  1. Well there ya go https://www.outdoorlife.com/fishing/disqualified-kansas-record-crappie-stuffed-with-ball-bearings/
  2. I will be there. Anybody want to share a room?
  3. Plated (bowled?) pic. We ate good. Homemade brownies from Erin are in the oven now.
  4. @gotmuddy inspired me last weekend so I decided to take my own try at a crawfish etouffe. It is so good. Featuring the cast iron pot I got from @BilletHead. I sure love that thing! This is perfect for a dreary, rainy KC day.
  5. Been looking for a way to store my marabou jigs efficiently. Finally dawned on me to just get a Bugger Beast. I love it for my streamers and I think it’ll be great for jigs. And it’ll be great for them to dry out in. Have them organized by weight and color with room for about 100 more. Just thought I’d share. Also, sculpin/ginger gang
  6. Few years ago KDWP kept harassing a couple in rural, Western Kansas about a "pet" mule deer they had around their barnyard. It was around since it was born and I guess the doe died earlier that year and the thing stayed around. They fed it and it was comfortable around them. Well, two agents went out there and shot the thing right in front of them. So, no, KDWP especially has nothing better to do.
  7. Yep, just confirmed with DJ I will be there. I will get a better idea of how the fishing is going mid month and pick a weekend and let everybody know.
  8. This is very true. All depends on water levels, though. last year it was low, then high, then flooding within a day.
  9. Can't legally camp on Corps ground, which is really dumb. Campground would be needed
  10. If you think anyone on here is part of the trash problem, you're mistaken. You should go around the lot and preach this instead of posting here where none of the offenders will see.
  11. Well, by the title of the post, I'd say March. Beginning/middle of the month
  12. Bank or boat on the rivers while the walleye/whites go up to spawn.
  13. I really hammered the walleye last year on Stockton, Sac and Little Sac. Anybody want to plan a trip for this year? Just ask @trythisonemv. Would like to either camp or stay at Kris Nelson's place on Stockton and go from there. Let me know and I can book it and you all can pay me when you arrive. Thinking four days (Thurs-Sun). I will organize.
  14. Can I bring the Terrible Sock??
  15. Tried some of @jdmidwest honey on a biscuit this morning and had some grilled chicken with @BilletHead BBQ sauce for dinner last night. Top notch stuff, gentlemen. Thanks again for the door prizes. Truly a great group of people. I need to recruit some more "youngsters" to here to make sure the forum and tradition carries on.
  16. Hahah! Well, we started dating recently and she's from SE Kansas and lives in the KC area now. Family has 1200 acres. No kids, never married (which is rare at my age). Going well so far. Taking her to dinner for oysters tonight, so that'll be the real test. And, ok, I went to try and pull Jim away from them as we were ready to leave and the Maid of Honor of the bachelorette was the sister of my old high school buddy. So, I was just being a personable guy, Marty!
  17. Man if it was a different weekend I'd totally go. Haven't fished it in years. If you don't have anybody claim, maybe I can shift the Neodesha, 1200 acre woman's plans she made for me against my will..
  18. I'd like recipes for everything there. Food we had would put a Michelin star restaurant to shame. I'll bring my squirrel and dumplings next time. Had a couple people upset I didn't bring it.
  19. 8 miles of floatable water without stepping out of the canoe in a flood, maybe. I would say a pretty hearty, no, don't do it.
  20. Reflecting back to sitting at Phil's dock before fishing, and I was about to grab one of the big, long-handled ones sitting right there. "Do you guys have a good-sized net?" Darky and Cody: "Oh yea these should work." Mhmmm..
  21. What a great time meeting new folks and reuniting with old friends. Definitely need to do this every year. Maybe I’ll pause duck hunting for a weekend on the White, too. Fishing was pretty good this morning. Cody, Daryk and I caught a lot of nice fish on jigs. And Daryk got his biggest rainbow ever. It was just over 20-inches. That was a great cap to the weekend. Thanks to Phil and everyone for the great event! Daryk and I with our big fish. 22.5-inches and 20-inches..caught at the same time. That was a cluster!
  22. Sounds like we have more than enough food so I am just going to bring the deer sausage and snack sticks. I'll bring some crackers and such and make a fancy charcuterie board for the evening! I know you heathens probably won't know what to do with it, but it'll look nice..
  23. It's very much a typical government "hey, we tried! *wink, wink*" deal to prevent lawsuits and other forced aid.
  24. Never trust the government.
