salmon or tuna are either one easier.

Then anyone that works for a company that contracts with, provides services for or accepts funds from the government should also be banned from voting.

Them old marlin semi auto .22s were the first hunting gun for many of my generation and I've never known of one used in a mass murder. I doubt Blunt even knows what semi automatic means. I wonder if some on this board do.

I don't know why but the "Rivertown" doesn't fit my idea of a tackle shop. Unless that is the name of the town, it's reminiscent Clark Kent's "Metropolis" to me. Clumsy on my tongue too. Rivet Town or Riverton are both easier to say, might be a name for a hardware.

Anybody know where these are located now?

And sticks, stones, indigestible corn used as chum, globs of vegetation (swallowed with bugs or snails?) Studies in the past have shown that leaving several inches (8-12") of line hang out of the mouth aided in the passing of the hooks. It prevents the hook turning and becoming deeper buried in tissue, I believe. -
Is it a fly shop or general bait and tackle as well? ye olde bait & tackle The Chum Shop Liar's Corner Angle In Frank's Place The Tippet

That depends on how it's done, decades ago when I fished exclusively with night crawlers for trout I rarely got anything but lip catches, three or more fish per worm. released all the small ones. I'd guess at this point in time I've had more gullet/gut hook ups for trout with foam beetles than with worms. I suspect that letting bait sit until the fish swallows it and swims off is what results in gut hooked fish. If actively fishing and making the fish chase the bait, chances of gut or gullet hooking are greatly reduced. -

the one you posted looked just like the one Phil drew for that old thread, not at all what I'd call a topo showing elevations by contour lines, so I misunderstood your request. Other maps- https://forums.ozarkanglers.com/waters/lakes/lake-taneycomo/lake-taneycomo-maps-r253/ But still not what you want, I think. I think you may want a Depth Chart. Or a topo map made prior to 1908. -

maps for the whole lake, no, but Phil recently updated the info for that area- https://forums.ozarkanglers.com/topic/46548-how-to-boat-to-dam/?do=findComment&comment=683391 -
I like that idea- or since you say scuds are big there The Scud Shop at Lilleys' Landing

It appears to me that every time MDC promotes a fishery that access is lost. More "anglers"/users aggravate more land owners and create more keep out signs. Maybe good from a management standpoint, because all those inaccessible areas become species reservoirs.

Young groundhog is good. The old ones are tough, just like chickens. They might get tender under pressure, Mom always just pan fried them. The skins make strong tough laces or whang leather, Grandpa had me cut the strips about an inch wide, they lose width as they are stretched length wise. Groundhogs, like muskrats and cows, are vegetarians, possums like buzzards are scavengers, meat as a rule takes on the flavor of the diet.

Really nice work, not sure I could fish them though. Too pretty, remind me of some bass flies i bought back in the '80s and carried around til they deteriorated always thinking "I'll save that, it's so nice". My half fast quick tied flies are ugly by comparison.

Getting caught has no bearing on the legality of anything. If it ain't legal it ain't legal.

The answer is "it depends" Every groundhog is a damage causing groundhog, it's what they do. It's why we have 3 CSR 10-4.130 If you are a resident landowner, you don't need a permit on your land, if you are are over 65 or under 15 you don't need a small game permit at all. The Code is available online at no cost and is self explanatory- https://www.sos.mo.gov/adrules/csr/current/3csr/3csr.asp

It's Pea Ridge-Avoca rain that floods the golf courses. Wet weather springs that fill our dry ditches. It can rain 6" here with no runoff if the karst is dry and needs recharging. but there are six or seven part time tributaries between the state line and Havenhurst that run that flow gauge up.

Who do I get that from? sounds like a good deal?

USGS shows browns established in Niangua 1975, Current 1966, N Fork White 1966, Meramec 1975, Lower Gasconade 1998 so they must be successfully spawning in these waters, as I believe reproduction is a criteria for establishment. They also list a book published in 1903 as referencing brown trout established in Mo. with no specific location. Look up Missouri Fish Commission, from 1877 to 1936 that was the state's fish authority. Also look up the US Fish Commission, from 1871 to 1903 the Feds' fish authority and partially responsible for importing and establishing German Carp and German Trout, the US Fish stocked pretty indiscriminately and may have brought Brown Trout here earlier than the state would have. I've never thought much about them as other than an invasive species, but my recollection is that browns are better adapted to marginal waters than either rainbows or brookies, I guess the rainbows must owe their popularity to either being easier to catch or to being easier to raise in captivity,

This probably comes close to your location too @Quillback gauge is on the K bridge at Havenhurst. Little Sugar seems to have been plumb full all winter with several flooding episodes. We are "trapped" at home again by the dry ditches running full.

So, have they solved the phase separation problem that caused trouble with car engines? Is the E15 mandatory or allowed? Will the pumps be marked as E15? EPA approved the E15 in 2001 or so, and some states were selling it back then, with the result that some auto manufacturers stopped waranties on cars that used it. The reason it might be cheaper at the pumps is all in the subsidies, it's not going to save crude oil until they convert all farm machines and diesel trucks to use pure ethanol. At that point they probably won't have any ethanol left for consumers after the farmers use it to produce the next batch.

I saw the same thing @Nick Adams did, arm position, but if you hadn't said the fish on the left was bigger I would not have noticed the arm shift.

This says the trolling motor doesn't need title & regis. "All outboard motors, except trolling motors and electric outboard motors, must be titled and registered. " This exempts the kayak from title and registration But when you put the trolling motor on the kayak, does the kayak come under "All motorized boats" ? I think it does. Just like when I wanted to rig my 17' canoe with sails and Mo wanted to title/tax it under "sailboat over 12' ". Department of Revenue is there for the purpose of collecting money.
