  1. Thank you for the invitation... But I couldn't make it down. I was just curious where you all fish. White river is a fare sized crick.
  2. Where do you guys actually fish the Jigfest? Sounds like a memorable time for everyone!

Sounds great. I wish Springfield had a good Cajun restaurant. Or if it does? I wish I knew of it.

Just a touch off topic. But I have wondered if any of our southern states have given any consideration to peacock bass. Probably all kind s off reasons not to do that, but it would be interesting.
  6. I have this exact same problem. My transducer cable seems to be the issue. I have it run up the shaft on adapter kit I bought. Not a fan. The earlier models didn't have a lift assist flat spring on them, and you could run the cable up the shaft and through the head for a nice, working way to do it( video on utube). I have decided to take the lift assist off and do it the old way up the shaft.
  7. I only have my personal experience to guide me. I really don't anything about bobcats. In my previous job I was pretty much by myself out in the middle of no where 24/7. I encountered quite a few bobcats over the years. The only reaction I have ever witnessed was, first they crapped themselves, while doing a scooby doo cartoon thing with there legs. Then in a puff of fur, they were gone.
  8. Jeff, whats your preference in size? TIA
  9. I guess because I pulled it off of your wrench quote.
  10. Yea I went for last year at 61. Saved a vast fortune of 12 dollars over four years. Celebrated by going out a losing a whopper plopper. But it is convenient, never having to think about it.

Hit the water yesterday, around 9:00. Went for the crappie to start. I swear my crappie skills have diminished somewhat. That was the one thing I could actually catch with some consistency. Anyway blanked on that for a few hours. Gave up on that and went for the bass. Didn't waist anytime and went straight to the ned. Was really wanting some fish. The 12 to 15 inch spots were hungry. With an occasional small LM thrown in. Caught five legal spots, ( 12 inches) the biggest being a 15 inch, and took three home. I haven't got to go out in a couple weeks. I really had an enjoyable day. Weather was great, and caught a meal. A little surprised about the number of people that were out there. Dear people, get a job!!! lol Was in Sons creek arm. Water temp was 46 to 47 all day long. Slightly stained to clear... Mike

Yes that two inches makes a heck of a difference. I thought my wife was just ragging on me. 😉 I'm going out tomorrow . Give it a shot. Maybe get a little bass time in as well? I just have a hankering for some fried fish!!! Would be happy with some spots as well.
  14. Being a "get off my lawn" kind of guy, (Well maybe not quite that bad). lol I have always struggled to be among the masses at Christmas time. The transition to on-line shopping was an answered prayer. That is as close as I will get to a department store for the next couple of months!!!
  15. You don't color the line or anything? High vis at the knot?
  16. Mine looks brand new!!! I suppose there is a reason for that 😒
  17. Welcome to the forum and Springfield. This area is a nice part of the country to hang your hat. Great fishing and environment to enjoy. Mike
  18. Sounds like the HR lady. 🙊🙉🙈

  20. I go for my training next Friday. Kind of excited about it. I am not looking forward to all the driving, but some of these fisheries, I have wanted to see most of my life! Mike
  21. Alaska is on my wife's and my bucket list. We are in the process of planning our trip for sometime this summer. I'm not sure if fishing is involved, but I am trying to work it in. I have always wanted to go to Alaska and I am finally going to do it. I always have been fascinated by it. If God issued do overs. I know that is where I would hang my hat! Mike
  22. I don't know, but I agree with him. if you choose not to use duct tape, your just asking for trouble!!!

    What's Cooking?

I made the mistake of showing my wife this forum last night. I had to wait until this morning to get the computer back. There is some great recipes and ideals on cooking here. She is a very excellent cook and very open to trying new things. She was extremely impressed with some of you guys.
